Se propone que el análisis de las interacciones entre las coberturas vegetales y la dinámica hidrológica (ecohidrología o hidrología forestal) a nivel de cuenca hidrográfica se puede realizar mediante el análisis conjunto de los aspectos morfométricos y el patrón de paisaje. Todo el marco conceptual, teórico y metodológico propuesto se operativiza mediante un ejemplo en la cuenca del río Cubillos, que hace parte de la cuenca alta del río Bogotá, localizada en el departamento de Cundinamarca, Colombia.
