Book The Theory of Gymnastics

Download or read book The Theory of Gymnastics written by J. Lindhard and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2018-12-14 with total page 485 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: First published in 1939, this volume translated into English the Danish work ‘Den Specielle Gymnastrikteon’. Its author, Professor Lindhard, noted the still-young field of theoretical gymnastics in comparison to its physical counterpart, with the only prior major work being that of Ling from 1800. Lindhard developed upon that work to revolutionise the 1930s interpretation of Ling’s views. The author of several physiological books, Lindhard sought to explain how gymnastics was a means of developing both physical form and moral qualities. He emphasised the importance of guidance towards ethical and aesthetical gymnastics and explored the differences between men, women and children with regards to each form of exercise. This was achieved through the classification, description and contemplation of exercises such as corrective, balance and athletic exercises along with demonstrative illustrations.

Book Home power gymnastics

Download or read book Home power gymnastics written by Samuel Greenberg and published by Leonid Ostrovsky. This book was released on 2024-08-15 with total page 126 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How to train muscles using your body weight This book describes exercises in power gymnastics, which use the weight of your body to train the core muscles of the human body without using dumbbells, simulators and other projectiles. Exercises with your own body weight allow you to achieve a high degree of muscular tension, comparable to the effects of strength training equipment. In addition, gymnastics without shells has a positive effect on the joints and the spine, removing the axial pressure on the intervertebral discs of the latter. But the main advantage of this gymnastics is its simplicity and accessibility. What is inside the book? You will find a detailed description and magnificent illustrations of more than 50 sports exercises for all major muscles and muscle groups of your body, including isometric exercises to increase the strength and endurance of the muscles of your body. You can create an individual set of exercises: for example, to strengthen the muscles of the arms and shoulder girdle; for the development of flexibility and endurance; for the prevention of osteochondritis and the like. But whatever tasks you set for yourself, “simple gymnastics” will help you look more attractive, feel healthy and fit. How does this book differ from other similar ones? The book gives reasonable advice on the scientifically proven most effective methods of increasing the intensity of training, which include tips on rest and recovery, nutrition and natural stimulants, regimen and self-control. Training based on the exercises and techniques described in this book ensures you quick results with minimal effort. Most of the exercises can be easily practiced at work, at home, on vacation and do not require a visit to the fitness center. Exercise sets can be divided into sessions for busy people and applied at any time during the day. Target audience For people of any age, gender and level of training who want to develop strength, flexibility, make the figure beautiful and maintain all body systems at a sufficiently high functional level.
