Book Have You Seen My Ummmm memory

Download or read book Have You Seen My Ummmm memory written by Miller Caldwell and published by . This book was released on 2008-10 with total page 120 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Everyone has had the frustrating experience of putting something down and then forgetting where. Outside influences like stress, hormone problems, or even the side-effects of medications can make people absent-minded and forgetful. But what if your memory is simply getting progressively worse? Are you frequently embarrassed at not being able to remember someone s name? Have you ever driven away from a gas station and genuinely forgotten to pay? Are these episodes of memory loss driving you to despair? If so, then this book by Miller Caldwell is not only going to amuse and entertain you, but also provide you with many serious tips and exercises that will help you train your brain all over again! Mr. Caldwell begins by explaining his own diagnosed condition, mild cognitive impairment (MCI), and the frustration he felt at having to retire early because of short-term memory loss. He explains in simple terms how the human brain processes our thoughts and then stores them in preparation for recall. He explains that, if an older person learns information in the right way, he or she is just as likely to remember information as effectively as someone decades younger. Each helpful tip and suggested exercise comes with an anecdote from the author s many varied and fascinating life experiences, including how he almost married the wrong woman! Presented in a delightful and straightforward format, this book will be an invaluable companion to those of us who are just a little bit forgetful, as well as people in the early stages of dementia. Oh, and just in case you forget, the charming cover illustration of an elephant with a knot in its trunk will remind you to pick up a copy of your own.

Book Dungeons Dragons Spelljammer Memory s Wake

Download or read book Dungeons Dragons Spelljammer Memory s Wake written by Django Wexler and published by Random House Worlds. This book was released on 2024-06-04 with total page 273 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Set sail for the stars in this official Dungeons & Dragons novel set in the worlds of Spelljammer: Adventures in Space! In the colossal void of Shatterspace, besieged by bloodthirsty marauders and brimming with monstrous aberrations, the only constant is power: The deft will escape the slow. The clever will outwit the naïve. The strong will take from the weak. Axia wishes she could be grateful to have spent her life—or what little she remembers of it—on an asteroid so far from anything of interest that even the greediest spacers see fit to pass it by. Her days may not be as exciting as the swashbuckling stories of her favorite books or as dramatic as the pasts she’s imagined for herself, but they’re as safe as Shatterspace can manage. So why does something inside her long for the stars every time she sees a spacefaring spelljammer vessel? When Axia survives a sudden assassination attempt, she is cornered by Kori and Nia, a pair of pirates who offer her two options: flee with them to Wildspace, where they can keep her hidden among their crew, or die. It’s an easy choice with death at her doorstep. But even in the vastness of the Astral Sea, Axia quickly realizes that her new friends haven’t been entirely honest about their motivations. It turns out, Axia is the spitting image of Blacktongue, the long-disappeared captain of one of the deadliest pirate crews in Shatterspace. And Kori and Nia have a plan to claim the mysterious treasure that the pirate queen vanished while pursuing. To survive, Axia will have to fill Blacktongue’s bloodstained boots and embark on a more perilous and thrilling adventure than any she’s dared to dream.
