Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A compassionate, shame-free guide for your darkest days “A one-of-a-kind book . . . to read for yourself or give to a struggling friend or loved one without the fear that depression and suicidal thoughts will be minimized, medicalized or over-spiritualized.”—Kay Warren, cofounder of Saddleback Church What happens when loving Jesus doesn’t cure you of depression, anxiety, or suicidal thoughts? You might be crushed by shame over your mental illness, only to be told by well-meaning Christians to “choose joy” and “pray more.” So you beg God to take away the pain, but nothing eases the ache inside. As darkness lingers and color drains from your world, you’re left wondering if God has abandoned you. You just want a way out. But there’s hope. In I Love Jesus, But I Want to Die, Sarah J. Robinson offers a healthy, practical, and shame-free guide for Christians struggling with mental illness. With unflinching honesty, Sarah shares her story of battling depression and fighting to stay alive despite toxic theology that made her afraid to seek help outside the church. Pairing her own story with scriptural insights, mental health research, and simple practices, Sarah helps you reconnect with the God who is present in our deepest anguish and discover that you are worth everything it takes to get better. Beautifully written and full of hard-won wisdom, I Love Jesus, But I Want to Die offers a path toward a rich, hope-filled life in Christ, even when healing doesn’t look like what you expect.

The times were very hard and Granddad had the additional heartache of losing his wife at the end of 1939. His firstborn son, my father, Jonathan was living in the USA. Jonathan had come over to the USA in 1930, and married Agnes Reinertsen in 1938. His second son Jocelyn served in the London Irish Rifles and was taken captive in Tunisia in January, 1943. He was held in Italy, Campo PG70, Monteurano, and then sent north to Stalag IVB in Germany. The Russian Army under General Koniev liberated the camp which was located on the Elbe River in April, 1945. This collection of letters tells the story of civilian life in England during the war years through the eyes of my Grandfather and ends with the return of my Uncle Jocelyn to England in 1945.

Book excerpt: Mitzi and Goldies reunion in San Francisco is filled with joy and sorrow. After an absence of 48 years time falls away as though they never parted. The dark cloud is an illness in his family. The daily e-mails continue, more meaningful than ever, as Mitzi comforts and consoles Goldie. Their bond deepens, enhanced by the physical intimacy they have shared. Goldie sends Mitzi two birthday gifts. Each element of the jewel is imbued with significance which he delineates, the circle of diamonds indicating they have come full circle, are joined together again. The second gift is a photo album Goldie made, recreating their history, with pictures of places in their home town. On the last photo, of his school locker, he writes This is where we met between classes for 90 seconds, because we couldnt bear to be apart. Mitzi breaks her foot. At home, in pain, she reflects on Goldies marital status and writes him an e-mail saying In my experience married men dont leave, they simply break your heart. Please dont break my heart. He takes offense that she would question his integrity and motivation and suggests they go on hiatus until he has progress to report. She is devastated, sends a flurry of e-mails, begs forgiveness. They continue stronger than before. A new trip is planned, this time to Washington, D.C. It turns out to be both heaven and hell. It is heaven because the relationship is so strong, so close. He opens his heart about how bad his marriage is and his plans to end it. It is hell because they are both unwell. He suggests a third trip, to Niagara Falls. She knows this is the trip that will make all the difference, will cement their God given union. Then the unthinkable happens.

Download or read book Bad Bitch Philosophy A Self Worth Guide written by Anushka Agrawal and published by Invincible Publishers. This book was released on 2022-03-28 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: About The Book Self-love is not as important as self-worth is. Sometimes self-love can look like an illusion under which we hide our insecurities about not feeling loved. However, self-worth is a reflection of how we look at ourselves in the mirror and is a precondition to self-love. Oftentimes, we lose a sense of trust in ourselves and also our direction in life and that’s exactly when we need to find ourselves. Bad B*tch Philosophy is an ironical title behind which lies hidden the treasure of a woman’s worth. It is an attempt to introduce the grey area of life where all the happiness and peace reside. This book has especially been written to create a sense of self-love and well-being in women and to help them discover the beauty within themselves. It addresses all the adversities that women are still a victim to and are made to tolerate overlooking the fact that they are unendurable. It portrays how we can together join hands and bring a revolutionary change in the way we look at ourselves as well as at other women. About The Author Anushka has been an avid writer ever since she found her voice and learned to express it regarding the atrocities inflicted on women. Penning down her sorrows and experiences was a mere hobby until she realised that it was all she ever wanted. She wanted to be heard and to be there for every person like her, to make them fall in love with the imperfections of their existence. She has been intrigued by the genres of romance and inspiration. Being fascinated by the human mind, she is currently pursuing psychology. Also, philosophy and art have always appealed to her. Identifying herself as a feminist in the recent years, stirred her to write about the incredible souls women are and to remind them to always embrace their real self and be aware of their worth.
