Book Vapor liquid Equilibria of Carbon Dioxide hydrocarbon Systems at Moderately High Pressure

Download or read book Vapor liquid Equilibria of Carbon Dioxide hydrocarbon Systems at Moderately High Pressure written by Hasan Orbey and published by . This book was released on 1983 with total page 428 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "A new vapor-liquid equilibrium apparatus was constructed to measure temperature, pressure, and phase compositions up to 8 MPa. Systems of CO(,2) with 2-methyl-1-pentene, 1-hexene, 1-heptene and m-xylene were studied at 303.15 K, 323.15 K, and 343.15 K.A general method was proposed for equation of state construction. Two equations of State were constructed. Using critical temperature, critical pressure, critical compressibility factor and acentric factor, these equations can predict saturation properties of normal fluids. The equations were extended to mixtures using van der Waals' one fluid theory, Lee-Kesler corresponding state approach and a virial-like approach. They had limited predictive abilities compared to cubic equations. A correlation for third virial coefficients of nonpolar gases was developed. The correlation requires the knowledge of critical temperature, critical pressure and acentric factor and is applicable to mixtures of nonpolar gases including quantum gases. Predictions are in good agreement with reported experimental data."--

Book Vapor liquid Equilibrium Data at High Pressure

Download or read book Vapor liquid Equilibrium Data at High Pressure written by Shūzō Ōe and published by Elsevier Science & Technology. This book was released on 1990 with total page 394 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: High pressure vapor-liquid equilibrium data are important when very pure compounds are to be prepared, and they are also needed for high pressure liquid or supercritical chromatography. This volume is a compilation of high pressure vapor-liquid equilibrium data for 700 binary system, processed and plotted by computer for ready inspection of the whole spectrum. The information given for each system comprises: the components' names, chemical formulae, cited literature, and critical temperature, critical pressures, acentric factors of the components, optimized values of the parameters for the Peng-Robinson equations, the errors, and phase diagrams for visual comparison of the experimental data and calculated values. An alphabetical index by system name is included in the book which will be a useful reference for chemical engineers, research chemists, and graduate students who are interested in the chemical process industry.

Book CRC Handbook of Applied Thermodynamics

Download or read book CRC Handbook of Applied Thermodynamics written by David A. Palmer and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2019-07-23 with total page 284 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This practical handbook features an overview of the importance of physical properties and thermodynamics; and the use of thermo-dynamics to predict the extent of reaction in proposed new chem-ical combinations. The use of special types of data and pre-diction methods to develop flowsheets for probing projects; and sources of critically evaluated data, dividing the published works into three categories depending on quality are given. Methods of doing one's own critical evaluation of literature, a list of known North American contract experimentalists with the types of data mea-sured by each, methods for measuring equilibrium data, and ther-modynamic concepts to carry out process opti-mization are also featured.
