Book Store Separation

Download or read book Store Separation written by Leon H. Schindel and published by . This book was released on 1975 with total page 114 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This AGARDograph is a systematic collection of experimental results for use of engineers and designers, limited to externally carried, unpowered, unguided stores. In the sections dealing with store trajectories, the physical situation is described, the method of solution is indicated, and the final results are presented. Emphasis is on store motion in traversing the parent aircraft flowfield, with criteria for safe separation and methods of calculating flight path. Windtunnel test techniques are described, and some information on flight testing given. Analytical treatment is compared with flight and tunnel results. There are brief mentions of ejection systems and the effect of stores on aircraft performance.

Book Store Separation Trajectory Analysis

Download or read book Store Separation Trajectory Analysis written by Arthur R. Maddox and published by . This book was released on 1980 with total page 24 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A series of store drops was made at moderate to high subsonic speeds with the same configuration on the center position of a triple ejector rack on an F-4 inboard pylon. The data were compared with wind tunnel and mathematical simulations. Both estimation techniques predicted the general nature of the motion, especially at low speeds, but failed to predict a minor collision observed at high speed. (Author).

Book Store Separation Testing Techniques at the Arnold Engineering Development Center

Download or read book Store Separation Testing Techniques at the Arnold Engineering Development Center written by E. G Allee (Jr.) and published by . This book was released on 1980 with total page 44 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Dynamic drop testing is a method of trajectory simulation whereby store models which are both geometrically and dynamically scaled are released in the wind tunnel air stream and the resulting trajectories are mapped photographically. Drop testing is often used when captive trajectory testing is not feasible or for final trajectory verification prior to flight tests. (Author).

Book Self compensating Store Ejection

Download or read book Self compensating Store Ejection written by Raymond R. Maestri and published by . This book was released on 1974 with total page 74 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The report concerns the concept of a continuously adjustable ejector system which accounts for the aircraft flight condition and ejects a store with an initial angular rate and linear velocity that results in a safe, repeatable, predictable nearly ballistic trajectory throughout the aircraft/store carriage envelope. The concept is especially important in the supersonic regime where the aerodynamic forces in the disturbed flow field control the initial trajectory. (Modified author abstract).

Book excerpt: This book presents selected papers presented in the Symposium on Applied Aerodynamics and Design of Aerospace Vehicles (SAROD 2018), which was jointly organized by Aeronautical Development Agency (the nodal agency for the design and development of combat aircraft in India), Gas-Turbine Research Establishment (responsible for design and development of gas turbine engines for military applications), and CSIR-National Aerospace Laboratories (involved in major aerospace programs in the country such as SARAS program, LCA, Space Launch Vehicles, Missiles and UAVs). It brings together experiences of aerodynamicists in India as well as abroad in Aerospace Vehicle Design, Gas Turbine Engines, Missiles and related areas. It is a useful volume for researchers, professionals and students interested in diversified areas of aerospace engineering.

Book Flow field Characteristics and Aerodynamic Loads on External Stores Near the Fuselage and Wing pylon Positions of a Swept wing fuselage Model at Mach Numbers of 0 4 and 0 7

Download or read book Flow field Characteristics and Aerodynamic Loads on External Stores Near the Fuselage and Wing pylon Positions of a Swept wing fuselage Model at Mach Numbers of 0 4 and 0 7 written by R. H. Roberts and published by . This book was released on 1974 with total page 150 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Experimental data were obtained to aid in the prediction of aerodynamic loads and separation-trajectory characteristics on stores under the influence of an aircraft flow field. Four types of data were obtained in the vicinity of a generalized aircraft model: (1) flow field surveys, using a 40-deg cone probe, to determine the local velocity field, (2) force and moment data on four store models, (3) pressure distribution data on an ogive-cylinder model, and (4) captive-trajectory store separation data on one store model. The generalized aircraft model consisted of a swept-wing/fuselage combination with rectangular, flow-through engine ducts.
