I cried. I thanked my lucky stars I didn’t ever have a threesome with co-workers in the Netherlands. But most of all, I fell in love with Lauren Weedman and the raw and complicated truths she so honestly explores on every page.” —Cheryl Strayed, author of the New York Times bestseller Wild Lauren Weedman is not okay. She tells the story of her husband’s affair with their babysitter, her first and only threesome, a tattoo gone horribly awry, and how the birth of her son caused mama drama with her own mother and birth mother, all with laugh-out-loud wit and a powerful undercurrent of vulnerability that pulls off a stunning balance between comedy and tragedy.

This is a gift of tremendous import and magnitude, To humanity for eons to come. it is a vast treasure fashioned in the hermitage of inner silence and brought out into the open, brilliantly lighting the sight of the bewildered with its profound insights. Open the Mystery: The opening words "Open to Bliss" refers To The act of opening or unravelling. it is demystifying the complex, perplexing, and infinitely varied stream of data, which is presented to us as sexual attraction, To its simpler elements, To such a degree that it no longer holds any power. it is seen as child's play (blatantly simple), and as a pitiful attempt at manipulation. Bliss is what remains when one's consciousness has escaped this confounding maze designed For The mind, and learns to derive pleasure once again in experiencing the preciousness of his or her own true innocent childlike-self. A Teacher's Teacher: Sage Hope is A)self-taught and B)Guru-taught (Spiritual Teacher-taught,) & God-taught by: 1. Introspection, analysis, eternal questioning, investigation 2. Validation of truths in daily life 3. Application to embody the potent ascertained truths 4. Independent study of the Spiritual Teachers' invaluable written works 5. The study of world's revealed religious literature. The Work: This is an unbiased research of the introspective Sage Hope. After in-depth study of various religions (equivalency of his study spans thrice his lifetime), after unravelling the mystery of love, and having experienced emotional fulfillment, he turned his attention to this formidable, potent, and illusive mystery, namely sexual attraction. The work represents 4 frac12; years worth of exclusive study on the matter culminating in the Absolute Solution, which when understood dispels the illusions of sexual attraction to such a point that the mystery becomes as the sage says, "unimpressive." Essence of the Problem: Sexual attraction is presented in perplexing, multi-layered, multi-faceted, and ever-changing forms. The onlooker is thereby mesmerized. Baffled, he loses his perspective and sense of reality. His consciousness is swept away with the stream of peculiar variegated data that bombards him. The Solution: A born teacher, The author, Omid Mankoo, Is extremely detailed. With simplicity, he dissects and identifies each illusive element of the jumbled mass of sexual manipulation. He elucidates how each element functions to capture the mind. Furthermore, he demonstrates the reason for their potency when they combine to form, what many experience as, a mysterious unknown force, that many mistakenly attribute to their instinct or nature, and strongly

Book Beyond Money Cars and Women

Download or read book Beyond Money Cars and Women written by Jasmin S. Greene and published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing. This book was released on 2009-05-05 with total page 128 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Masculinity and hip hop are two topics that have been gaining wide attention in recent years. However, research has often been limited to solely criticizing the hip hop movement and examining the culture from a very parochial outsider’s perspective. An in-depth study of the relationship between hip hop and black masculinity, with commentary from the very men who are affected by it, is missing from the academia. It is with this thought that I have written my book. I wish to give a voice to those who have not yet been heard from, to examine and bring to light the damaging as well as positive affects that hip hop has on black men by talking to every day black men themselves, and to show that the hip hop phenomenon can be used as a great political tool for mobilizing this generation. This book examines stereotypical definitions of black manhood and looks at how specific images and lyrics in hip hop promote these stereotypes. I discuss how young black men, often growing up without fathers, look to the males in hip hop as role models. I argue that negative aspects of hip hop are really affecting young black men and that artists need to be more conscious of their impact and role in the black community. I also discuss many positive hip hop artists and music and that conscious hip hop is kept underground intentionally by corporations. I have integrated a case study throughout the book, where I interviewed young black men on ideas of masculinity, education and hip hop. I end by discussing the positive in hip hop, and by giving examples of how it can be taken so much farther, especially to connect the young urban community with politics and social awareness.

Book 80s Action Movies on the Cheap

Download or read book 80s Action Movies on the Cheap written by Daniel R. Budnik and published by McFarland. This book was released on 2017-03-24 with total page 260 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The 1980s was the decade when the action film as it's now known came into being. Nonstop, big-budget excitement became the standard as epic adventures like Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Road Warrior set the tone for the summer blockbusters of Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Chuck Norris. Homages (and ripoffs) made with lesser budgets followed every hit, especially with the advent of direct-to-video releases. Providing detailed commentary on 284 films, this book explores the excitement, audacity and sheer weirdness of '80s low budget action cinema, from the American Ninja series to dime-a-dozen barbarian pictures to such bargain-basement productions as The Courier of Death, Kill Squad and Samurai Cop.

Download or read book Body Politics written by Nadia E. Brown and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2020-05-21 with total page 275 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The politics of the body is often highly contested, culturally specific, and controlled, and this book calls our attention to how bodies are included or excluded in the polity. With governments regulating bodies in ways that mark the political boundaries of who is a citizen, worthy of protection and rights, as well as those who transgress socially proscribed norms, the contributors to this volume offer a systematic investigation of both theoretical and empirical account of bodily differences broadly defined. These chapters, diverse in both the populations and the political behaviours examined, as well as the methodological approaches employed, showcase the significance of body politics in a way few edited works in political science currently do. Arguing that the body is an important site to understand power relations, this book will be of interest to those studying the unequal application of rights to women, racial and ethnic minorities, the LGBTQ community, and people with disabilities. This book was originally published as a special issue of Politics, Groups, and Identities.

Download or read book Seafaring Women written by David Cordingly and published by Random House Trade Paperbacks. This book was released on 2002-03-12 with total page 322 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For centuries, the sea has been regarded as a male domain, but in this illuminating historical narrative, maritime scholar David Cordingly shows that an astonishing number of women went to sea in the great age of sail. Some traveled as the wives or mistresses of captains; others were smuggled aboard by officers or seamen. And Cordingly has unearthed stories of a number of young women who dressed in men’s clothes and worked alongside sailors for months, sometimes years, without ever revealing their gender. His tremendous research shows that there was indeed a thriving female population—from pirates to the sirens of myth and legend—on and around the high seas. A landmark work of women’s history disguised as a spectacularly entertaining yarn, Women Sailors and Sailor’s Women will surprise and delight.
