Book excerpt: Excerpt from History of Scranton and Its People, Vol. 1 The production of this work is not of my initiation. I had no ambition in that direction. For more than two years I had at different times been approached with the idea, but not until friends in whose judgment 1 was bound to have confidence, who believed. The time fully ripe for such an undertaking, and that in virtue of the fact that my residence here reached back nearly to the beginning, persuaded me that it was my duty to entertain the suggestion, did I consider the matter. Book Steinke s Story of Scranton and Vicinity in Cartoons Classic Reprint

Download or read book Steinke s Story of Scranton and Vicinity in Cartoons Classic Reprint written by William Steinke and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2017-10-30 with total page 214 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Steinke's Story of Scranton and Vicinity in Cartoons I have two reasons for writing this book. I want to let the world know Scranton looks good to me and I want to make Scranton look good to the world. That's one reason. The other is I want to do the story in my own way and make some money. That is the main reason. Other histories of Scranton have been written and all have been read. I'm not much concerned whether this is read or not. The main issue is that it sells. If it sells I will cancel the reading obligation. But I hope it will be read. If you like it, boost. If you don't like it, boost.
