Book Principles Of Heating Ventilation And Air Conditioning With Worked Examples

Download or read book Principles Of Heating Ventilation And Air Conditioning With Worked Examples written by Nihal E Wijeysundera and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2015-11-25 with total page 715 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents the most current design procedures in heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), available in handbooks, like the ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers) Handbook-2013 Fundamentals, in a way that is easier for students to understand. Every effort is made to explain in detail the fundamental physical principles that form the basis of the various design procedures.A novel feature of the book is the inclusion of about 15 worked examples in each chapter, carefully chosen to highlight the diverse aspects of HVAC design. The solutions for the worked examples clarify the physical principles behind the design method. In addition, there are problems at the end of each chapter for which numerical answers are provided. The book includes a series of MATLAB programs that may be used to solve realistic HVAC design problems, which in general, require extensive and repetitive calculations. remove Supplementary materials are available upon request for all instructors who adopt this book as a course text. Please send your request to [email protected].

Book Handbook of Dehumidification Technology

Download or read book Handbook of Dehumidification Technology written by G.W. Brundrett and published by Butterworth-Heinemann. This book was released on 2013-10-22 with total page 241 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Handbook of Dehumidification Technology is a handbook of dehumidifiers and how they work. This manual describes the principles of dehumidification and looks at the domestic and industrial applications of dehumidifiers, along with design considerations for refrigerant dehumidifiers. The use of dehumidification in swimming pools and for food and flower storage is also discussed. This reference guide is comprised of 11 chapters and begins with an introduction to dehumidification, paying particular attention to how it addresses the problems created by high water vapor content in air. The historical development of air drying and the use of psychrometric charts to describe the state of damp air as well as to illustrate ways of lowering the relative humidity of moist air are also considered. The next chapter presents three methods of removing moisture from air: sorbent dehumidification, refrigerant dehumidification, and air-cycle dehumidification. The reader is also introduced to design considerations for refrigerant dehumidifiers, domestic applications of dehumidifiers, installation of dehumidifiers in a swimming pool, and industrial dehumidification. The final chapter is devoted to additional sources of information on dehumidifiers and dehumidification, including journals, professional bodies, and research. This monograph will be a valuable resource for technicians and others interested in humidity control.

Book HVAC Principles and Systems

Download or read book HVAC Principles and Systems written by Dr. Ilango Sivaraman and published by Dr Ilango Sivaraman. This book was released on 2019-07-16 with total page 79 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As Humans’ need for comfort living takes priority, Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning systems (HVAC)would assume more importance and priority – The number and percentage of people opting, creating and living in conditioned spaces might also serve as an index for living standards. In my search for understanding the different types of styles and configurations of HVAC systems - I finally realized that I could understand the different executions only if I work with a HVAC company. This somehow materialized – I started working for Superior air- a HVAC subcontractor engaged in providing, installing HVAC systems in San Diego City in California. My learning started with studying their installations, visiting job sites and looking at construction and approved drawings. I also had the opportunity to interact with construction supervisors, experts in HVAC systems, and construction workers. The installations I visited are mostly in commercial / office buildings and involved almost all the types mentioned in the book. To facilitate ease of understanding, the book includes maximum possible images of the systems/ lay outs. I will be extremely thankful to the readers if they could give me feedback comments and any other information/images that can be included for regular updates.

Download or read book Refrigeration Air Conditioning and Heat Pumps Technical Options Committee 2002 written by United Nations Environment Programme and published by UNEP/Earthprint. This book was released on 2003-09 with total page 213 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The 2002 assessment report, produced under the Montreal Protocol on ozone depleting substances, finds that technical progress has been made by the refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump industry to comply with requirements to phase out CFCs and in several applications, HCFCs as well. However, there is still a significant amount of installed refrigeration equipment still using CFCs and HCFCs, and so service demand remains high and is best minimised by preventive service, containment, retrofit, recovery and recycling.

Book Heat Pumps for Sustainable Heating and Cooling

Download or read book Heat Pumps for Sustainable Heating and Cooling written by Y. H. Venus Lun and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2019-11-13 with total page 137 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book highlights the significance of using sustainable energy to prevent the deterioration of our planet using heat pumps. Energy sustainability can be achieved through improved energy efficiency. In this regard, heat pumps offer an energy-efficient alternative for heating and cooling. To drive the adoption of heat pumps as a key component of sustainable buildings, the authors focus on examining sustainable practices in heat pump operations and innovative system design. In view of the growing desire to use sustainable energy to meet heating and cooling demands and improve indoor air quality, this book offers a valuable reference guide to the available options in HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning) system design. To begin with, the authors define sustainable energy and discuss the trend of “thinking green” in building design. They then discuss sustainable practices and heat pump applications in mapping out HVAC systems. In turn, they examine the use of green operations to promote sustainable practices and, in order to highlight the importance of innovative design, discuss the configuration options and precision control aspects. In closing, the authors illustrate innovative sustainable design on the basis of several energy-efficient cases. The book’s main goal is to drive the adoption of sustainable energy solutions. Heat pumps, it argues, represent the most efficient system for meeting commercial/recreational/residential heating and cooling demands. The book not only examines industrial practices in heat pump application, but also discusses advanced heat pump technologies and innovative heat pump designs.
