Book Holiness Righteousness and the New Covenant

Download or read book Holiness Righteousness and the New Covenant written by Homer Kizer and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2002-12-17 with total page 404 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Holiness, Righteousness, and the New Covenant, Homer Kizer deconstructs Christianity to show that its foundational constructs require each believer to do what he or she knows is right whenever a decision is made. This apologetic transcends denominational doctrines and traditional readings of prophecy. In it Kizer challenges orthodoxy by asserting the necessity for Christian disciples to produce works consistent with the disciples' knowledge, with disciples continuing to grow in grace and knowledge while enduring to the end. Kizer also produces the first inspired reading of the prophecies of Daniel since humanity has entered that historic period known as the "time of the end."

Book Righteousness Holiness and Victory Over Sin

Download or read book Righteousness Holiness and Victory Over Sin written by Karl Kemp and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2015-10-13 with total page 286 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This e-book, which deals to a large extent with the interpretation of passages of the Bible (especially the New Testament) that deal with the super-important topic of righteousness, holiness, and victory over sin is packed with good news, very good news! The New Testament clearly, and consistently, teaches that God calls, and enables, us to walk with the victory over sin, by grace through faith. No true Christian wants to sin! God hates sin, and He paid an infinite price in the Sacrifice of His Son to set us free from spiritual death and bondage to sin. We will never walk in the righteousness and holiness of God with the victory over sin BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH until we are convinced in our hearts that God has called us to such a walk and provides the grace for us to do what He has called us to do. The New Testament makes it quite clear that the victory over sin is far from being automatic, or always easy. We have powerful enemies against us: the world, the flesh (the old man who wants to continue to sin), and the devil and his hosts, but the saving grace of God in Christ is far more powerful for those who appropriate His grace by faith (a faith that is based on God and His Word). The saving grace of God in Christ includes all the work of the Holy Spirit, the infinite Spirit of God, who dwells in all true Christians. We must make living in the righteousness and holiness with the victory over sin a top priority. WE MUST AIM AT THAT TARGET! WE CERTAINLY WON'T HIT THE TARGET IF WE ARE NOT AIMING AT IT! We don't want to repeat the error of the people of Israel at Kadesh (Numbers chapters 13, 14), where they believed in their hearts (and spoke and acted accordingly) that they could not do what God had called them to do. Of course God did not expect them to defeat the Canaanites by their strength; He did, however, expect them to trust Him and walk by faith. God knows our hearts! Also, it is good to know that He has promised to forgive us IF we should sin, when we repent. This printed copy of the e-book (and the e-book) was taken, with some modifications, from the written texts behind my twenty-eight half-hour radio broadcasts that deal with this topic. This book borrows extensively from, and serves as a good introduction for, my paperback book, "Holiness and Victory Over Sin," which is available on amazon.com. I highly recommend reading this book (or the e-book) first. Like I said, it serves as a good introduction for the paperback book, and it is easier to read. If you like this book, you will also like the paperback book. The paperback book contains a large amount of information that is not included in this book, and this book contains some information that is not included in the paperback book.

Book Holiness and Ecclesiology in the New Testament

This book was released on 2007-10-26 with total page 410 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Throughout the biblical story, the people of God are expected to embody God's holy character publicly. Therefore, holiness is a theological and ecclesial issue prior to being a matter of individual piety. Holiness and Ecclesiology in the New Testament offers serious engagement with a variety of New Testament and Qumran documents in order to stimulate churches to imagine anew what it might mean to be a publicly identifiable people who embody God's very character in their particular social setting. Download or read book Believer s Baptism written by Thomas R. Schreiner and published by B&H Publishing Group. This book was released on 2007-01-01 with total page 392 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Is believer’s baptism the clear teaching of the New Testament Scriptures? What are the historical and theological challenges to believer’s baptism? What are the practical applications for believer’s baptism today? Volume two in the NEW AMERICAN COMMENTARY STUDIES IN BIBLE & THEOLOGY (NACSBT) series for pastors, advanced Bible students, and other deeply committed laypersons addresses these compelling questions. Indeed, Believer’s Baptism begins with the belief that believer’s baptism (as opposed to infant baptism or other faith proclaiming methods) is the clear teaching of the New Testament. Along the way, the argument is supported by written contributions from Andreas Kostenberger, Robert Stein, Thomas Schreiner, Stephen Wellum, Steve McKinion, Jonathan Rainbow, Shawn Wright, and Mark Dever. Users will find this an excellent extension of the long-respected NEW AMERICAN COMMENTARY.

Book excerpt: A profound exploration of how to hold on to hope when our unchanging faith collides with a changing culture, from two respected Christian storytellers and thought leaders. “Offers neither spin control nor image maintenance for the evangelical tribe, but genuine hope.”—Russell Moore, president of ERLC As the pressures of health warnings, economic turmoil, and partisan politics continue to rise, the influence of gospel-focused Christians seems to be waning. But there’s another story unfolding too—if you know where to look. In Gospelbound, Collin Hansen and Sarah Eekhoff Zylstra counter these growing fears with a robust message of resolute hope for anyone hungry for good news. Book Holiness Is Not Optional

Download or read book Holiness Is Not Optional written by Gabriel Miller and published by All Peoples Ministries. This book was released on 2019-03 with total page 172 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An unfortunate trend in today's Christianity is the de-emphasis of holiness in favor of a perverted view of "grace." The essence of the Gospel is this: I used to be evil, but God made a way for me to be good. But the average "Christian" has been duped into believing that the Gospel is this: I was evil, but God made a way for me to keep being evil and get away with it. We treat grace as if it's a magic eraser, yet we never get clean because we haven't actually repented and submitted fully to Him in total obedience. Are we saved "by grace through faith"? Absolutely! But that grace is not just freedom from the guilt of sin, but also the power of the Holy Spirit to overcome sin. And that faith is not merely believing "that" Jesus died for us; it is believing "in" Jesus to empower us by His Spirit to live lives that are pleasing to God."Holiness is Not Optional" is an invitation to rediscover essential truths about the Christian walk, to reclaim our full inheritance of grace, and to release the power of God to transform our lives. A reformation of holiness is upon us, and this book challenges its readers to join it.

Book The Righteousness of God

  • Publisher : Mohr Siebeck
  • Release : 2015-03-10
  • ISBN : 9783161535185

Download or read book The Righteousness of God written by Charles Lee Irons and published by Mohr Siebeck. This book was released on 2015-03-10 with total page 488 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Advocates of the New Perspective on Paul appeal to the view that "righteousness" in biblical theology is a Verhaltnisbegriff (relational concept). This is the view that "righteousness" does not mean conformity to a norm, nor is it an essentially legal concept; rather, "righteousness" denotes the fulfillment of the demands of a relationship, since the relationship itself is the norm. This relational interpretation of "righteousness" was first put forward by Hermann Cremer in 1899 and exercised a profound influence in biblical scholarship throughout the 20th century. It lies at the root of the New Perspective claim that "the righteousness of God" in Paul is a cipher for God's saving faithfulness to his covenant, a view defended by N. T. Wright, among others. Charles Lee Irons provides a critical examination of Cremer's chief arguments for the relational, covenant-faithfulness interpretation. The author argues instead for the view that "the righteousness of God" in Rom 1:17; 3: 21-22; 10:3; 2 Cor 5:21; and Phil 3:9 is the status of righteousness that comes from God as a gift.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: WHO ARE YOU, CHRISTIAN? This question is as old as the New Covenant itself. From the moment Christ died, all of humanity was given the opportunity to know God in a way unlike ever before. Jesus' death sealed the deal, but when He came back to life, every person on the planet now had the chance of God making His home inside of them-permanently. By grace through faith in what Jesus did for our sins, we Christians get a brand new identity from the moment we first believe. No longer living by rules, wasteful efforts, or people-pleasing, we now live and breathe by way of a supernatural relationship with the Spirit of Jesus Christ. Unfortunately, religious hierarchies who extort Christians, our main enemy, Satan, and the power of sin, all want nothing more than for us to not know what the Cross has truly done. The spiritual identity of every believer has become heaven-ready! On the inside, we are currently brand new creations! Not when our physical bodies die, but right now, we are new! My name is Matt McMillen, and over the next thirty days I'll take you on a daily devotional adventure of discovering who you really are as a child of God. Christian, you will be amazed at what the Cross has done to your identity! Thanks for joining me! Let's go!
