Download or read book Handbook on American Mining Law Classic Reprint written by George P. Costigan and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2017-12-02 with total page 816 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Handbook on American Mining Law The title American Mining Law has been chosen because of its simplicity and because the law chiefly dealt with, while it affects only a comparatively small part of the United States and its possessions, is so national in its character as deservedly to be spoken of by all writers on the subject as American Mining Law. In the notes the cases which for one reason or another are sug gested as best for students to consult are printed in large type. As is true of other Hornbooks, an exhaustive citation of cases has not been attempted, but the endeavor has been to give a comprehensive, well proportioned, and up-to-date treatment of the subject. Book International Mining Law Classic Reprint

Download or read book International Mining Law Classic Reprint written by Theo F. Van Wagenen and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2017-09-17 with total page 356 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from International Mining Law Practically all the raw material in this volume was collected primarily for the purpose of enabling the author to form an intelligent Opinion as to whether the American Federal Mining Law was in need of revision, and if so, in what respects. To accomplish this two kinds Of information on the subject appeared to be necessary. First, a knowledge Of the mining laws of other countries, for the purpose of being able to compare them with our own and to note the points of difference; and second, the statistics Of production in the principal metal-mining regions of the world, so as to be in a position to judge of the comparative worth Of each law by the results Obtained under it. As the investigation advanced it was found desirable as well as interest ing to take note of the salient features of the history Of the industry in each principal field. This naturally led to an inquiry into ancient and repealed mining legislation and customs, the better to understand those now in'force; which, in its turn, Called for a study of the beginnings, rise and growth of the occupation Of mining. And now, in putting together the results Obtained, the steps taken are naturally reversed in the act of publication. It is hoped that the arrangement adopted will prove a suitable one from the point Of View of the reader. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Book Mining Law for the Prospector Miner and Engineer Classic Reprint

Download or read book Mining Law for the Prospector Miner and Engineer Classic Reprint written by H. W. Macfarren and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2017-10-11 with total page 358 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Mining Law for the Prospector, Miner, and Engineer In adding another work on mining law to those already before the public, it is necessary to give a reason. The' present standard works on the subject are the production of mining attorneys, and while the value of their works is unquestioned, they are, perforce, more valuable and suitable for practising attorneys and in connection with mining l'itigations than for miners and as a guide in the field. This work has been prepared for the miner by a miner - using the word miner as a generic term to include all who may be interested in the subject of mineral rights and titles in contradistinction to mining attorneys though it is believed that the work will not be without elementary interest and value to the law profession. The purpose in view is to give a simple and easily grasped, though comprehensive idea of the mining law, showing its fabric and structure, that the reader and student may obtain the basic principles and facts upon which to take up either the more advanced study of mining law or use it intelligently and satisfactorily as a prospector, surveyor, claim owner, or property manager. It represents the experience and observation of the writer in the mining profession and as a mineral examiner of the Field Service of the General Land Office, in which capacity he has been in daily contact, in both office and field, with miners, mineral claimants, and the subject of mining rights and titles. Book Mining Law of the British Empire Classic Reprint

Download or read book Mining Law of the British Empire Classic Reprint written by Charles J. Alford and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2018-02-13 with total page 328 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Mining Law of the British Empire After reviewing the general principles of mining law and the widely divergent systems On which they are based, I propose to quote and discuss the various codes in practice in each Of the principal mining countries of the British Empire, in as much detail as space and the information at my disposal will permit. The intricate and detailed provisions made in the legislation of some Of the British self-governing colonies for the regulation of alluvial gold-mining, I shall but lightly touch upon, as of no great interest to European readers; whilst as much attention as possible will be given to the legislation bearing upon mining leases and properties of such importance as those in which mining joint-stock companies are more generally interested. Criticisms and complaints, some just and some unjust, Of the various mining laws are rife on every hand in all countries throughout the world, and will remain so until human nature has effected a radical change in itself until all classes Of the com munity - those who labour with their hands, those who labour with their brains, and also those who invest the necessary money capital in mining enterprise - can combine in understanding that each one section Of this working community is as necessary as the other to the mutual well-being and general good: until that day dawns, the stupid antagonism of labour to capital, and the resulting arrogance of capital towards labour, will continue to clog the wheels Of progress. Book A Treatise on the Law of Mines and Minerals Classic Reprint

Download or read book A Treatise on the Law of Mines and Minerals Classic Reprint written by William Bainbridge and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2017-11-16 with total page 1138 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from A Treatise on the Law of Mines and Minerals Since the publication, in the year 1867, of the Third Edition of the Author's Treatise, mining industry has, upon the whole, and notwithstanding occasional variations, enormously increased e and the law, also, of mines and minerals, from having been more frequently before the Courts and from other causes, has received a corresponding development. The principles of that law are now more definitely settled, and its details are much more accurately ascertained or ascertainable, than they or either of them were at the time the Author wrote. In the present or Fourth Edition, the Editor has endeavoured, while founding upon the old edition, to express these more definite principles, and to arrange these more accurately ascertainable details of mining law in a form at once convenient and logical, embodying them in the Author's Treatise in their appropriate places, and generally carrying forward that Treatise to the stage at which mining law has now arrived. For the better attainment of the objects above ex pressed, the Editor, although averse to taking liberties with either the method or the matter of his Author, has found himself compelled to take, and has also taken in fact, very considerable liberties with both. He has greatly altered the method; and he has greatly altered the matter also. Firstly, as regards alterations of method, - the Editor has made the following alterations, viz. Book Mining Mineral and Geological Law Classic Reprint

Download or read book Mining Mineral and Geological Law Classic Reprint written by Charles Harmonas Shamel and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2017-10-26 with total page 660 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Mining, Mineral and Geological Law Although necessarily less elaborate in treatment than the two-volume treatises on mining law already mentioned, I venture to hope that the present work may be of some assistance to the members of the legal profession over and above so much of the above mentioned features as may be used by them. It is the only treatise written from the double standpoint of science and law. Barringer and Adams's book, now out of print, contains a chapter or two on geology, but this is very elementary and does not treat ore deposits, the part of the science of most interest to the mining lawyer. The scientific and legal portions were evidently each written by one of the joint authors, and neither has any perceptible influence on the other. Snyder states in his preface that as originally prepared his work contained a geological preface, but this was not published.
