Book Living in the Balance of Grace and Faith

Download or read book Living in the Balance of Grace and Faith written by Andrew Wommack and published by Destiny Image Publishers. This book was released on 2011-06-24 with total page 224 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Popular Bible teacher and host of the Gospel Truth broadcast, Andrew Wommack takes on one of the biggest controversies of the church, the freedom of God's grace verses the faith of the believer. Wommack reveals that God's power is not released from only grace or only faith. God's blessings come through a balance of both grace and faith. Addressing many of the misconceptions believers are taught in the Church today, this book opens up the Scriptures revealing the vital connection between grace and faith. Many believers think they walk in both grace and faith when actually they are misusing one or both of these principles. Wommack addresses: * Some believers willingly sin believing Gods grace will cover them, while the blessing of grace is not to sin, but to release guilt and condemnation when they make a mistake. * Other believers think they must "work" their faith by ritualistic prayer, confession, or Bible study. Although all these things are good, Jesus Christ set believers free from works of the law. God wants a relationship where He can communicate directly to each believer. * Grace and faith work together. When believers receive the unmerited favor or grace of God, they can release their faith without doubt or reservation and receive God's blessings. Andrew Wommack in his logical, practical style brings believers back on track in their Christian walk through living in the balance of grace and faith.

Book excerpt: From the time we’re little girls, we long to be loved and accepted—from the playground to the lunchroom to the places where we live and work as grown women. We do our best to prove we’re lovable and to avoid being left all alone. But the truth is that it’s impossible to walk through life without experiencing the pain and loneliness of betrayal, shame, guilt, loss, judgment, or rejection. These wounds can shape our views of ourselves, others, and God and even make us question if we are worthy of love and acceptance. Whether old or new, our heartache can convince us there’s no one who understands or cares. Yet Jesus tells us a different story. In Never Alone, author Tiffany Bluhm offers hope and encouragement that as our plans, hearts, and lives change, God does not miss a beat. What we may have mistaken for absence was only our mind questioning his goodness and grace. Tiffany reveals the depth and healing power of Jesus’ unconditional love for us and how we will never escape his love. We do not possess that kind of power. If we are willing, we can discover the sacred truth that we indeed, are never alone. Accept your invitation to find healing for your deepest hurts as we experience the unfailing companionship of Jesus—the Rescuer and Redeemer of broken lives and wounded hearts. A companion six-week Bible study Never Alone: Six Encounters with Jesus to Heal Your Deepest Hurts is also available for those who would like to dig deeper into the book's topic. Book Healing the Gospel

Download or read book Healing the Gospel written by Derek Flood and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2012-08-06 with total page 137 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Why did Jesus have to die? Was it to appease a wrathful God's demand for punishment? Does that mean Jesus died to save us from God? How could someone ever truly love or trust a God like that? How can that ever be called "Good News"? It's questions like these that make so many people want to have nothing to do with Christianity.Healing the Gospel challenges the assumption that the Christian understanding of justice is rooted in a demand for violent punishment, and instead offers a radically different understanding of the gospel based on God's restorative justice. Connecting our own experiences of faith with the New Testament narrative, author Derek Flood shows us an understanding of the cross that not only reveals God's heart of grace, but also models our own way of Christ-like love. It's a vision of the gospel that exposes violence, rather than supporting it--a gospel rooted in love of enemies, rather than retribution. The result is a nonviolent understanding of the atonement that is not only thoroughly biblical, but will help people struggling with their faith to encounter grace.

Book Healing From A Grace Perspective

Download or read book Healing From A Grace Perspective written by Sonja Parham and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2020-03-09 with total page 51 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hear And Be Healed! Do you or someone you know need healing in your physical body? If you are a born-again believer, Jesus obtained your healing two thousand years ago. Healing is already on the inside of you. It was given to you by God's grace (God's undeserved favor). You didn't deserve it or couldn't earn it, God gave it to you as a gift through Jesus Christ. Unfortunately, most believers don't experience what Jesus has already done for them because of religion and tradition of men. Wrong believing has hindered believers from receiving healing and all the finished works of Jesus Christ. You have a blood-bought right because of Jesus's blood to walk in divine health, prosperity, soundness, and wholeness. This is a covenant right! In Healing from a Grace Perspective, you will learn how to apply the Word of God with precision and accuracy to get the healing on the inside of you to manifest on your physical body. No disease, to include cancer, can stand up to the Word of God when applied with aggressive faith and precision. Take your healing. It belongs to you! Jesus has given me the assignment of getting faith in the body of Christ for healing. Jesus said to me "if people will believe what you teach them and do it aggressively healing will come to them." Wrong Believing One of the greatest hindrances to receiving from God is wrong believing. Believing contrary to what the Scriptures says is a sure way of not receiving your healing. We have heard so much information that is not in agreement with the Scriptures. For example, if you believe that it's not God's will to heal everybody when the Bible clearly states "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth" (3 John 2, KJV), then Satan can talk you out of your healing. He can convince you that God won't heal you because of something you did or didn't do. This is why reading and studying the Word of God for yourself on a daily basis is so important. You must believe God wants you well and God by his grace has made healing available. Sinner's Prayer Say this prayer aloud with all your heart and Jesus will come to live on the inside of you. Father, Your word says according to Roman 10:9 if I confess with my mouth the Lord Jesus Christ and believe in my heart that God has raised him from the dead I will be saved. I renounce sin and ask Jesus to come into my heart now and be my Lord and Savior. I believe God raised him from the dead. I ask Jesus to fill me with the Holy Spirit. I declare that I am now born again. Thank you Jesus for saving me. Congratulations! You are now a born-again believer.

Book Kingdom Calling

Book excerpt: Christianity Today Book Award winner Imagine the scenarios: a CEO successfully negotiates a corporate merger, avoiding hundreds of layoffs in the process an artist completes a mosaic for public display at a bank, showcasing neighborhood heroes a contractor creates a work-release program in cooperation with a local prison, growing the business and seeing countless former inmates turn their lives around a high-school principal graduates 20 percent more students than the previous year, and the school's average scores go up by a similar percentage Now imagine a parade in the streets for each event. That's the vision of Proverbs 11:10, in which the tsaddiqim—the people who see everything they have as gifts from God to be stewarded for his purposes—pursue their vocation with an eye to the greater good. Amy Sherman, director of the Center on Faith in Communities and scholar of vocational stewardship, uses the tsaddiqim as a springboard to explore how, through our faith-formed calling, we announce the kingdom of God to our everyday world. But cultural trends toward privatism and materialism threaten to dis-integrate our faith and our work. And the church, in ways large and small, has itself capitulated to those trends, while simultaneously elevating the "special calling" of professional ministry and neglecting the vocational formation of laypeople. In the process, we have, in ways large and small, subverted our kingdom mandate. God is on the move, and he calls each of us, from our various halls of power and privilege, to follow him. Here is your chance, keeping this kingdom calling in view, to steward your faith and work toward righteousness. In so doing, you will bless the world, and as you flourish, the world will celebrate.

Book excerpt: The fourteen sermons contained in Saved By Grace Alone were preached in Westminster Chapel, London, on Sunday evenings between 15 April and 15 July 1956. They are a fine example of preaching evangelistically from a consecutive passage of the Old Testament. While they are firmly based on the meaning of the Scripture text in its original setting, they are not overloaded with historical or exegetical detail. The larger themes of Ezekiel's message to the people of his own day are kept prominently in view.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When Serena Dyksen heard the news that over 2,200 babies remains were found on the property of abortion doctor Ulrich George Klopfer, her whole body went numb from shock. She began to sob tears of grief. Is my baby one of those remains? she questioned. Dr. Klopfer performed her abortion when she was just thirteen years old. Just months before, Serena had decided to share her abortion story. After watching one of the last scenes in the pro-life movie Unplanned, she felt it was time to share the hope and healing God had done in her life. Serenas story reads like a traumatic tale: a childhood of dysfunction, rape, abortion at thirteen years old, a pregnant teenager at the age of sixteen, health issues, and a devastating event that led her to alcohol and drug abuse. But in her book, She Found His Grace: A True Story of Hope, Love and Forgiveness After Abortion, Serena reveals the transforming power of Gods healing in her life that set her completely free. She now finds comfort from Genesis 50:20 (ESV): As for me, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today. Serena wants everyone who reads her book to know that she walks in freedom because of the transforming power of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Everyone needs to walk through the healing process of their past abortion, no matter what the circumstances, she testifies. If you dont, you will be walking through deception, pain, and all the bondage that goes with that. But the same God who sent people to show His love for me is the same God who will redeem your life too! Headlines of Dr. Ulrich Klopfers evil highlights the horrors of the abortion industry, but Serenas testimony overshadows that darkness with the truth of God's word. There is forgiveness, hope, and healing for your past abortion. God shines through my life; he can shine through yours too!
