Book How Could I have Missed This I m a Registered Nurse

Download or read book How Could I have Missed This I m a Registered Nurse written by C. Hill RN and published by Page Publishing Inc. This book was released on 2019-04-22 with total page 65 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: On February 4, 2012, a young forty-nine-year-old female had a stroke while in a Kroger store. This was before all the ads came out about if someone can't talk, you need to get them to the ER. That was what had happened to her the day before. She then had a stroke while her son was waiting for her to bring him his treats for the wrestling tournament that he was in. Her daughter was waiting for her to come home, and she was calling her to see what was the matter. Her mother didn't take the phone with her. She didn't think she would need it. The funny thing was that, this woman was an experienced ICU, psychiatry, and emergency room RN. The things that happened after she had her stroke were unbelievable and life changing. She had a second stroke, a seizure, an inordinate amount of falls, depression, and anxiety. She had dealt with infidelity. She spent her time in one room of a large house, only leaving occasionally. It had been a difficult road, but even with total disability, you can overcome. This book is written to give others support, to let nurses know that you have to take care of yourself and you can never pray too much.

Book I m a Registered Nurse Not a Whore

Download or read book I m a Registered Nurse Not a Whore written by Anne Perdue and published by Insomniac Press. This book was released on 2010-10-15 with total page 262 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The darkly humorous stories in I'm A Registered Nurse Not A Whore take dead aim at how easily our desire to be good is perverted or undermined by a desperate need for love and recognition. Despite a world of fading optimism and advancing catastrophe, plans are formulated, deals drawn, bargains struck, and hope prevails. Beautifully flawed, well-meaning yet easily sidelined, the characters in these eight stories catapult off the rails of ordinary life before raising themselves up - if only for a moment - in oddly heroic ways. These stories will make you laugh, reflect, and yearn to carry on.

When Pastor Eli's wife and brother ran away together, he was the one who lost—his family, his church, and his faith. All he has left are his four-year-old daughter and a little church in the world's smallest town. But he still has his speaking talent, and with it, he's sure he can build up their numbers so he can catch the attention of another mega-church. He needs to be back in the big time, where he belongs. Glory Matthews voted against hiring the new minister. He's single and handsome and more charismatic than any man has a right to be. He'll draw every man-hunting woman around. And because he's used to the big time, he won't stay long . But when Eli is with his daughter, he's down-to-earth, loving and everything she could want, and Glory's heart melts like a forgotten candle burning in the night. If it's one thing Eli Daniels doesn't need, it's Glory Matthews. She's head-strong, pretty, faithful and doesn't seem to be fazed by his "celebrity." But Glory is also everything he could ever want, and somehow this Jordan Valley miss, just might help him find his faith and mend his heart.

Book excerpt: When Inspector Cole moves to a small town in Eastern Ontario, hoping for a quieter posting than his job in the city, the last thing he expects is to get caught up in two 10-year-old missing person cases. Always willing to lend a hand, teenage Alex Rossiter heads to the Brooks’ residence to help with a faulty septic system, but after finding a gun buried by the tank, his whole world is turned upside down. When Inspector Cole and Sergeant Greyrock get involved, they discover something far more sinister: a body in the septic tank—the body of Alex’s missing father. Cole and Greyrock dig through old police records and discover that two men, Ben Rossiter and Trem Alderwood, went missing within days of each other ten years ago. Two men who didn’t know each other, who had no connection, and who had never been found. With no evidence or leads at the time of their disappearances, the cases went cold. Cole and Greyrock plunge headfirst into a new investigation, but the only thing they find is another body buried beneath the streets of their beloved town. They are once again left with no evidence or leads, prompting their investigation to come to a halt. Then young Alex goes missing, leaving behind, unbeknownst to his family, a lover and a child.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Reach for Tomorrow is a story of a beautiful and disillusioned nurse who found excitement, challenge, and love aboard an ocean-going freighter. When Claire Frazier turned in her candy-striped probationer’s uniform for a pin that read “Registered Nurse,” she knew she owed a debt to those who had made her happiness possible. At once she set out to pay off her obligation with interest - and with love. To her patients, Claire gave her time, her understanding, and the skill of her hands. To her fiancé, Dr. Richard Massey, she gave the devotion and tenderness of her heart. Both mocked her; abused her good intentions. Disillusioned and burning with shame, Claire had to pick up and mend the pieces of her broken heart. The scene of Claire’s reunion with life and love is a world cruise. Among the passengers who change her life are the attractive second officer, a detective, a confidence artist, and a romantic teenager. The ports of call on her emotion-filled voyage include a visit with a would-be suicide, a ship-wide search for the strange case of a missing passenger, and an expensive - and possibly dishonest - game of cards. Book excerpt: Lose yourself in this intelligent and emotional novel with a darker edge and the superb characterisation we've come to expect from Sunday Times bestselling author Ruth Hamilton. Fans of Catherine Cookson, Dilly Court and Josephine Cox won't be disappointed. 'Very much the successor to Catherine Cookson. Her books are plot driven, they just rip along; laughs, weeps, love, they've got the lot, and they're quality writing as well' - Sarah Broadhurst on Radio Four 'A fantastic read but not a surprise. Ruth Hamilton books are first class.' -- ***** Reader review 'I have read all of Ruth Hamilton books and for me this is one of her best.' -- ***** Reader review 'Great story. Ruth Hamilton is a wonderful story teller. I will buy all that she writes.' -- ***** Reader review 'Brilliant read, Ruth Hamilton at her best.' -- ***** Reader review **************************************************** TRAGEDY FOLLOWS HONORIA WEST, BUT WHO CAN STOP HER... The West Family at Moortop Farm should have led settled and happy lives. They were affluent, had a superb old farmhouse, and were blessed with three daughters, Hyacinth, Hilda - and Honoria. But even from childhood Honoria cast a pall of fear and suspicion over the family. Violent and unpleasant things happened and although they were dismissed as accidents, both Honoria's parents and her older sister, Hyacinth, became increasingly alarmed. As the years passed, Honoria's worst excesses were concealed from the world, but even so, in her new life in Liverpool, her evil affected those about her. But it was April, frail and struggling against a serious illness, who was to be the one to finally destroy Miss Honoria West. Rich in character and action, Ruth Hamilton's gritty and masterful writing builds to a resounding and powerful climax in yet another unforgettable novel.
