Book Assessing Cleanliness of Hydraulic Fluid Power Components and Systems

Download or read book Assessing Cleanliness of Hydraulic Fluid Power Components and Systems written by CTTC C1, Hydraulic Systems and published by . This book was released on 1986 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: To describe laboratory methods for determining and reporting the contaminant level of the wetted portion of hydraulic fluid power components, parts, subsystems and systems, and of fill fluids. For each type of item it provides a method of obtaining the liquid sample and the contamination level thereof. It also includes procedures for establishing a sampling plan and guidelines for establishing levels of acceptance, but does not set those levels. To provide a basis for measuring and reporting cleanliness levels so that built-in contamination and premature failures of hydraulic systems can minimized.

Book Principles of Hydraulic Systems Design Second Edition

Download or read book Principles of Hydraulic Systems Design Second Edition written by Peter Chapple and published by Momentum Press. This book was released on 2014-12-31 with total page 292 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Fluid power systems are manufactured by many organizations for a very wide range of applications, embodying different arrangements of components to fulfill a given task. Hydraulic components are manufactured to provide the control functions required for the operation of a wide range of systems and applications. This second edition is structured to give an understanding of: • Basic types of components, their operational principles and the estimation of their performance in a variety of applications. • A resume of the flow processes that occur in hydraulic components. • A review of the modeling process for the efficiency of pumps and motors. This new edition also includes a complete analysis for estimating the mechanical loss in a typical hydraulic motor; how circuits can be arranged using available components to provide a range of functional system outputs, including the analysis and design of closed loop control systems and some applications; a description of the use of international standards in the design and management of hydraulic systems; and extensive analysis of hydraulic circuits for different types of hydrostatic power transmission systems and their application.

Book Fluid Contamination Control

Book Requirements for an Effective Program in Fluid Contamination Control

Download or read book Requirements for an Effective Program in Fluid Contamination Control written by E. C. Fitch and published by . This book was released on 1971 with total page 11 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Contamination control in a hydraulic system means that the filtration equipment of a system has established a fluid contamination level which is within the contaminant tolerance specifications of the hydraulic components. Such a control condition is not beyond the realm of practicality and must be achieved if hydraulic systems are to function in an optimal manner. Sufficient technology has been developed to permit the specification of the requirements for achieving, maintaining, and appraising contamination control conditions.

Book Hydraulic Fluid Power Valves Method for Assessing the Lock Sensitivity to Contaminants

Download or read book Hydraulic Fluid Power Valves Method for Assessing the Lock Sensitivity to Contaminants written by Ship Fluid Systems Committee and published by . This book was released on 1999 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This SAE Recommended Practice defines a procedure, which will aid in assessing the contaminant sensitivity of hydraulic valves. The approach taken defines a test procedure with flexibility for testing valves in a wide range of contamination levels. The user of this procedure must establish the contamination levels for testing. Three levels are suggested which should cover the range for most valve applications. This procedure does not establish the contaminant sensitivity requirements for any valve. The user of this procedure needs to be aware of the system contamination level that the valve will operate in and select test contamination levels significantly higher than the operating level to assess the suitability of the valve. The test procedure permits a valve to be tested without disassembly and therefore permits protection of proprietary design information. This procedure assesses the contamination sensitivity of valves by contaminant lock. The procedure indicates the sensitivity of valves by contaminant lock due to various sizes of contaminants. The test is designed to assess the contaminant sensitivity of valves in tests of relatively short duration. See Appendix A for guidance as to how the tests and their results may be used. The tests are purposely designed to be severe in order to be applicable to a wide range of contaminated environments. The use of valves in many applications and for various purposes results in differing levels of acceptable performance. That is, the same valve may be unacceptable - in relation to operation in a contaminated environment - in one application and be acceptable in another. The user must make that decision based on a review of the expected level of the specific application and the test results obtained. NOTE - See 7.2 if document is to be contractually invoked.
