Download or read book Contextual Theology for Latin America written by Sharon E. Heaney and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2008-07-01 with total page 331 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the context of Latin America, the theology of liberation is both dominant and world renowned. However, this context and the pursuit of theological relevance belong also to other voices. Orlando E. Costas, Samuel Escobar, J. Andrew Kirk, Emilio A. Nunez and C. Rene Padilla are thinkers who have sought to bring an evangelical understanding of liberation to the people of Latin America. Despite their influence on national and international theology and despite their transformative contribution to the praxis of churches ministering in contexts of poverty, their thought has not been systematized to dates. This work deals with this lacuna presenting the vitality of Latin American evangelical theology which seeks to be biblical, relevant and missiologically effective, thus offering a liberation which is holistic and grounded in the kingdom of God.
Download or read book Inculturation written by Diego Irarrazaval and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2008-02-01 with total page 147 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This compelling account of how Andean Christians have inculturated the Gospel and the challenges that confront them provides a real-world view of the urgent process of inculturation. In the context of pluri-cultural development of the church, this process is one that affirms that both culture and history are transformed by the Spirit of God. Inculturation surveys Andean culture and religious traditions, drawing from day-to-day experience in the transformation of education and social action, personal and communal life, spirituality, and the whole of Christian mission in today's world. It also discusses current evangelization trends worldwide, examining negative as well as positive examples of inculturation, and offers guidelines for future efforts.
Download or read book Introducci n a S ren Kierkegaard o la teolog a patas arriba AETH written by Association for Hispanic Theological Education and published by Abingdon Press. This book was released on 1990-08-01 with total page 211 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. In this book, the author presents a Kierkegaard that goes beyond what we read of him in many textbooks. Aside from a look at Kierkegaard the prophet, the denouncer of the social injustice and of the religious and ecclesiastical hypocrisy, Álvarez treats readers to a detailed examination of the times that formed Kierkegaard’s teachings and philosphies. Eliseo Perez-Alvarez studied theology and philosophy in Mexico City, Atlanta, Chicago and Copenhagen. He has been professor, pastor, editor and coordinator for Hispanic Ministries in Mexico, USA, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. He currently is an Associate Professor of Latino Theology and Mission at the Lutheran Seminary Program in the Southwest in Austin, Texas.

Download or read book Mision en el camino written by Charles E. Van Engen and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2019-02-28 with total page 381 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
