Book Hello Dears

Download or read book Hello Dears written by Milinda Rose Atallian and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2010-10-25 with total page 80 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Hello Dears” is a book told through emails (mostly), that I wrote to the most important people in my life. This book is about my personal journey through Breast Cancer. When I was first told that I had Breast Cancer, I needed a way to be in touch with all of the people that I knew would be concerned for me. I didn’t want to spend my time on the phone repeating myself again and again and again. So, I decided to write to the people that were in my address book on our computer. I figured that, if they were in my address book, then they new me well enough to know what was going on. My immediate feeling when I was told, was concern for my husband, our daughter, and my family. I have said this to them, to my Dears, and to everyone that I’ve shared my story with – I would much rather be the one battling, than anyone that is close to me. I can’t imagine how they must have felt hearing that someone that they care about had the c-word. So, I started to type emails and send them out each step of the way. I wanted them all to know that I was in fighter’s mode. I wanted them all to know that I was going to be OK. I wanted them all to know that forward motion is what got me through each and every turn of this ride. I wanted them to check their ta-ta’s and tell their friends to do the same. And, I wanted them to share my story with as many people as possible, so that they too could save their lives with early detection. I tried, as best I could, to keep a strong sense of humor throughout the process. That, in turn, made the writing a lot lighter and hopefully entertaining. Each step of the way, I let My Dears know what we were going through and what was to come. Again, I wanted them to know what we were dealing with, so that they wouldn’t worry as much about the unknown. I wanted to educate them, as best I could, so that they could do the same as they passed my story along. This book covers everything from the discovery of my lump, to the reconstruction of my new ta-ta’s and everything in between. My hope is, that when people read this book, they too will realize that with forward motion, and positivity, you can overcome and be stronger. I know that my battle with the c-word will never truly be over. This book is for my Dears, and for all of those that have been touched by the c-word. This book is for my daughter, so that when she is mature enough to “know”, she will understand what Mommy went through and how I kicked the c-words ass. Reagan will learn just how much her being on this earth has helped me get through it all.

Book excerpt: This is a strange book. Make no bones about it, it's weird. What can you do? I suppose you don't have to read it. But then what would be the point of all the words sitting there if you don't even bother to read them eh? I don't know, what are you like? Thinking of jumping ship already? Lightweight. Okay. So...this book is weird, it's strange but, hopefully, it's fun! Good! Let it be so! Okie dokie then. That'll do for a prologue won't it? I don't know, do I have to say anything else? What goes into a prologue then? It's sort of the stuff before the main stuff isn't it? Um, well, er, I can't be arsed! Oh yeah...um...no... I forgot. Oh well, without further ado... hold on, I've just thought of something, yeah... SO you lot are lucky in a way, because I've read this book loooooads of times and the words by this point have kind of lost all meaning - but for you they probably still have that "new book" feeling to them. Good for you!

Book excerpt: The author of forty-five New York Times bestselling novels, Sandra Brown is one of the romance world’s most acclaimed writers. Rendezvous magazine has praised her as a novelist whose “larger than life heroes and heroines make you believe all the warm, wonderful, wild things in life.” Now, in the classic romantic tradition her fans have come to love, here is another sexy and extraordinary tale of passion—the story of a woman who gives up fame and fortune...and discovers true love in the last place she expected to find it. The Rana Look The modeling world called it the Rana Look...the exotic, one-of-a-kind allure that only supermodel Rana Ramsey could deliver. With her green eyes, olive skin, and wildly lustrous auburn hair, Rana posed for ad campaigns and strutted down runways all over the world, naming her own price to sell everything from cosmetics to women’s lingerie. But all of that suddenly ended one day when she looked her demanding mother-manager in the eye and said, “Enough.” That was the day Rana packed her things and left New York—and modeling—forever. Settling in Miss Ruby’s boardinghouse in Galveston, Texas, Rana finds success with her own busines—and cultivates a new look to go with her new life. Now her beautiful eyes are shielded behind tinted glasses, her famous figure hidden under shapeless dresses, her trademark wild hair falling straight down her back. Rana knows she’ll never attract a man this way, and that’s just fine with her—that is, until Ruby’s nephew, football star Trent Gamblin, moves in to nurse his injured shoulder. Ruggedly handsome, charming, and undeniably charismatic, Trent is the kind of man that Rana finds irresistible...the kind of man she is certain would never look twice at a woman as ordinary as the new Rana. But to her surprise, Trent seems unfazed by her Plain Jane look. For he is drawn to a beauty that Rana can’t hide. He is determined to learn the mystery behind the elusive, reclusive boarder with the secret past. To do so, he proposes an unusual pact: they will only be friends, nothing more.As the days pass, Rana and Trent are drawn together in a sensual idyll unlike anything either of them has ever known. But the outside world cannot be kept at bay forever. And Rana fears that when Trent learns the truth about her past, he’ll feel betrayed and deceived. Even worse, he’ll never be able to see her as she truly is. Then an unexpected tragedy strikes, and the stakes seem higher than ever. Now they must look deep into each other’s heart to determine if their relationship is just an impossibly erotic dream—or a dream of love come true.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: People like Feeney Simms don’t commit suicide. Beautiful, charismatic, mother of two, wife to a handsome, successful husband, beloved by her friends—this is not the typical picture of a tortured soul. But one summer night, Feeney drives to the beach and swallows a handful of pills. No note, no explanation, nothing. Like that, she’s gone. Faced with this loss, Ali, Max, and Liddy, Feeney’s closest friends, are left reeling, grappling with the devastating cocktail of grief, guilt, and anger that’s left in the wake of a suicide. In a desperate attempt to avoid further loss, the three women make the unorthodox (and very Feeney-like) decision to hold their own funerals while they are still alive—and the experience changes each of them in ways they couldn’t have imagined.

After the family tragedy, Mara's father took her to the opposite end of the country, where she made a tidy life for herself in western Massachusetts, with a good education, stable job, and loving girlfriend. Her half-sister, Shannon, was left behind with their mother in San Diego. Surviving on disability checks and handouts from family, Shannon can't remember a time when Linda wasn't drunk. When a heart attack lands Linda in the hospital, Shannon's first impulse is to skip town—to finally escape her mother's orbit and make her sister step up. While Mara gave up on Linda years ago and couldn't have less in common with her sister, an unemployed stoner, it's time for her to stop running from everything that makes her have feelings. This is a novel about the persistent, mystifying ties of family, the extravagant mess of addiction, and what it means to actually live inside your own life.
