Book Healing Hurt Hearts Trauma Journal

Download or read book Healing Hurt Hearts Trauma Journal written by Latrice Scott MA LMHC and published by Balboa Press. This book was released on 2022-08-09 with total page 297 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This journal is called "Healing Hurt Hearts” because it’s important to acknowledge and own your personal trauma(s) in order to effectively address and heal from them. Trauma is the experience of severe psychological distress following disturbing or life-threatening events. The long-term effects of traumatic experiences can make it difficult for you to move forward in life. However, with any journey, you must first start. The work that you will be doing will center around your trauma narrative. A trauma narrative is a psychological technique used to help survivors of trauma make sense of their experiences, while also acting as a form of exposure to painful memories. When completing a trauma narrative, the story of a traumatic experience will be told repeatedly through verbal, written, or artistic means. This journal will help you process your thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors regarding your trauma(s). Through various therapeutic exercises, inspirational quotes/statements, daily activities, and introspective journal prompts, you will be guided along your healing journey. As an added bonus, personal stories from trauma survivors (like you) are included along with resources to seek further assistance, if needed. It is recommended that this trauma journal is completed with a professional counselor. However, this is a self-help journal that can be completed independently in 6 months, one year or more. If at any time you feel the need to take a break from this journal, that is okay. There is no time limit on unpacking your trauma. It’s all up to you! Your healing is a page away!

When a relationship ends, the anguish and disappointment can be devastating. A broken heart is genuinely traumatic. Typical recommendations to keep busy, move on, repair your hidden flaws, and then forget about it may not be helpful. In these pages, Susan Piver reveals that heartbreak actually creates an opportunity for genuine emotional and spiritual transformation, enabling you to emerge on the other side stronger, softer, and capable of loving with renewed confidence. In the years following her own experience, Piver searched the world’s wisdom traditions and discovered that heartbreak can be an uncompromising teacher of authenticity, power, and even joy. She shares that wisdom here, with instantaneously recognizable anecdotes, insights, on-the-spot practices, exercises, meditations, and down-to-earth advice that make The Wisdom of a Broken Heart a steadying prescription of solace and encouragement, wisdom and humor, during the hardest time of your life. Like an infinitely patient, trusted friend, Piver tells you in a thousand different ways the most important thing to remember and the easiest to forget: You’re going to be okay. “A care package . . . that can help the broken-hearted heal.” —Spirituality & Practice

It governs the patterns of our sleep and respiration and is profoundly tied to our relationships with friends and family. But what happens when these rhythms are disrupted by traumatic events? Can balance be restored, and if so, how? What insights do eastern, natural, and modern western healing traditions have to offer, and how can practitioners put these lessons to use? Is it possible to do this in a way that’s culturally sensitive, multidisciplinary, and grounded in research? Rhythms of Recovery examines and answers these questions and provides clinicians with effective, time-tested tools for alleviating the destabilizing effects of traumatic events. It also explores integrative medicine, East/West medicine, herbal medicine, psychedelic medicine, complex trauma, yoga, and somatic and feminist therapies. For practitioners and students interested in integrating the insights of complementary/alternative medicine and 21st-century science, this deeply appealing book is an ideal guide.

Book Bereavement Companion Journal for The Day My Heart Turned Blue

Noland’s book, The Day My Heart Turned Blue: Healing After the Loss of My Mother. However, it can also be used on its own to guide you on your bereavement journey. The purpose of the companion journal is to guide the bereaved through the process of healing, reflecting, and honoring their parent so they can move forward. The journal is composed of three parts: Part 1: Embracing Your Emotions. This section will walk you through a cathartic experience of identifying and releasing the range of powerful emotions triggered by the loss of a parent. Grief cannot be stifled or rushed. You need to allow yourself to experience all of the emotions in order to get to the other side. And you get to decide what the other side of grief looks like for you. Part 2: Self-Care for a Grieving Heart. This section outlines the four steps of bereavement self-care that can help you heal from a wounded heart. Grief can have an unshakeable hold on your heart when you lose a loved one. Mourning ensues because your heart is devastated, and you realize that what was no longer is. Fortunately, with proper care, a wounded heart can heal. Part 3: Honoring your Loved One. This section will coach you through the process of moving forward by celebrating your loved one’s heavenly birthday, getting through the holiday season, and turning your pain into purpose. You can view life from a new perspective as you heal, one that is full of hope and inspiration. In between each chapter of the companion journal, you will find self-check-ins that prompt you to perform emotional checkups on yourself. The check-ins are designed to provide you with valuable personal insight into your current emotional state and allow you to reflect on the progress you’ve made. Remember that you are the author of your life. Your journal should be unapologetically raw and honest, no matter how difficult the pain is right now. When you pour your heart out on paper, you shine a light on the darkest emotions you may experience due to your grief. You might even consider turning this journal into a memoir documenting your healing journey after your parent’s death. Some days, it may feel like you’re climbing a relentless mountain with an enormous amount of weight on your back. Be encouraged. Your life may feel like a mess, but this so-called mess will give way to an inspirational message for you to share to encourage others. May the therapeutic power of journaling in The Day My Heart Turned Blue Bereavement Companion Journal allow you to reveal the areas in your life where you need to heal the most, so you can move from surviving grief to thriving in life.
