En la segunda parte se exponen los aspectos preventivos desde las ópticas del ámbito de la salud, por un lado, y del ámbito educativo, por otro. La parte tercera se ocupa de la evaluación neuropediátrica y sensomotriz y presenta las pruebas generales de evaluación del desarrollo infantil, ambiental y familiar. Los capítulos que componen la parte cuarta se centran en varias patologías típicas, ocupándose de su etiología, las características evolutivas específicas y la intervención más adecuada en cada caso. Finalmente, la última parte aborda la intervención familiar, especialmente en familias con niños con trastornos del desarrollo.
