Tous les services offerts aux malades sont gratuits, même si l'on sait que les objectifs poursuivis ne peuvent être atteints qu'avec la collaboration des gouvernements, des institutions, des bénévoles et de tous ceux qui ont à cœur la dignité du mourant. En octobre 1999, le ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux du Québec a désigné la Maison Michel-Sarrazin Centre de soins palliatifs à vocation suprarégionale.
