Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: High Pressure Pumps provides a look into recent experience and research to help engineers, scientist and end users to understand the technical side of pumps, nozzles and accessories that have been developed for special applications. High pressure system design with formulas to calculate pressure drop, orifice size, cleaning paths, horsepower, torque and trouble shooting that may not be found in any other single book are included. High pressure pumps and systems are used in shipbuilding, steel mills, automotive plants, research, petrochemical and water jetting industries. This book covers high pressure pumps used in water jetting, cryogenics, hot fluid pumping, chemical pumping and oil field services. The development of 10,000 psi to 40,000 psi pumps over the lat 30 years is covered along with the auxiliary hardware needed to do surface preparation, high pressure cleaning and water jet cutting. * Goes a step further than manufacturer's manuals and to explore applications and system design * Only book on the market that covers this technology from installation to management * Need to know reference for operating high pressure pumps

Book Abrasive Water Jet Perforation and Multi Stage Fracturing

Download or read book Abrasive Water Jet Perforation and Multi Stage Fracturing written by Zhongwei Huang and published by Gulf Professional Publishing. This book was released on 2017-10-19 with total page 326 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Abrasive Water Jet Perforation and Multi-Stage Fracturing gives petroleum engineers, well completion managers and fracturing specialists a critical guide to understanding all the details of the technology including materials, tools, design methods and field applications. The exploitation and development of unconventional oil and gas resources has continued to gain importance, and multi-stage fracturing with abrasive water jets has emerged as one of the top three principal methods to recover unconventional oil and gas, yet there is no one collective reference to explain the fundamentals, operations and influence this method can deliver. The book introduces current challenges and gives solutions for the problems encountered. Packed with references and real-world examples, the book equips engineers and specialists with a necessary reservoir stimulation tool to better understand today’s fracturing technology. Provides understanding of the fundamentals, design and application of water jet perforation Examines the pressure boosting assembly in all phases including initiation, hydraulic isolation and production stage Evaluates production analysis, pump pressure predictions and the latest design software Introduces current challenges and gives solutions for the problems encountered

Book Water jet assisted Cutting

Download or read book Water jet assisted Cutting written by and published by . This book was released on 1985 with total page 96 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Greater mining productivity requires a more efficient cutting process. The cutting force available from today?s mining machines has been optimized with respect to machine size and weight. Researchers have shown that when employing water-jet-assisted cutting, bit forces and drum torques can be reduced significantly, which may allow mining machines to become lighter and more efficient. The Bureau of Mines has initiated a program to develop a water- jet-assisted rotary cutting system using the conventional bit assisted by a directed water jet operating at moderate pressures (3,000 to 10,000 psi). This water-jet-assisted cutting system has the potential to improve cutting efficiency without increasing machine horsepower or water usage (beyond what is presently used for dust control) or requiring fundamental changes in mining practice. IR addition to improvements in productivity, other anticipated benefits of water-jet cutting include reduced generation of respirable dust, elimination of frictional ignitions, increased bit life, reduced fines, and fewer machine vibrations. The papers presented at this open industry meeting discuss the development of water-jet-assisted cutting technology and future application of this technology to a variety of mining techniques including roof drilling and longwall mining.

Book Jet Cutting Technology

Download or read book Jet Cutting Technology written by A. Lichtarowicz and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 621 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume contains papers presented at the 11th International Conference on Jet Cutting Technology, held at St. Andrews, Scotland, on 8-10 September 1992. Jetting techniques have been successfully applied for many years in the field of cleaning and descaling. Today, however, jet cutting is used in operations as diverse as removing cancerous growths from the human body, decommissioning sunsea installations and disabling explosive munitions. The diversity is reflected in the papers presented at the conference. The papers were divided into several main sections: jetting basics -- materials; jetting basics -- fluid mechanics; mining and quarrying; civil engineering; new developments; petrochem; cleaning and surface treatment; and manufacturing. The high quality of papers presented at the conference has further reinforced its position as the premier event in the field. The volume will be of interest to researchers, developers and manufacturers of systems, equipment users and contractors.
