Download or read book The Complete Guide to Homeopathy written by Andrew Lockie and published by DK Publishing (Dorling Kindersley). This book was released on 1995 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Complete Guide to Homeopathy reveals the key principles of homeopathy, including the way we are categorized into "constitutional" types according to our physical and emotional characteristics. Self-assessment Questionnaire: A specially designed questionnaire, based on what a homeopath might ask during a first office visit, provides unique insight into the link between health and temperament and helps determine which constitutional type you most closely match. Index of Remedies: A photographic index of 150 remedies illustrates plant, mineral, and animal sources, ranging from common foods such as honey to toxic substances such as snake venom. A profile of each remedy gives its historical background, medicinal uses, and its corresponding constitutional type. Treating Common Ailments: Easy-to-use ailment charts show which remedies to take for everyday health problems such as insomnia, anxiety, eczema, and toothaches. Additional self-help treatments are recommended, and there is a quick-reference guide to homeopathic first aid.
Download or read book La Homeopatia Practica written by Claude Binet and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2001-07 with total page 370 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Signals and Images written by Leoni Villano Bonamin and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2008-07-29 with total page 216 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The “Groupe International de Recherche sur l’Infinitésimal” (GIRI) was created in 1986 by Professor Madeleine Bastide and Doctor René Halm. Madeleine Bastide was its President for several years. The group comprises actually more than 100 researchers from different disciplines (physicians, chemists, biologists, pharmacologists, physicists, etc. ) from 22 different countries. The original aim, which, for the most part, has now been achieved, was to create a working group to exchange ideas and results concerning the effects of very low doses and high dilutions. Madeleine Bastide then proposed to publish a collection of the lectures given at their scientific meetings in a bilingual book (French and English) entitled “Signals and Images”. The first volume was published in 1990 by the ATELIERS ALPHA BLEUE. It contains lectures on the new pharmacological approach and related concepts that were presented at the 3rd and 4th Symposiums held in Paris in 1989 and 1990. This volume treats the problem of the effects of very low doses and high dilution in in vitro and in vivo experimental models. It is conceivable that this effect, like that of elect- magnetic fields, is none other than an “ultra molecular” effect as shown in yet p- lished results. The effect could be interpreted as a piece of information, i. e. a signal whose transmission and perception remains to be elucidated. According to Madeleine Bastide “everything depends on the nature and quality of the information, signals and images”.

The name of each medicinal substance is first given, followed by the most important of its synonyms and popular names. It has been thought best not to include the German or French names of the remedies. Titles of books containing pathogeneses follow, and afterwards references to original provings, with the names of the provers, alphabetically arranged.

Download or read book Transforming Medical Education written by Delia Gavrus and published by McGill-Queen's Press - MQUP. This book was released on 2022-04-11 with total page 405 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In recent decades, researchers have studied the cultures of medicine and the ways in which context and identity shape both individual experiences and structural barriers in medical education. The essays in this collection offer new insights into the deep histories of these processes, across time and around the globe. Transforming Medical Education compiles twenty-one historical case studies that foreground processes of learning, teaching, and defining medical communities in educational contexts. The chapters are organized around the themes of knowledge transmission, social justice, identity, pedagogy, and the surprising affinities between medical and historical practice. By juxtaposing original research on diverse geographies and eras – from medieval Japan to twentieth-century Canada, and from colonial Cameroon to early Republican China – the volume disrupts traditional historiographies of medical education by making room for schools of medicine for revolutionaries, digital cadavers, emotional medical students, and the world’s first mandatory Indigenous community placement in an accredited medical curriculum. This unique collection of international scholarship honours historian, physician, and professor Jacalyn Duffin for her outstanding contributions to the history of medicine and medical education. An invaluable scholarly resource and teaching tool, Transforming Medical Education offers a provocative study of what it means to teach, learn, and belong in medicine.
