Book Homoeopathic Medical Practice

Download or read book Homoeopathic Medical Practice written by C. P. Hart and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2015-06-15 with total page 433 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Homoeopathic Medical Practice: A Systematic Treatise on Diseases of the Brain and Eye; For the Use of General Practitioners and Students The present work, consisting of brief treatises on Diseases of the Brain and Eye, was originally designed to form the initial portion of a more general work on the Homœopathic Practice of Medicine. But as the Author's time is now so fully occupied by professional duties as to prevent its speedy completion, and as the parts are complete in themselves, and will make a convenient Manual on Diseases of the Brain and Eye, the publisher has decided to issue them as a distinct work. The portion relating to Ophthalmology having been published separately, the following remarks, taken from the Preface to that volume, will be equally applicable to this: Unfortunately, the science of which we treat is still regarded by many as too abstruse, and the practice of it too difficult, for the general profession, and hence it has been relegated, for the most part, to a comparatively small number of practitioners. We say unfortunately, because the vast majority of ophthalmic diseases are still treated, and of necessity always will be treated, by the ordinary medical attendant. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Homoeopathic Medical Practice: A Systematic Treatise on Diseases of the Brain and Eye; For the Use of General Practitioners and Students Whether this volume will meet the requirements above suggested, is not for the author to affirm. He can, however, truly say, that he has labored conscientiously and assiduously to bring it up to the standard of what he conceives to be requisite in a text-book of this character; and he will feel amply compensated for' his labors if the work shall be found free from any serious defects, and, at the same time, not wanting a reasonable degree of the only merit within the scope of his design, namely, that of furnishing a clear and concise description of Ophthalmic diseases and their appropriate treat ment, together with a correct and intelligible account of the facts, principles and discoveries furnished by the ablest of the American, English and German authorities. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Homeopathy, as a medical system, presented a significant institutional and economic challenge to conventional medicine in the nineteenth century. Although contemporary critics portrayed homeopathic physicians as part of a sect whose treatment of disease was beyond the pale of acceptable medical practice, homeopathy was in many ways similar to established medicine. In this book, the author offers a new interpretation of women{19}s roles in both mainstream and alternative modern medicine. She strengthens and clarifies the history of homeopathic women physicians, and creates a framework of comparison to "regular," or orthodox, physicians. Linked to social reform movements in the nineteenth century, antimodernism in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, and countercultural ideals of the 1960s and 1970s, women's advocacy of homeopathy has been intertwined with broad social and cultural issues in American society.

Download or read book Homeopathy in Practice written by Iqbal Husain and published by Page Publishing Inc. This book was released on 2020-01-16 with total page 361 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Homeopathy is an alternative, complementary, cost effective, and very safe Healing System for infants to old-age. During early period of 20th century, it was practiced parallel to the conventional (allopathic) System. It is widely practiced in Germany, UK, India, Bangladesh, and Pakistan. The classical books on Homeopathy, published before the 1900s, describe often in obsolete medical terms, the theory, philosophy and symptoms of provings (drug testing). They are deficient in application methods to find the correct homeopathic remedy easily. They have little reference to pathological changes in tissues. In practice, different patients express their symptoms in different words, even though suffering from same disease. It is often difficult to find the correct homeopathic remedy, based on the patient's symptoms alone. K. Robinson, MD, a contemporary expert, wrote in an editorial The Cutting Edge, "I suppose, the overwhelming drive in the practice of homeopathy is toward precision in prescribing. Because the accurate prescribing is so difficult, we find ourselves studying constantly, and yet we never feel complete." (J.A.I.H, vol. 79, #1, March, 1986). This book, Homeopathy in Practice - Clinical Insights into Homeopathy and Remedies, offers the practical aspects, and clinical keynotes on remedies related to various illnesses, backed by successful reports, from journals, books, personal discussions and experiences of others. This book will help to find the correct remedy easily. Just refer to the relevant Heading in the Contents. Go to the associate page(s), and glance through the keynotes of remedies. You will often spot the correct homeopathic remedy.
