Book How to Be Wise and Successful

Download or read book How to Be Wise and Successful written by Warren W. Burnham and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2023-01-19 with total page 556 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There are a few truths that are woven throughout this book. In a way, it is also a story of my own life. First, realize that life is difficult and very complicated; however, all you need to know about how to succeed is stated with assurance in Psalm 1. Read it. Meditate on it daily. Heed it. You will succeed. There may be times in the first, second, or third quarters of life that you may feel like a failure; but if you continue reading, heeding, and meditating on the principles of Psalm 1, you will get back up on your feet and go on with success. At the end of the game of life, you will be successful, ultimately in eternity. And if you read daily, heed, and meditate on the book of Proverbs, you will gain wisdom. You will be wise, knowing that all wisdom comes from God and only from God. The good news from these truths, absolute truths, is that it will be well for you. It will be for your own good. There is no other way for you to be truly wise and succeed in life. Therefore, reading the Bible daily, to keep these truths in your mind, is the way to be wise and successful!

Book From Smart to Wise

Download or read book From Smart to Wise written by Prasad Kaipa and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2013-03-18 with total page 274 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A fresh and timely approach to nurturing wise, resilient, and flexible leadership in a world of growing complexity Leaders tend to obstinately stick to the leadership style that brought them most success in the past, usually one of two extreme styles: functional leadership that focuses on operational excellence or smart leadership that focuses on growth. When a leader's focus is too functional, the organization becomes introverted and can focus too much on bottom-line profitability while missing out on top-line growth opportunities. But when leaders focus too much on smart leadership, the organization may experience quick growth but lose its effectiveness quickly. From Smart to Wise offers a new approach that balances the two styles to achieve a form of wise leadership that is both functional and smart. Drawing on inspiring real-life stories of historical and contemporary wise leaders such as Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, and even Mahatma Gandhi, the authors identify six characteristics of wise leaders and offer a practical framework to help readers develop their own style of wise leadership. A timely and innovative approach to leadership Written by noted speakers who conduct dozens of keynote speeches and workshops, training thousands of people annually

Book Liberating Ministry from the Success Syndrome

Download or read book Liberating Ministry from the Success Syndrome written by R. Kent Hughes and published by Crossway. This book was released on 2008-01-07 with total page 202 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Every year thousands of God's servants leave the ministry convinced they are failures. Years ago, in the midst of a crisis of faith, Kent Hughes almost became one of them. But instead he and his wife Barbara turned to God's Word, determined to learn what God had to say about success and to evaluate their ministry from a biblical point of view. This book describes their journey and their liberation from the "success syndrome"-the misguided belief that success in ministry means increased numbers. In today's world it is easy to be seduced by the secular thinking that places a number on everything. But the authors teach that true success in ministry lies not in numbers but in several key areas: faithfulness, serving, loving, believing, prayer, holiness, and a Christlike attitude. Their thoughts will encourage readers who grapple with feelings of failure and lead them to a deeper, fuller understanding of success in Christian ministry. This book was originally published by Tyndale in 1987 and includes a new preface.

Book Whatever You Become Become Your Best

Download or read book Whatever You Become Become Your Best written by Gary Berkley and published by . This book was released on 2021 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: WISDOM FOR SUCCESS "Never mistake knowledge for wisdom. One helps you make a living, the other helps you make a life." "Whatever You Become, Become Your Best" communicates the important and often neglected message that if you want to become the best person you can be, you must devote yourself to becoming wise about what success consists of. You need wisdom, and not just information and academic knowledge to succeed in life. Without wisdom, all the good grades or even money, power, and fame will not necessarily bring you happiness and well-being. THE LEARNED POWER OF WISDOM "It is one thing to be clever and another to be wise." (George R.R. Martin) Become more insightful about the importance and power of wisdom, as it is wisdom that teaches us the basics for living a successful life: Having a moral compass and foundation for standing firm during any storm in life The importance of making thoughtful judgments and choices based on a sound awareness of value-based priorities and consequences The centrality of developing worthwhile qualities of mind and spirit, like self-understanding, patience, compassion, love, peace of mind, and a positive sense of well-being The value of personal development, like good character, self-mastery, and finding a worthy purpose The commitment to improve and grow by learning from your mistakes Understand that you are not born with wisdom, as it is a quality and life-enhancing resource that can only be acquired and developed through learning and personal experience. TAP INTO INSIGHTFUL QUOTATIONS and TIME-HONORED WISDOM "It is often not the words but the message behind the words that makes a quote so meaningful. Even the shortest quotations can convey the most powerful of messages, provide meaningful perspective, and impart hard-won wisdom." (Paul and Lizzie Ayoub) "Whatever You Become, Become Your Best" offers a unique and rewarding opportunity to benefit from a great collection of inspirational quotations, along with helpful and insightful author commentaries, that cogently communicate relevant and invaluable time-honored wisdom for success. DON'T WAIT UNTIL YOU ARE OLD TO BECOME WISE ABOUT SUCCESS "Life's tragedy is that we get old too soon and wise too late." (Benjamin Franklin) It is crucial to learn and develop wisdom as early in life as possible. It is far more beneficial to have the advantage of wisdom as you are creating your life, rather than only when you are old and looking back on it. "Be old while you are young and stay young when you are old." (Chinese proverb) AN IDEAL GIFT If you are a parent, grandparent, relative or good friend of a student or other aspiring individual, "Whatever You Become, Become Your Best," will be an excellent and wise gift that will keep on giving.
