  • Pages : 89 pages

Download or read book Holding grace written by RJ Heller and published by Balboa Press. This book was released on 2013-09 with total page 89 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Holding Grace embraces a contemporary, free verse style of poetry as the voice for sharing a range of life’s experiences and emotions, creating an approachable and highly readable collection. Within these pages are recognizable tales of friendship and loss, contentment and longing, reflections on current events and locales, and the pure pleasure that may be found when one stops to soak in the beauty and rhythm of nature. The storytelling here breathes life into the moments captured. From the exuberance of a child free to swing high on a rope and drop into cool waters in Washed Anew, to the quiet reflection of a young father realizing life’s blessings on Christmas morn in A Morning Made of Perfection, the images conjured by the author strike a chord that is at once familiar and emotional. Tenderly written remembrances of childhood, tales of middle-aged angst as one feels the press of time, and backward glances at life’s choices are all countered with stories of nature’s challenging beauty, and the too infrequent simplicity of enjoying a quiet rain or a frozen breath on a cold day. This collection offers sentimental reflections on life and the memories we carry, as well as an unblinking look at the need to accept the passage of time with grace and appreciation. Pause and take in the life moments, both common and unique, that are so lovingly shared in Holding Grace.

Book Holding Fast to Grace

    Book Details:
  • Author : Roy L. Aldrich
  • Publisher :
  • Release : 2011-06-01
  • ISBN : 9780979963735
  • Pages : 110 pages

Download or read book Holding Fast to Grace written by Roy L. Aldrich and published by . This book was released on 2011-06-01 with total page 110 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: HOLDING FAST TO GRACE is a careful, biblical study of the Christian s relationship to God s grace and the Law of Moses. The conclusion is reached that the believer in Christ in the present age is under God's grace as a rule of life (Rom. 6:14) and not under any part of the Mosaic system, including the Ten Commandments, as a means of sanctification. Aldrich distinguishes between the eternal moral law of God and the Ten Commandments in a way that demonstrates from Scripture that genuine righteousness in this age of grace stems from the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit while avoiding the imbalances of licentiousness and legalism. Regarding the imbalance towards legalism, Aldrich writes, No modern legalist wants to climb to the top of Mount Sinai with its fire and thunder; but many think it is a good thing to take a short hike up its foothills. But to touch the mountain at the bottom was as fatal as climbing to the top (Heb. 12:18-21). The unity of the Mosaic law leaves only two alternatives either complete deliverance from or complete subjection to the entire system. It will be shown that the first of these alternatives is clearly taught in the New Testament (p. 57).

Book Moving from Fear to Freedom

Download or read book Moving from Fear to Freedom written by Grace Fox and published by Harvest House Publishers. This book was released on 2007-08-01 with total page 258 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Fear was not part of God's original agenda for his creation. It slithered onto the scene when Adam and Eve sinned, causing a tear in their relationship with God. And even though fear touches every life and can still debilitate people today, the news isn't all bad. Popular speaker and author Grace Fox demonstrates how believers can face their fear and actually let it be a catalyst for change. Readers will learn how to stop hiding from God and instead develop a deeper relationship with Him. This is what she calls "the upside of fear": When we cry out to God for help, He answers, and we experience Him in new ways. Each chapter highlights a particular area where readers can begin to experience freedom from fears about their personal identity, their finances, their kids, the future, and more.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We all face stress and tension in our daily lives. We might even wonder why our God of abundant goodness doesn’t remove the everyday struggles we face. Jesus’ interactions with Martha and Mary in the Gospel provide us the key to understanding how God shows us his love by allowing tensions in our lives. As we follow the sisters’ transformative journeys through their own struggles, reflecting on what transpires between Scripture verses, we see their initial tension become the catalyst that drives both Mary and Martha to the feet of Jesus — the place where all discover peace. Grace in Tension explores the areas where stress arises in our own lives. Each chapter ends with a thought-provoking prayer to inspire us to go to God with our problems, followed by questions for reflection to help us see all the ways he’s working for our good. God doesn’t create any of it, but he does show up amid life’s difficulties, ready to lead us through. No matter how big or small our struggle, when we seek him out, he reveals what we need to do to resolve our tension, transforming it into grace. When her adopted sister, Faith, is forced to defend her honor against an over-ardent saloon patron, she shoots him in self-defense. But who is going to believe four orphaned females living and working in a saloon are innocent of anything. Grace is convinced that the only chance of saving them all is to leave town in hopes the law will think her guilty and hold the other three girls harmless. A friend suggests a ruse of leaving town as a mail-order bride and that plan worked like a charm. Unfortunately for everyone concerned, the plan worked a little too well. John Malone didn’t send for a mail-order bride, but somehow he found himself wed to one. Grace is a feisty city woman who showed up out of nowhere with a written marriage proposal signed by him. He tries to explain he didn’t send for a bride and that wasn’t his signature, but no one believes him. Now, one of Creede’s prominent attorneys is forcing him to keep a promise he didn’t make, and when his new bride is arrested for murder, he’s in jeopardy of losing his reputation and his ability to make an honest living. He has a decision to make, but will his heart let him? Before this is over, it will take all of Grace’s courage and all of John’s faith to overcome the secrets, lies, and betrayals standing between them and their chance at happiness, but will it be enough?

Download or read book She Found His Grace written by Serena Dyksen and published by Destiny Image Publishers. This book was released on 2020-10-01 with total page 135 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When Serena Dyksen heard the news that over 2,200 babies remains were found on the property of abortion doctor Ulrich George Klopfer, her whole body went numb from shock. She began to sob tears of grief. Is my baby one of those remains? she questioned. Dr. Klopfer performed her abortion when she was just thirteen years old. Just months before, Serena had decided to share her abortion story. After watching one of the last scenes in the pro-life movie Unplanned, she felt it was time to share the hope and healing God had done in her life. Serenas story reads like a traumatic tale: a childhood of dysfunction, rape, abortion at thirteen years old, a pregnant teenager at the age of sixteen, health issues, and a devastating event that led her to alcohol and drug abuse. But in her book, She Found His Grace: A True Story of Hope, Love and Forgiveness After Abortion, Serena reveals the transforming power of Gods healing in her life that set her completely free. She now finds comfort from Genesis 50:20 (ESV): As for me, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today. Serena wants everyone who reads her book to know that she walks in freedom because of the transforming power of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Everyone needs to walk through the healing process of their past abortion, no matter what the circumstances, she testifies. If you dont, you will be walking through deception, pain, and all the bondage that goes with that. But the same God who sent people to show His love for me is the same God who will redeem your life too! Headlines of Dr. Ulrich Klopfers evil highlights the horrors of the abortion industry, but Serenas testimony overshadows that darkness with the truth of God's word. There is forgiveness, hope, and healing for your past abortion. God shines through my life; he can shine through yours too!
