Book Guidebook for Preparing Airport Emissions Inventories for State Implementation Plans

Download or read book Guidebook for Preparing Airport Emissions Inventories for State Implementation Plans written by and published by Transportation Research Board. This book was released on 2013 with total page 69 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "TRB's Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP) Report 84: Guidebook for Preparing Airport Emissions Inventories for State Implementation Plans is designed to assist in the preparation of airport emissions inventory component of a State Implementation Plan. The Guidebook offers a basic, intermediate, and advanced approach for preparation of an airport emissions inventory. Each approach is progressively more complex, requiring increasingly detailed input data that generates greater airport specificity and accuracy. The choice of a particular approach is up to the user as a function of the level of response appropriate to a specific airport, the demands of the facility and the surrounding community, and data availability. A CD-ROM, which is included with the print version of the report, contains an Airport Emissions Estimator Tool that applies to the basic approach. In addition, the CD-ROM includes the appendixes that accompany ACRP Report 84 as well as other project-specific material."--Publisher's description.

Book Appendices to ACRP Report 11

Download or read book Appendices to ACRP Report 11 written by and published by . This book was released on 2008 with total page 87 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: These appendices provide background information on inventory protocols and calculation methods. The intention is to support the Guidebook by providing further details and explanations for the specific procedures and recommendations specified by the Guidebook. As such, the appendices should be seen as a companion to the Guidebook that the inventory developer can use to better understand the inventory development process. The appendices were separated from the Guidebook to allow the Guidebook to be a streamlined and focused document. Although the Guidebook may provide some background information, its purpose is mainly to provide instructions on how to develop an inventory rather than explaining all of the reasoning behind each method. As users gain experience from the two documents and become adept at developing airport GHG inventories, they should be able to refer to just the Guidebook for their needs.

Book Guidance for Quantifying the Contribution of Airport Emissions to Local Air Quality

Download or read book Guidance for Quantifying the Contribution of Airport Emissions to Local Air Quality written by Brian Y. Kim and published by Transportation Research Board. This book was released on 2012 with total page 78 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report is a guide for airport operators on effective procedures for using air quality models in combination with on-site measurement equipment to prepare a comprehensive assessment of air pollutant concentrations in the vicinity of airports. It is designed to help practitioners generate information desired by local communities as they seek to develop more detailed local air quality assessments as well as respond to regulatory needs, including those of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). The guide provides in-depth information on the capabilities and limitations of modeling and measurement tools, adding to an increasing knowledge base concerning preparation of air quality assessments near airports. Starting with the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) regulatory EDMS/AEDT, it describes how best to use available models, in combination with potential on-site monitoring programs, to conduct air quality assessments. Detailed information on the monitoring campaigns and modeling assessments is included in a set of appendices that accompany the guide. The appendices (available in CRP-CD-115) describe the models tested and the various equipment used to collect data, the rationale behind the selection of Washington Dulles International Airport as a case study application, and the components and steps involved in the measurement campaigns, and include an assessment of the various model outputs--

Download or read book EDMS Microcomputer Pollution Model for Civilian Airports and Air Forces Bases User s Guide Supplement A written by and published by . This book was released on 1993 with total page 32 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This supplement announces the incorporation of the latest aircraft emission database (EPA, 1992) and the latest motor vehicle database (Mobile 5a) into the Emissions and Dispersion Modeling System (EDMS). (The Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990 requires that the latest emission information be used to establish the Conformity of an airport improvement project with the State Implementation Plan.) This supplement also documents the following model enhancements: (1) an expansion of the emissions inventory portion of the model to accommodate ground support equipment and airport spray painting facilities; (2) the condensation of the emissions report into a one page printout; (3) the summarizing of calculated concentrations into hourly average time periods associated with each pollutant; (4) the access of the dispersion output file (disperse.out) directly from the menu; (5) the addition of a gridding algorithm designed to permit the entry of up to 200 receptors into the model; (6) the expansion of the example problem procedure to accommodate gridding.
