Book How to Cure a Cold

Download or read book How to Cure a Cold written by Patricia Santhuff and published by . This book was released on 2011-09-01 with total page 40 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Step-by-step methods reveal how to get rid of a cold -- head cold, chest cold, or other version of the cold and flu virus -- using highly effective, commonly available natural cold remedies which have kept the author, alternative healthcare advocate Patricia Santhuff, cold-free for more than a decade. "However," says the author, "since only medical doctors and prescription drugs can be said to 'cure' anything, this book actually only shows how to achieve 'a complete cessation of cold symptoms.'" For anyone who would like to say goodbye forever to the misery of colds and flu, this is a treasure chest. Santhuff shows that by paying close attention to cold symptoms (which is the only way you know you've got a cold) and applying a handful of natural remedies as dictated by the symptoms, she and her family have been able to dispense with their colds very quickly, usually within a few hours. No more stuffed, red noses, no more coughs and congestion, no more headaches and sore throat. They're all dispensed with along with whatever current strain of the rhinovirus they've been unwittingly hosting. Santhuff reveals her step-by-step method, a detailed, annotated list of her "cache of armaments," where to find the preferred remedies (though most should be available at any local well-stocked healthfood store), and other helpful tips and information. Santhuff also makes a passionate argument for using natural remedies rather than harsh chemical drugs for all our healing needs where possible because despite the conventional wisdom and the anti-alternative health bias of Western science and the culture that idolizes it, herbs and other natural remedies are overwhelmingly safe and effective.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The common cold is unlike any other human disease because of two f- tors: firstly, it is arguably the most common human disease and, secondly, it is one of the most complex diseases because of the number of viruses that cause the familiar syndrome of sneezing, sore throat, runny nose and nasal congestion. These two factors have made a ‘cure’ for the common cold one of the most difficult scientific and clinical endeavours (a topic often d- cussed in the popular media, where comparisons are made with the ease of putting a man on the moon). The present book brings together a wide range of experts from epidemiologists to virologists and pharmacologists to look at recent advances in our knowledge of the common cold. In some respects the book is unique, as it focuses on the common cold, a syndrome so familiar to the layperson but one that receives little attention from the scientist and clinician. The common cold can be viewed from many different aspects as illustrated in Figure 1. The core knowledge for understanding the common cold must first come from virology and this is discussed in several chapters of the book. There have been major advances in this field because of the use of new methods of detecting viruses such as polymerase chain reaction techniques that have greatly aided our understanding of the epidemiology of viruses associated with common cold.

In 1976 I worked for a major pharmaceutical company and they requested ideas for a five-year plan. I suggested the cure for colds. Basically, they told me I was an idiot, and it couldn't be done because of the variety of things that cause colds. On the cover of their annual report in 1990 in the left bottom corner, the "Cure for Colds" was listed as one of the ten things they wanted to find a cure for in the 90's.

Some remedies, such as changing your diet to deal with heartburn or adapting your home environment to cope with chronic pain, may seem like common sense. You'll find these answers and more in Mayo Clinic Book of Home Remedies. In situations involving your health or the health of your family, the same questions typically arise: What actions can I take that are immediate, safe and effective? When should I contact my doctor? Book excerpt: From one of the nation's most acclaimed science writers comes an entertaining look at the common cold—including the best advice on prevention and reducing symptoms. Some colds are like mice, timid and annoying; others like dragons, accompanied by fever and deep misery. In Ah-Choo!, Jennifer Ackerman explains what, exactly, a cold is, how it works, and whether it's really possible to 'fight one off'. Scientists call this the Golden Age of the Common Cold because Americans suffer a billion colds each year, resulting in 400 million days of missed work and school and 100 million doctor visits. They've also learned over the past decade much more about what cold viruses are, what they do to the human body, and how symptoms can be addressed. In this ode to the odious, Ackerman sifts through the chatter about treatments—what works, what doesn't, and what can't hurt. She dispels myths, such as susceptibility to colds reflects a weakened immune system. And she tracks current research, including work at the University of Virginia at Charlottesville, a world-renowned centre of cold research studies, where the search for a cure continues.

This book was released on 2018-04-24 with total page 102 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 44 Juice Recipe Solutions to Common Cold Symptoms: Prevent and Cure the Common Cold Fast and Naturally With the Use of Vitamin Packed Ingredients By Joe Correa CSN Like most people, I'm sure you can't imagine spending long winter days without a running nose, scratchy throat, coughing, and sneezing. These typical symptoms are the number one people visit their doctor and have to take days off work every year. Although these are not life-threatening conditions, I'm sure your life would be much better without them. A common cold is a medical condition caused by more than 200 different virus types. These tiny organisms are responsible for over 1 billion common colds every year. Common colds begin when the virus is transmitted from one person to another. It attaches to the mucous tissue of the nose or throat. In this case, your immune system sends out white blood cells to the infected area. However, when you have poor lifestyle habits and choices, your immune system is weakened and most of these viruses enter the body creating common colds and other health complications. As a result, your nose and your throat get inflamed creating a lot of mucus as the first sign of a cold.

Book The Ultimate Cause and Preventive Cure for the Common Cold

Download or read book The Ultimate Cause and Preventive Cure for the Common Cold written by Lloyd R. Stark and published by Mojave Books. This book was released on 1994 with total page 161 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: With a little practice, anyone can free themselves of the common cold. In this book, the anatomy of the common cold & flu is explored from mental & physical perspectives. Colds are not caught as a result of exposure to cold weather, seasonal changes, poor diet, lack of vitamin C, luck, contaminated hands, or even from other people. Colds are caught as a result of short term emotional upsets ranging from intense arguments to receiving disturbing news. Scientific evidence is presented that debunks popular myths about colds (such as chilling weather & contagiousness). The mental aspects of colds are discussed, including overwhelming conditions, new experiences, suppressive people, behavior at family reunions, & going into sympathy with a loved one. Colds are largely mental & Dr. Stark has helped many individuals understand & then prevent their colds. A program is developed to enable anyone to cut back on their colds & flu bouts significantly.
