This book was released on 2019-01-25 with total page 496 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The National Wildfire Coordinating Group provides national leadership to enable interoperable wildland fire operations among federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial partners. Primary objectives include: Establish national interagency wildland fire operations standards. Recognize that the decision to adopt standards is made independently by the NWCG members and communicated through their respective directives systems; Establish wildland fire position standards, qualifications requirements, and performance support capabilities (e.g. training courses, job aids) that enable implementation of NWCG standards; Support the National Cohesive Wildland Fire Management Strategy goals: to restore and maintain resilient landscapes; create fire adapted communities; and respond to wildfires safely and effectively; Establish information technology (IT) capability requirements for wildland fire; and Ensure that all NWCG activities contribute to safe, effective, and coordinated national interagency wildland fire operations. The objectives of the "Interagency Helicopter Operations Guide" (IHOG) are to: Promote safe, cost-efficient and effective aviation services in support of agency and interagency goals and objectives; Define and standardize national, interagency helicopter management and operational procedures for helicopter users from participating agencies; Through standardization, facilitate the ability of personnel from different agencies to work cooperatively on incidents or projects; and Provide a framework within which areas, regions, states, and local units can provide supplemental, site-specific guidance. The procedures contained in this guide apply to helicopter operations conducted by providers and users of helicopters from participating agencies. This guide addresses both incident and resource helicopter operations.

Book Helicopter Maneuvers Manual

Download or read book Helicopter Maneuvers Manual written by Ryan Dale and published by Aviation Supplies & Academics. This book was released on 2011 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Providing a detailed look at helicopter maneuvers, the information in this guide helps to solidify concepts gained from flight training in a student pilot's mind by incorporating the Practical Test Standards into every maneuver description. The graphical and textual explanations work in conjunction with an instructor's lessons, allowing students to prepare before sessions and to review afterwards as well. There are many guides to flight maneuvers and how to fly them in airplanes but none specifically made for helicopters, and not in the complete and fully color-illustrated way as presented in "Helicopter Maneuvers Manual." This handbook will be of immense help to flight instructors teaching helicopter maneuvers, following the FAA's practical test standards for certification of helicopter pilots. This book not only helps in training but can also be used for reference throughout the helicopterpilot's flight career. It provides readers with a crystal-clear picture of what level of performance is expected of them every step and includes insights into the common errors associated with each move.

To address an increase in fatal helicopter air ambulance accidents, the FAA is implementing new operational procedures and additional equipment requirements for helicopter air ambulance operations. This final rule also increases safety for commercial helicopter operations by revising requirements for equipment, pilot testing, and alternate airports. It increases weather minimums for all general aviation helicopter operations. Many of these requirements address National Transportation Safety Board safety recommendations, and are already found in FAA guidance. Today's changes are intended to provide certificate holders and pilots with additional tools and procedures that will aid in preventing accidents.
