Book Antineutrino proton Interactions in the 15 foot Bubble Chamber

Download or read book Antineutrino proton Interactions in the 15 foot Bubble Chamber written by and published by . This book was released on 1975 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From 24,000 pictures of the Fermilab 15-foot hydrogen bubble chamber exposed to a broad band anti $nu$ beam, there were 89 anti $nu$p $Yields$ $mu$$sup +$ + X$sup 0$ events with a total momentum in the charged tracks greater than 5 GeV/c obtained. The techniques used to identify the muon are discussed, and the anti $nu$ energy is estimated. The charged particle multiplicity distributions and the mean $pi$$sup 0$ multiplicity are presented. The semi- inclusive X, Y, Z, Q$sup 2$ and W distributions are compared with model predictions. The rate of strange particle production is measured. No evidence was found for charm particle production. (auth).

Book 15 Ft Bubble Chamber Neutrino Physics

Download or read book 15 Ft Bubble Chamber Neutrino Physics written by and published by . This book was released on 1975 with total page 29 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Preliminary results from 15' bubble chamber neutrino experiment on hydrogen are presented, showing that the chamber parameters are being understood reasonably well. Raw multiplicity distributions are given for several neutrino energies. Among 274 events, approximately 1/3 have either gammas and/or vees, and about 1/4 of these are vees. The average detection efficiency for external muon identifier plus chamber for neutral currents is about 75%.

Book Particle Field Holography

    Book Details:
  • Author : Chandra S. Vikram
  • Publisher : Cambridge University Press
  • Release : 1992-07-23
  • ISBN : 0521411270
  • Pages : 287 pages

Download or read book Particle Field Holography written by Chandra S. Vikram and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 1992-07-23 with total page 287 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the first book to provide a thorough and systematic description of the entire subject of particle field holography. The use of holography to study very small objects in a dynamic volume is a technique of importance for scientists and engineers across a variety of disciplines for obtaining information about the size, shape and velocity of small objects, such as dust particles, fuel droplets, raindrops, pollen, and bubbles. Professor Vikram has made major contributions to the field, and here provides a coherent, comprehensive and self-contained treatment of the theory, practice and applications. The volume is written to satisfy the needs of researchers in the technique, practicing engineers dealing with applications, and advanced students in science or engineering departments. All the necessary mathematical formulations, figures and photographs, experimental procedures and results, and literature citations are therefore included.

Book Neutrino Production of new Particles in Bubble Chambers

Download or read book Neutrino Production of new Particles in Bubble Chambers written by and published by . This book was released on 1977 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Some results from the study of neutrino interactions above 1 GeV are summarized which are relevant to the utility of such investigations for unearthing new phenomena. The variety of experimental searches and their relevance, bubble chamber techniques, review of the Glashow--Iliopoulos--Maiani model predictions for leptonic decay, and some experimental results for charmed and strange particle phenomena, di-lepton results, nonleptonic decay of charm, evidence for D° production, and heavy leptons are discussed. Book Search for New Phenomena Associated with High Energy Neutrinos Using the Quadrupole Triplet Beam

Download or read book Search for New Phenomena Associated with High Energy Neutrinos Using the Quadrupole Triplet Beam written by and published by . This book was released on 1975 with total page 12 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The authors propose to take one million pictures of high energy neutrinos in an approximately 20% mixture of Neon and Helium using the FNAL 15 foot bubble chamber exposed to the quadrupole triplet focused neutrino beam with the EMI. Their experience in E-28A has shown that the capability of recording and analyzing high multiplicity, multiple gamma conversions, secondary neutron interactions, and high energy electrons makes this instrument uniquely useful in searching for new phenomena in neutrino interactions.

Book Astroparticle Physics

    Book Details:
  • Author : Claus Grupen
  • Publisher : Springer Nature
  • Release : 2020-01-27
  • ISBN : 3030273393
  • Pages : 616 pages

Download or read book Astroparticle Physics written by Claus Grupen and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-01-27 with total page 616 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Describes the branch of astronomy in which processes in the universe are investigated with experimental methods employed in particle-physics experiments. After a historical introduction the basics of elementary particles, Explains particle interactions and the relevant detection techniques, while modern aspects of astroparticle physics are described in a chapter on cosmology. Provides an orientation in the field of astroparticle physics that many beginners might seek and appreciate because the underlying physics fundamentals are presented with little mathematics, and the results are illustrated by many diagrams. Readers have a chance to enter this field of astronomy with a book that closes the gap between expert and popular level.

Book Handbook of Particle Detection and Imaging

Download or read book Handbook of Particle Detection and Imaging written by Claus Grupen and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-01-08 with total page 1251 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The handbook centers on detection techniques in the field of particle physics, medical imaging and related subjects. It is structured into three parts. The first one is dealing with basic ideas of particle detectors, followed by applications of these devices in high energy physics and other fields. In the last part the large field of medical imaging using similar detection techniques is described. The different chapters of the book are written by world experts in their field. Clear instructions on the detection techniques and principles in terms of relevant operation parameters for scientists and graduate students are given.Detailed tables and diagrams will make this a very useful handbook for the application of these techniques in many different fields like physics, medicine, biology and other areas of natural science.

Book Progress in Fine Particle Plasmas

Download or read book Progress in Fine Particle Plasmas written by Tetsu Mieno and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2020-08-26 with total page 228 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the field of plasma physics, plasmas (including charged fine particles) have been actively studied for more than 40 years, and special features of wave phenomena, self-organizations of the particles, potential formations, fluid-like motions of the particles, generations of fine particles in the plasmas, etc. have been investigated. Here, these plasmas are called “fine particle plasmas”, which are also called “dusty plasmas” and “complex plasmas”. This book intends to provide the reader with the recent progress of studies of fine particle plasmas from the viewpoints of wide and interdisciplinary directions, such as self-organized fine particles, Coulomb crystal formation, behaviors of fine particles, their stability, and syntheses of nano-sized particles in reactive plasmas. Further, the phenomena of dense grain particles and the effects of massive neutrinos in galaxy clustering are included.
