Book Holiness Essential to Salvation

Download or read book Holiness Essential to Salvation written by Charles Finney and published by CreateSpace. This book was released on 2014-07-20 with total page 106 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this day and age we are clearly in the "age of apostasy". Many believe that salvation is assured even in a life full of unholiness, in a life full of sin, in a life full of evil and wrongdoing. But many of the great preachers of the past, including Charles Finney, did NOT believe this way. Most importantly the bible does NOT support this false belief. On the contrary the bible warns us several times that "without holiness no man will see the Lord." (Heb 12:14). Meaning if you are not holy you will not be with God when you die. Instead you will be with the devil in Hell. To focus on some great teachings about holiness we selected the following sermons by Finney: Holiness Essential To Salvation, Holiness And The Holy Spirit, Conditions Of Attaining To Holiness, Way To Be Holy Furthermore to show that Finney's theology was sound we also included his teachings about Justification and Sanctification. If you are living in unholiness you are in grave danger and are in great need of repentance and revelation. Sincerely ask God to reveal the truth to you about holiness and about its necessity. Remember when you die and are before God your teachers and pastors are NOT going to be there with you. Are you sure you want to entrust your soul to fallible men? Search the scriptures for yourself with the help of the Holy Spirit to show you what they really mean. Eternity in Hell is much too serious to do otherwise.

Book The Gospel Mystery of Sanctification

Download or read book The Gospel Mystery of Sanctification written by Walter Marshall and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2005-01-20 with total page 270 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 'The Gospel Mystery of Sanctification' by Walter Marshall, first published in 1692, is one of the classic works of Christian spirituality. It is a deep and rich biblical study of sanctification - how Christians grow in holiness and become more like Jesus. In a day when Christians are very prone to pursue self-help methods to grow in obedience to Christ, Walter Marshall lays out the biblical way of growth: obedience comes as Christians live by grace, in union with Christ, by faith. Growth comes, as Paul says in Galatians 2:20, through "Christ living in me." The message of this book is so important for Christians today, it is essential that it be rewritten in contemporary English.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: All people have sinned and broken God's law. None of us are good (Rom. 3:10). And as a result of our sin, God commands us to repent. But what does repentance look like? In this booklet, Dr. R.C. Sproul looks at several people in the Bible and how they give us a model of repentance. Dr. Sproul explains that true repentance is not simply a religious ritual or the resolve to do better next time. Rather, it's a spiritual conversion in which we turn from our sin and to God in faith. The Crucial Questions booklet series by Dr. R.C. Sproul offers succinct answers to important questions often asked by Christians and thoughtful inquirers.

Book The Hole in Our Holiness

Download or read book The Hole in Our Holiness written by Kevin DeYoung and published by Crossway. This book was released on 2014-01-31 with total page 162 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The hole in our holiness is that we don't care much about holiness. Or, at the very least, we don't understand it. And we all have our reasons too: Maybe the pursuit of holiness seems legalistic. Maybe it feels like one more thing to worry about in your already overwhelming life. Maybe the emphasis on effort in the Christian life appears unspiritual. Or maybe you've been trying really hard to be holy and it's just not working! Whatever the case, the problem is clear: too few Christians look like Christ and too many don't seem all that concerned about it. This is a book for those of us who are ready to take holiness seriously, ready to be more like Jesus, ready to live in light of the grace that produces godliness. This is a book about God's power to help us grow in personal holiness and to enjoy the process of transformation.

Book excerpt: "The blessings of Sanctification and Justification walk hand in hand; and never were, never will be, never can be parted. No more than the delicious scent can be separated from the beautiful bloom of the rose or carnation: let the flower be expanded, and the fragrance transpires. Try if you can separate gravity from the stone or heat from the fire. If these bodies and their essential properties, if these causes and their necessary effects, are indissolubly connected, so are our justification and our sanctification"

Book HOLINESS THE FALSE AND THE TRUE H A IRONSIDE

Download or read book HOLINESS THE FALSE AND THE TRUE H A IRONSIDE written by H. A. Ironside and published by Believer's Bookshelf Canada Inc.. This book was released on 2014-12-04 with total page 191 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book, by beloved author and preacher, H. A. Ironside, should be required reading for every Christian. It details in very clear terms the author’s own struggle for holiness. It is a deeply personal account of his conversion and sub- sequent involvement with the “holiness movement.” The influence of this false teaching which placed him under the law and his struggle to be “holy” ultimately led him to a breakdown. It was through God’s Word that he began to rejoice in the wonderful truth that not only is salvation by grace, but personal sanctification and victory are by grace as well. “Sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not un der law, but under grace” (Romans 6:14). We are thankful that this book is again available for the help of any of God’s children who are struggling with these issues.

Book excerpt: A thorough study of sin, salvation by faith, and the Christian's journey of sanctification. He who wants a correct understanding of holiness must first begin by examining the vast and solemn subject of sin. He must dig down very deep if he wants to build high. Wrong views about holiness are generally traceable to wrong views about human corruption. Practical holiness and entire self-consecration to God are not given adequate attention by modern Christians. The unsaved sometimes rightly complain that Christians are not as kind and unselfish and good-natured as those who make no profession of faith. Far too many Christians make a verbal proclamation of faith, yet remain unchanged in heart and lifestyle. But Scripture makes it clear that holiness, in its place and proportion, is quite as important as justification. Holiness, without which no one shall see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14). It is imperative that Christians are biblically and truly holy. The aim of this book is to instruct you, equip you, and encourage you in the pursuit of holiness.

The show, which is performed for groups throughout the country appeals to men and women from Baby Boomers to Golden Agers. The chapters of the book deal wistfully and humorously about the way life used to be from ice cream parlors with swivel seats and 10 cent cones to home deliveries, having a "colored" cleaning woman, simple food simple times, and simple pleasures. You'11 laugh, you'11 cry, you'11 nod in agreement, you'11 reminisce. Most of all, you'11 enjoy.
