She knows the desolate reality of residing in a deep dark hole, yet at the same time desperately wanting a glimpse of hope outside of that pit, allowing her to live her life again with joy. Journey alongside Kim as she reveals her grief journey of living in a gray, colorless world. At the same time, find hope and encouragement along the way as Kim sheds light on her ability to see the world around her in color again. Heartbroken Yet BarkStrong is a guide for anyone navigating their way through grief. It feels like Kim is sitting compassionately beside you, holding your hand, and providing a safe haven, all while guiding you with profound empathy and utmost sincerity. As a fellow griever, Kim gets it. Your feelings will be validated and you'll have a lifelong connection based on heartstring moments. Kim authentically exposes her readers to the darkness of grief and also reveals insights into the ability to once again experience hope and joy, all while honoring and remembering your loved one. Editorial Reviews Kim's poignant narrative in Heartbroken Yet BarkStrong beautifully captures the raw emotions of grief and the journey towards healing after the loss of a sibling. Kim artfully navigates through the pain, offering solace and understanding to those who may be experiencing similar struggles. The book delves deep into the intricate layers of grief, portraying the rollercoaster of emotions that accompanies loss. Readers are invited to embark on a journey of self-reflection and resilience, ultimately finding strength in the midst of heartache. Kim's words resonate deeply, reminding us that even in our darkest moments, we have the power to emerge stronger and more resilient than ever before. Kim's profound insights and unwavering honesty will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact, offering a glimmer of light in the midst of darkness. -Robin Fitzsimons I approached the book with equal parts trepidation and longing. I longed for a kindred soul, someone who would understand my grief. I dreaded the emotion I knew would come. My sister had passed just over twelve months prior to finding this book. I'd already navigated her birthday, the holidays, and the first anniversary of her death. Did I really want to dredge up those feelings again? What I found was the understanding I craved. White's elucidation of her feelings helped me define emotions that were still amorphous. I found comfort in the quotes scattered throughout the book, and left the work not feeling so alone. Kudos to the author for having the courage to pen her experience. I am grateful to have found this book. It is well written, and in my opinion, an asset to those who have lost a sibling. -Tricia Copeland, Author of the Bestselling Being Me series Heartbroken Yet BarkStrong takes you on a journey of grief; how it can take you down and swallow you whole. Grief has a way of giving you glimpses of hope that you may be able to survive this nightmare if only you hold onto your loved one's memory tighter and dream at night a little longer. And as the next morning arrives, you awaken with tear-filled eyes, a heart broken, and a memory you insist on keeping alive. Kim gives us permission to sit in the grief, knowing there is no end but rather an invitation to dance with it. Thank you, Kim, for taking me on the journey of your own healing so that I too could heal a little more from the grief I have endured. Love truly never dies; therefore our loved ones are always by our side. -Erin Baer, Best-selling Author Speaker

Book excerpt: One of five beloved Christmas classics A Merry Christmas collects the treasured holiday tales of Louisa May Alcott, from the dearly familiar Yuletide benevolence of Marmee and her “little women” to the timeless “What Love Can Do,” wherein the residents of a boarding house come together to make a lovely Christmas for two poor girls. Wildly popular at the time of their publication—readers deluged Alcott with letters demanding sequels—and drawing on Alcott’s family and experiences in the abolitionist and women’s suffrage movements, these stories have the authentic texture and detail of Christmas in nineteenth-century America, while their emphasis on generosity and charity make them timeless embodiments of the Christmas spirit. Penguin Christmas Classics Give the gift of literature this Christmas. Penguin Christmas Classics honor the power of literature to keep on giving through the ages. The five volumes in the series are not only our most beloved Christmas tales, they also have given us much of what we love about the holiday itself. A Christmas Carol revived in Victorian England such Christmas hallmarks as the Christmas tree, holiday cards, and caroling. The Yuletide yarns of Anthony Trollope popularized throughout the British Empire and around the world the trappings of Christmas in London. The holiday tales of Louisa May Alcott shaped the ideal of an American Christmas. The Night Before Christmas brought forth some of our earliest Christmas traditions as passed down through folk tales. And The Nutcracker inspired the most famous ballet in history, one seen by millions in the twilight of every year. Book Peter Paul Galligan

Download or read book Peter Paul Galligan written by Kevin Galligan and published by The Liffey Press. This book was released on 2012-06-01 with total page 210 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The stories of the leading figures of the Irish revolution - Michael Collins, Eamon de Valera, and guerrillas like Tom Barry and Ernie O’Malley - have been well told. But many other senior-ranking activists were equally committed. However, their experience remains obscure to most people. What was it like to try to launch the Easter Rising in a provincial town outside Dublin? What happened to the Volunteers imprisoned after the rising in maximum security prisons? How did counties such as Cavan and Wexford experience the revolution? This look at the life of Peter Paul Galligan throws light on these issues. Peter Paul Galligan joined the Irish Republican Brotherhood in 1910 and the Irish Volunteers in 1913. In 1916 he helped lead the Easter Rising in Enniscorthy. On the rebels’ surrender he was imprisoned in the harshest of conditions in Dartmoor prison - forbidden to speak to other prisoners and reduced at times to a diet of bread and water. Galligan’s story also shows the experience of the War of Independence on the ground in his native Cavan. Dublin Castle file refers to him as “one of the most dangerous men in the Rebel Movement.” As a member of Dáil Eireann, Galligan voted for the Treaty but also voted two days later for Eamon de Valera as President. In the ensuing Civil War, he stayed neutral but was in contact with the Anti-Treaty commanders. This is a fascinating story of a little known but significant contributor to Irish history.

Book How to Be an Imperfectionist

Download or read book How to Be an Imperfectionist written by Stephen Guise and published by Selective Entertainment LLC. This book was released on 2015-06-04 with total page 166 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From an early age, kids are taught to color inside the lines, and any color that strays outside the lines is considered to be a mistake that must be avoided. Perfectionism is a naturally limiting mindset. Imperfectionism, however, frees us to live outside the lines, where possibilities are infinite, mistakes are allowed, and self-judgment is minimal. The old way to approach perfectionism was to inspire people to "let go" of their need for perfection and hope they could do it. The new way is to show people how simple but highly strategic "mini actions" can empower them to gradually and effortlessly "let go" of perfectionism. This book applies the science of behavior modification directly to the roots of perfectionism, resulting in a new and superior method for change. Imperfectionists aren't so ironic as to have perfect lives: they're just happier, healthier, and more productive at doing what matters.
