If explanation is due from me, I feel rather that it Should be of a personal character as to why I have undertaken this work, and not as to whether the history Of the Parsis Should be recorded in an ample manner from the early period Of sovereign independ ence down to the present day of prosperous security and enlightened contentment. The whole book seems to be a collection of fragments relating to the cosmogony, mythology, and legendary history taught by Mazdayasnan tradition. The fifteenth, Mino Kherad (spirit of wisdom), as its name implies, contains an account of the "tenets, legends, and morals of the Mazdayasnan religion."
