Refers to what appears to be notes of William Duer's and hopes to get the proceeds by Wednesday. Asks the addressee to do this only if it is convenient. Knox notes in a struck-out section that the recipient is to go to Thomas Randall for a receipt. This letter appears to have been cut on one of the margins as words and sentences end abruptly.

Warns that he needs to come through or his reputation will suffer. Writes, Please to inform Lady Kitty that Mrs Knox on the 8th instant presented me with ... another child ... her tenth - This little stranger is a daughter, and the most lovely we have been blessed with. Says Lucy is as well as could be wished.
