Book Determining the Enthalpy and Specific Heat Capacity of Beryllium in the Interval 600 2 200 Degrees K

Download or read book Determining the Enthalpy and Specific Heat Capacity of Beryllium in the Interval 600 2 200 Degrees K written by P. B. KANTOR and published by . This book was released on 1961 with total page 1 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Results are presented of the experimental determination of the enthalpy of pure beryllium in the temperature interval 600--2,000 K in the solid and liquid states, as well as for the melting point and the heat of the transition phase. The coefficients of interpolation equations for the enthalpy and the heat capacity of beryllium in the interval of temperature indicated are reported. (Author).

Book THE HEAT CAPACITY OF BERYLLIUM CARBIDE POWDER IN STAINLESS STEEL CAPSULES AS A FUNCTION OF TEMPERATURE 400 1800 F

Download or read book THE HEAT CAPACITY OF BERYLLIUM CARBIDE POWDER IN STAINLESS STEEL CAPSULES AS A FUNCTION OF TEMPERATURE 400 1800 F written by and published by . This book was released on 1949 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The mean heat capacity of a sample of powdered beryllium carbide, a possible moderator material for a nuclear reactor, was determined as a function of temperature. A thin-walled stainless steel capsule containing the material was heated in an electric furnace and dropped into a water calorimeter. The following linear equation for mean heat capacity over the temperature range 50 f C-T f C as a function of temperature, T, was derived from the data by the method of least squares: C/sub p/ = 0.299 + 2.16 x 10−4 T f C el temperatures 0.005 cal gm−1(f C)/sup -1/. The numerical value of C/sub p/ expressed by this equation is also equal to the mean heat capacity in Btu lb−1(f F)−1. (auth).

  • Pages : 49 pages

Download or read book Beryllium written by Rick Adair and published by The Rosen Publishing Group, Inc. This book was released on 2007-01-15 with total page 49 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Beryllium is a gray, brittle metal. The difficulty and expense of extracting Be from rocks are the main reasons for its obscurity. Prized for its light weight, durability, strength, and heat capacity, Beryllium is alloyed with other metals for use in jets, gyroscopes, jewelry, cameras, cell phones, golf clubs, watches, space telescopes, X-ray systems, trumpets and flutes, and nuclear reactors. An experiment simulating radioactive decay is included.

Book Handbook of Non Ferrous Metal Powders

Download or read book Handbook of Non Ferrous Metal Powders written by Oleg D Neikov and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2009-02-24 with total page 644 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The manufacture and use of the powders of non-ferrous metals has been taking place for many years in what was previously Soviet Russia, and a huge amount of knowledge and experience has built up in that country over the last forty years or so. Although accounts of the topic have been published in the Russian language, no English language account has existed until now. Six prominent academics and industrialists from the Ukraine and Russia have produced this highly-detailed account which covers the classification, manufacturing methods, treatment and properties of the non-ferrous metals ( aluminium, titanium, magnesium, copper, nickel, cobalt, zinc, cadmium, lead, tin, bismuth, noble metals and earth metals). The result is a formidable reference source for those in all aspects of the metal powder industry. Covers the manufacturing methods, properties and importance of the following metals: aluminium, titanium, magnesium, copper, nickel, cobalt, zinc, cadmium, noble metals, rare earth metals, lead, tin and bismuth Expert Russian team of authors, all very experienced English translation and update of book previously published in Russian
