Book Here You Go Again God

Download or read book Here You Go Again God written by Lee Hanson and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2017-08-18 with total page 122 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Think Mission Impossible with miracles around every turn, and you’ll have, Here You Go Again, God! Events that happen to each of us happen to the Hansons—unexpected, complicated life challenges and heartbreaking, seemingly hopeless medical diagnoses. The Hansons also seem to attract adventures that keep the Lord busy, protecting and saving them from sure death! In all of this and then some, the Lord has been with Lee and her family, answering prayers and working almost unbelievable miracles! Excerpts from various chapters in HERE YOU GO AGAIIN, GOD! “Mrs. Hanson, the medicine did not dissolve the clot in your husband’s brain. I have to do surgery immediately! We may lose him, or he may be severely impaired, even with surgery, but we have to try, or he’ll be in a vegetative state the rest of his life!” ******************************************************** So touched was Dave’s dad by the upturned, attentive faces before him, he almost didn’t notice someone who came in late and stood alone in the back. A moment later, though, he realized the man who had just entered was the witch doctor! Dad took a deep breath and prayed for strength, as he wondered if there were men outside, ready to attack! ******************************************************** At first we were speechless! Then I cried, “Mom, why didn’t you ever tell us about this before? It’s amazing! A miracle that the Lord let you see! You saw Jesus come to carry Dad to Heaven? Why didn’t you tell us?”

Book excerpt: A New York Times Notable Book A Kirkus Reviews Best Book of 2012 A bold approach to understanding the American evangelical experience from an anthropological and psychological perspective by one of the country's most prominent anthropologists. Through a series of intimate, illuminating interviews with various members of the Vineyard, an evangelical church with hundreds of congregations across the country, Tanya Luhrmann leaps into the heart of evangelical faith. Combined with scientific research that studies the effect that intensely practiced prayer can have on the mind, When God Talks Back examines how normal, sensible people—from college students to accountants to housewives, all functioning perfectly well within our society—can attest to having the signs and wonders of the supernatural become as quotidian and as ordinary as laundry. Astute, sensitive, and extraordinarily measured in its approach to the interface between science and religion, Luhrmann's book is sure to generate as much conversation as it will praise.

Book Conversations with God for Teens

Download or read book Conversations with God for Teens written by Neale Donald Walsch and published by Hampton Roads Publishing. This book was released on 2012-10-01 with total page 250 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Suppose you could ask God any question and get an answer. What would it be? Young people all over the world have been asking those questions. So Neale Donald Walsch, author of the internationally bestselling Conversations with God series had another conversation. Conversations with God for Teens is a simple, clear, straight-to-the-point dialogue that answers teens questions about God, money, sex, love, and more. Conversations with God for Teens reads like a rap session at a church youth group, where teenagers discuss everything they ever wanted to know about life but were too afraid to ask God. Walsch acts as the verbal conduit, showing teenagers how easy it is to converse with the divine. When Claudia, age 16, from Perth, Australia, asks, "Why can't I just have sex with everybody? What's the big deal?", the answer God offers her is: "Nothing you do will ever be okay with everybody. 'Everybody' is a large word. The real question is can you have sex and have it be okay with you?" There's no doubt that the casual question-and-answer format will help make God feel welcoming and accessible to teens. Conversations with God for Teens is the perfect gift purchase for parents, grandparents, and anyone else who wants to provide accessible spiritual content for the teen(s) in their lives.

Their tranquility is disrupted by the nocturnal arrival of an uninvited guest. Will their marriage survive the threat of a triangular relationship as they tackle the multiple issues of another inhabitant of Haven Acres? Will their newfound faith in Christ withstand the challenges they will face? Will Stella, who previously abandoned her husband and infant son, assume the role of faithful wife and devoted mother? Find out if the Crosleys manage to achieve persuasive proof. I was delighted to find that Haven Acres was still very much alive in Persuasive Proof, the sequel to Dave Barkeys first novel Persistent Pursuit. The familiar and memorable personalities continue their adventures. Brad Crosley, principal of the local elementary school, and his wife Stella are in the process of making a comfortable Christian home for their son Gerald. The author beautifully and sensitively draws the reader into Brads struggles to balance his responsibilities among nurturing his family, running the elementary school, participating in church activities, and cultivating relationships in the community. The story intensifies as Brad and Stella reach out to a desperate Sally, offering shelter and hope. This new-found hope is threatened by unforeseen challenges only to realize later that God had a better plan. Thank you, Dave Barkey, for another inspiring book and Im already anticipating the next. Book excerpt: The Bible is the most quoted book in the western world, and likely the most misunderstood. It is often thought to be little more than religious mythology, or a collection of moral and ethical guidelines, or a series of quaint but irrelevant legends. But what if the Bible were read on its own terms, as a highly personal and unbelievably passionate love story? What if the Bible is really a wild tale of relentless pursuit, the diary of a God who can’t bear to be separated from the people he loves? In God on Paper you’ll share in a conversation that takes a new look at Scripture, a dialogue that entertains doubts and questions about the value–and the validity–of the Bible. And you’ll encounter an amazing love story of divine proportions. Go ahead and join the conversation. You might be surprised by what you find.

Book True Story I Swear It Maybe

Download or read book True Story I Swear It Maybe written by Harvey Cappel and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2013-08 with total page 138 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For as far back as I can remember, I have told stories. I can take nearly any situation or event and make a funny story of it. Life is too short to miss out on the fun part. Also for many years I have been writing articles and short stories for various newsletters, newspapers, and even national magazines; some paid but most for free. I enjoy writing to entertain, to inform, and to educate. I have a different view of the world than the average person and not afraid of sharing it. I have, for many years, wanted to write a book but thought that anything I would have to say would be out of date before I finished the book. And then one day, not too long ago, I had an epiphany life stories, humor, fun philosophy, and basic life lessons don't go out of date. So I wrote this book. The book is a collection of family stories, tall tales, a few reprints of previously published newspaper articles, a little fun philosophy, and a technical issue or two. Except for a very few of the stories, as noted in the stories, all are original works of mine. The contents are, as you will notice, printed and listed simply, alphabetically. I thought this random arrangement would minimize the potential for one to lose interest and fall asleep reading various versions of the same thing. My intent in writing this book was not just to make some extra cash, but to put down in writing, in a more permanent form, some of my life's experiences, crazy ideas, and a little technical correctness, for family, friends, and a few others to enjoy. Please enjoy.

John Piper's contemporary classic draws on key biblical texts to demonstrate that worship is the ultimate goal of the church and that proper worship fuels missionary outreach. Piper offers a biblical defence of God's supremacy in all things, providing a sound theological foundation for missions. He examines whether Jesus is the only way to salvation and issues a passionate plea for God-centredness in the missionary enterprise, seeking to define the scope of the task and the means for reaching 'all nations'. This third edition has been revised and expanded throughout and includes new material on the 'prosperity gospel'.

She's thrust into a love triangle that she wants no part of and suddenly, a streamlined future to success in the medical field is the last thing on her mind - all she sees now is a shade of gray.
