While some settled in Pennsylvania, the family of interest settled in North Carolina. The earliest known progeniter of the Hargrett family was Johann Heinrich Hargett who settled in North Carolina in 1749. He was the father of at least ten children. Later generations took on the name of Hargrett and removed to Georgia. Descendants live in Georgia and other parts of the United States.
