Book excerpt: What happens when you give up everything to pursue Christ? This is a fascinating true story of a Muslim woman who moved to the United States from Pakistan, lived in a Muslim community in California and then shocked everyone by thwarting the tradition of arranged marriage by marrying an American. She was disowned for that action, but then was reconciled with her family when she agreed to have a Muslim and a Christian wedding ceremony. After the events of 9/11, she decided to delve deeper into her faith by reading the Quran and praying to Allah. When she encountered the chapter on Jesus (Isa in the Surah Maryam), she couldn't figure out why this prophet was so different. She then prayed to God to give her the truth and show her the way. He pointed to One: Jesus Christ. This book addresses her journey and stresses the importance of sharing the Good News of Christ. Mona lived in the United States for 25 years without an authentic witness to the pure Gospel. She shares how the Hand of God reached out and closed the gap between the East and the West.

Download or read book The Islamic Jesus written by Mustafa Akyol and published by St. Martin's Press. This book was released on 2017-02-14 with total page 288 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “A welcome expansion of the fragile territory known as common ground.” —The New York Times When Reza Aslan’s bestseller Zealot came out in 2013, there was criticism that he hadn’t addressed his Muslim faith while writing the origin story of Christianity. In fact, Ross Douthat of The New York Times wrote that “if Aslan had actually written in defense of the Islamic view of Jesus, that would have been something provocative and new.” Mustafa Akyol’s The Islamic Jesus is that book. The Islamic Jesus reveals startling new truths about Islam in the context of the first Muslims and the early origins of Christianity. Muslims and the first Christians—the Jewish followers of Jesus—saw Jesus as not divine but rather as a prophet and human Messiah and that salvation comes from faith and good works, not merely as faith, as Christians would later emphasize. What Akyol seeks to reveal are how these core beliefs of Jewish Christianity, which got lost in history as a heresy, emerged in a new religion born in 7th Arabia: Islam. Akyol exposes this extraordinary historical connection between Judaism, Jewish Christianity and Islam—a major mystery unexplored by academia. From Jesus’ Jewish followers to the Nazarenes and Ebionites to the Qu’ran’s stories of Mary and Jesus, The Islamic Jesus will reveal links between religions that seem so contrary today. It will also call on Muslims to discover their own Jesus, at a time when they are troubled by their own Pharisees and Zealots.

Book I Don t Have Enough Faith to Be an Atheist

Download or read book I Don t Have Enough Faith to Be an Atheist written by Norman L. Geisler and published by Crossway. This book was released on 2021-05-17 with total page 417 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: To some, the concept of having faith in a higher power or a set of religious beliefs is nonsensical. Indeed, many view religion in general, and Christianity in particular, as unfounded and unreasonable. Norman Geisler and Frank Turek argue, however, that Christianity is not only more reasonable than all other belief systems, but is indeed more rational than unbelief itself. With conviction and clear thinking, Geisler and Turek guide readers through some of the traditional, tested arguments for the existence of a creator God. They move into an examination of the source of morality and the reliability of the New Testament accounts concerning Jesus. The final section of the book deals with a detailed investigation of the claims of Christ. This volume will be an interesting read for those skeptical about Christianity, as well as a helpful resource for Christians seeking to articulate a more sophisticated defense of their faith.

Book Revelation Rationality Knowledge Truth

Download or read book Revelation Rationality Knowledge Truth written by Hazrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad and published by Islam International Publications Ltd. This book was released on 1998-06-30 with total page 787 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Any divide between revelation and rationality, religion and logic has to be irrational. If religion and rationality cannot proceed hand in hand, there has to be something deeply wrong with either of the two. Does revelation play any vital role in human affairs? Is not rationality sufficient to guide man in all the problems which confront him? Numerous questions such as these are examined with minute attention. All major issues which intrigue the modern mind are attempted to be incorporated in this fascinatingly comprehensive statute. Whatever the intellectual or educational background of the reader, this book is bound to offer him something of his interest. It examines a very diverse and wide range of subjects including the concept of revelation in different religions, history of philosophy, cosmology, extraterrestrial life, the future of life on earth, natural selection and its role in evolution. It also elaborately discusses the advent of the Messiah, or other universal reformers, awaited by different religions. Likewise, many other topical issues which have been agitating the human mind since time immemorial are also incorporated. The main emphasis is on the ability of the Quran to correctly discuss all important events of the past, present and future from the beginning of the universe to its ultimate end. Aided by strong incontrovertible logic and scientific evidence, the Quran does not shy away from presenting itself to the merciless scrutiny of rationality. It will be hard to find a reader whose queries are not satisfactorily answered. We hope that most readers will testify that this will always stand out as a book among books – perhaps the greatest literary achievement of this century.

Download or read book Jesus Prophet of Islam written by Muhammad Ata ur-Rahim and published by Tahrike Tarsile Qur'an. This book was released on 2003-11-11 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: First published in 1977, Muhammad 'Ata ur-Rahim's classic text examines Jesus as a prophet teaching the Unity of God, and the historical collapse of Christianity as it abandoned his teaching. Now revised by coauthor Ahmad Thomson, the book sketches the dramatic picture of the original followers of Jesus who affirmed Unity, showing how Christianity became the fiction that replaced their truth. A wide-ranging study that covers the Gospel of Barnabas, the Gospel of Hermes, the shepherd, early and later Unitarian Christians, and Jesus in the gospels and in the Qur'an and hadith, Jesus: Prophet of Islam argues persuasively that the idea of Jesus as part of a trinity was a Greek pagan concept adopted by early Christian missionaries to gain converts among the Greeks, and did not become a widely accepted Christian doctrine until after the Council of Nicea in 325 A.D.

Download or read book The Curse of God written by Harris Sultan and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2018-12-12 with total page 255 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is a critical analysis of religion in general and Islam in particular. It covers some common misconceptions about Islam that both Muslims and non-Muslims have. The book starts with a little introduction of the author—how and why he became an ex-Muslim—and it is followed up with the importance of writing the book. The first chapter covers the importance of critical sense over common sense and how we should always invoke critical thinking when it comes to looking at the world around us. The book also covers some arguments for God and some counterarguments against God’s existence. It discusses the importance of God in keeping the morality of the society and the mental well-being of the human species. It also discusses the baggage that comes with religion, leaving our only lives here on planet earth devoid of pleasure and enjoyment. Moreover, it discusses the scientific flaws in the Quran and argues how it looks like a book written by a seventh century Arab warlord rather than the creator of the billions of galaxies. It discusses the critical and sensitive topic of the character of Allah (Muslim God) and Muhammad in light of the Quran, Hadith (collection of Muhammad’s quotes), and the biography of Muhammad. It gives a detailed account of Muhammad’s wives and violence in his life. In the last part of the book, the author discusses the rise of Islamism in the western world and its dangers. Finally, it educates its readers on how to debate with a religious apologist and some common arguments and techniques employed by them. It is a very interesting read into Islam from an ex-Muslim’s point of view and the best guide to learning Islam.

Piper offers a biblical defence of God's supremacy in all things, providing a sound theological foundation for missions. Book Tracing Jesus in the Bible and the Quran

Download or read book Tracing Jesus in the Bible and the Quran written by Fred Maina Macharia and published by GRIN Verlag. This book was released on 2004-03-12 with total page 81 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Doctoral Thesis / Dissertation from the year 2003 in the subject Theology - Comparative Religion Studies, grade: cum laude, Concordia University Montreal (Concordia Theologica Instiute; Neffs, Penns., USA), language: English, abstract: This paper sets out to examine the presence of Jesus Christ as presented in the Holy Quran. This is presented from the perspective of a twentieth century African Christian after an objective reading of the Holy Quran and some Hadith literature. Jesus comes through as a prophet and messenger of Allah, with whom Allah has established unique relationship and about whom the last word is not yet spoken. The Quran comes through as a great defender of what it reveals as the true nature and identity of Jesus, against different and conflicting misrepresentations of Jesus by rival Christian groups. The Quran presents a Jesus in whom Allah is greatly interested. Allah identifies and prepares Mary the mother of Jesus and entrusts her to the care of Zachariah. Allah gives a gift of a son to Zachariah in their old age; this son is John and called “Yahya” in the Quran. Allah then gives a Word from Himself to Mary. This word from Allah given to Mary becomes Jesus a son born of a virgin mother. Allah himself through the ministry of Angels and nature arranges for and takes care of Mary’s confinement and post-delivery care till Allah presents her back to her people with her infant son Jesus who as an infant miraculously spoke in defense of his mother. The Quran presents a Jesus who delivers a message to the children of Israel only. A Jesus who performs miracles and a Jesus who is rescued by Allah from the threat of being crucified by the Jews Allah takes Jesus unto Himself and before the day of judgement Jesus will come to do the will of Allah. After reading all the references of Jesus in the Quran, one develops an interest in this Prophet and Messenger of Allah and asks many questions about him. However, the Quran is silent. This silence of the Quran about so much historical information about Jesus becomes very loud and problematic. The quotations from the Holy Quran in this paper are from Ali, Abdullah Yusuf: The Holy Quran: Arabic Text, Translation and Commentary, University of New York Press, 1991. The purpose of this paper is:- 1. Trace Jesus in the Holy Quran 2. Compare and contrast the Jesus in the Quran and the Bible 3. Help Christian to understand Islam Religion and being able to answer the basic system of doctrine of a Muslim. 4. Have a picture of Jesus through the eyes of a Muslim and a Christian.
