Book How to Deliver Man s Soul from Its Corrupt Nature

Download or read book How to Deliver Man s Soul from Its Corrupt Nature written by Louis/Adikibarasika Okokon and published by . This book was released on 2017-09-04 with total page 134 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When God first created man, He formed him out of the dust of the ground and then breathed "the breath of life into his nostrils". Immediately the breath of life entered into man it became the spirit of man. As it came into contact with man's inner earthly body, it formed the soul of man. Therefore the soul of man is the combination of two components: the inner earthen body of man and the breath of God which formed man's spirit. Thus, the scripture describes man as a How to Deliver Man's Soul from Its Corrupt Nature living soul. The breath of life that formed man's spirit became the organ of life from God within him. Man became conscious of his existence through his soul and so it turned out to be the seat of man's personality. As mentioned earlier, the spirit and the body are merged in the soul which forms the organ of our character. This is why many portions of the scripture qualify man as "soul". And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came. Gen 12:5 KJV The soul consists of four parts: the mind, desire, will, and emotions. Mind: The mind which is often considered as the faculty of intellect could be traced spiritual from the following portions of the scripture: Proverbs 19:2, Psalms 13:2, Lam 3:20 and Proverbs 2:10 Desire: Deuteronomy 14:26, Psalms 84:2 and Isaiah 26:9 Will: Psalms 27:12, Psalms 41:2 and Job 7:15 Emotions: 1Samuel 18:1, Luke 1:46 and Zech 11:8 The scripture therefore defines man as a soul, possessing a spirit and both live in a body. This also indicates that the soul is the natural life of man. It is the power and control room that preserves him alive in the flesh. At the beginning God created man as a living soul. This soul life is entirely distinct from the new life the Holy Spirit gives to us at new birth. What the Holy Spirit imparts into our spirit is God's uncreated life. But the soul life is man's created life. The Holy Spirit grants us a supernatural and spiritual power while the soul life is merely the natural power. The Holy Spirit in us gives us the "Zoe" while the soul gives us the "Psuche". Life is that power within a man which propels every member of his body to function. Therefore the inward soul power finds expression through the outward physical body. The soul life supplies energy for whatsoever the entire being requires. Thus if the spirit rules over the soul that is the soul submitting to the Holy Spirit through the spirit, the soul will exercise its will to act according to the dictates of the spirit. If however sin reigns in the body, the soul will be enticed by sin into using its will to follow what the sin of the body desires or resist its dictates. The soul therefore works according to the dictates of its master. Before man's fall his soul had committed its power to the spirit's direction and dictates but after the fall it responded completely to sin's coercion. As soon as man became fleshly sin which afterwards reigned in his body became man's nature enslaving the soul and the entire life of man thus compelling him to walk after sin. The concept of life and nature seems to be synonymous to many but they are different in the sense that life appears to be broader than nature. Each life possesses its peculiar nature being the natural principles of existence. The nature of sin initiates while the life of the soul energizes. Sin originates while the soul executes. Such is the condition of an unbeliever. How to Deliver Man's Soul from Its Corrupt Nature In the case of a believer who has accepted the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ having realized the finished work of Christ on the cross, if he remains ignorant of him being crucified with Christ and that he is been given God's life to walk in the newness of life, the enemy plays on his ignorance and enslaves him back to sin.
