Book Hidden in the Cleft of the Rock

Download or read book Hidden in the Cleft of the Rock written by Susan J. Perry and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2018-09-28 with total page 160 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Why the clefts of the rock you say? It seems like this is the hidden places where you can run in and find shelter during the attacks of the enemy; during those broken times when you cannot seem to face anyone else. Those times when you are hard pressed to find God much less be blessed by Him. Those dry times when it seems like everything you say and do dry up in you unto the very marrow of your bones. Who can find you during these times? You have only one source and only one resource and He is our God and He is all you need. Let us define cleft: a fissure or split, especially one in rock or the ground; crevice, break, fracture or rent. Women I have found out we are creatures who crave safety. Even in relationships they need to know they're safe in order for their hearts to give in and flourish. When I heard this, it made so much sense to me because that was exactly how I felt during times in my own life. The cleft of the rocks were a place of safety and hiding and women have this needy thing to be safe. It's okay and God is calling them out in this book, out into the Promised Land flowing with milk and honey where He will take care of every detail and not man.Jeremiah 23:24 Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD. Come out because your God has seen you. He has seen your hurt and betrayal; He has seen your pain and rejection and He is right there with you. He said in the Word that He would never leave you nor forsake you. Now forgive all and gently take the first steps out into the bright sunlight which will hurt your eyes at first, maybe be a little too bright but don't be afraid. Your God is with you and He will guide you back into all truth and love. Wasn't He the Shepherd Jesus Christ who went after the one leaving the 99 behind to fend for themselves? Get up, dust yourself off and be encouraged that someone needs to hear your testimony and many will read it, chew on it, ponder it and pray for you as well. Be strong and of a good courage as your waiting shall never be in vain but to the pure joy of the readers who already love what you have to say, can be a help to you. It's a great story; it's God-given, Savior-driven and Holy Spirit inspired so let's move on from here and get you started.

Book In the Cleft of the Rock

Download or read book In the Cleft of the Rock written by Michael Webb and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2007-05 with total page 158 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Where is the "cleft of the rock?" How do we get there? What will we find once we arrive? Both Moses and the Shulamite woman had extraordinary encounters with God in the cleft of the rock. What did they discover hidden there, and why is it important for us? In the Cleft of the Rock offers dramatic Biblical insights into the process of bringing the soul into submission to the spirit, and thereby walking in the Glory of God on a daily basis. If you sincerely desire to see the Glory of God manifested in your life, this book is for you. The Apostle Peter instructs us that the "completion, or the perfection, of our faith is the saving of the soul." What does this mean, and how do we accomplish it? This book answers those questions, and many more. Michael Webb graduated from the University of Florida with High Honors and obtained his J.D. from the same university. He has spent over two decades studying the Bible. He previously published two Biblically-based supernatural thrillers, The Master's Quilt and Balaam's Error. Currently, he is the U.S. Director of The Obed Project, a non-profit ministry that focuses on educational and service tours to Israel. Michael and his wife, Ophelia, make their home in North Carolina. Together they have traveled to such diverse places as the Ukraine, Honduras, and Israel, teaching the Word of God.

Book excerpt: What if fear is the new brave? That's the question that you need answered if you are living afraid. Finding courage begins with fear itself--fear of the Lord. I Choose Brave reveals a countercultural plan to help you where you are--knee-deep in fears of parenting, the future, your marriage, and a world that feels unstable. When you're feeling fearful, the last thing you need is a social-media meme telling you to simply "power through" your fears. In I Choose Brave, Katie Westenberg digs deep into Scripture and shows that finding the courage to overcome our fears must start with fear of the Lord. Hundreds of passages speak to this foundational truth, yet we have somehow relegated them to antiquity. In sharing her own compelling story of facing her worst fear, Katie serves up theological truth with relatable application. In this book, you will · discover a fresh take on an old truth that displaces fear once and for all · understand why the culture's idea of "fearlessness" is a farce · access the holy courage you were made for With this new knowledge comes tremendous freedom. Hidden in the cleft of the Rock, the One truly worthy of our fear, you will begin to understand the only path to real courage.

Book Dancing about Architecture is a Reasonable Thing to Do

Download or read book Dancing about Architecture is a Reasonable Thing to Do written by Joel Heng Hartse and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2022-02-07 with total page 164 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Writing about music, far from being the specialized domain of the rock critic with encyclopedic knowledge of micro-genres or the fancy-pants star journalist flying on private planes with Led Zeppelin, has become something almost any music lover can do—and does. It’s been said, however, that writing about music is a difficult, even pointless enterprise—an absurd impossibility, like “dancing about architecture.” But aside from the fact that dancing about architecture would be awesome, what is that ineffable something that drives people to write about music at all? In this short, insightful book, Joel Heng Hartse unpacks the rock writer Richard Meltzer’s assertion that writing about music should be a “parallel artistic effort” with music itself—and argues that music and the impulse to write about it is part of the eminently mysterious desire for meaning-making that makes us human. Touching on the close resonances between music, language, love, and belief, Dancing about Architecture is a Reasonable Thing to Do is relevant to anyone who finds deep human and spiritual meaning in music, writing, and the mysterious connections between them.
