Book Ground Water in Hard Rocks

Download or read book Ground Water in Hard Rocks written by Ingemar Larsson and published by . This book was released on 1984 with total page 232 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Current manuals and technical books on ground water hydrology contain relatively little specific information on ground water in hard rocks areas, that is mainly igneous and metamorphic rocks of the Precambrian shield areas. This work is intented to fill this gap and to inform of the possibilities of finding and developing water resources in hard rocks areas

Book GIS and Geostatistical Techniques for Groundwater Science

Download or read book GIS and Geostatistical Techniques for Groundwater Science written by Senapathi Venkatramanan and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2019-05-28 with total page 392 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: GIS and Geostatistical Techniques for Groundwater Science provides a detailed synthesis of the application of GIS and geostatistics in groundwater studies. As the book illustrates, GIS can be a powerful tool for developing solutions for water resource problems, assessing water quality, and managing water resources. Beginning with an introduction to the history of GIS and geostatistical techniques in groundwater studies, the book then describes various spatial techniques, including case studies for various applications, from quality assessment, to resource management. This book assembles the most up-to-date techniques in GIS and geostatistics as they relate to groundwater, one of our most important natural resources. - Provides details on the application of GIS and statistics in groundwater studies - Includes practical coverage of the use of spatial analysis techniques in groundwater science - Bridges the gap between geostatistics and GIS as it relates to groundwater science and management - Offers worldwide case studies to illustrate various techniques and applications in addressing groundwater issues

Book Principles of Applied Geophysics

Download or read book Principles of Applied Geophysics written by D. S. Parasnis and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 285 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The welcome accorded to the first two editions of this book has been most encouraging. The object of the third edition continues to be to give a brief but "fairly comprehensive survey of the methods of applied geophysics including some of the modern interpretation techniques. The general approach and plan of the previous editions are preserved, but in bringing the book up to date some changes have been made to which I would like to draw the reader's special attention. SI units are strictly adhered to except in six illustrative figures reproduced from older literature and left intact to save some extensive redraughting. Following the recommendation of the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics, the magnetic field measured in geophysical work is labelled here as flux density (tesla). Consequently, the symbols H, Z and T commonly used in geomagnetic work should stand for flux density. In the Max wellian theory of electromagnetism the symbol H stands, by convention, for a magnetizing force (A m -1) and a discerning reader will at once sense a source of confusion. This source of confusion is avoided in the present edition by B , B and B instead of H, Z and T. The employing the symbols b z t latter ~et is employed for the corresponding magnetizing forces of the earth's field. I hope this notation will gain general acceptance because it so easily dispenses with an ambiguity that otherwise tends to lead to unnecessary confusion of units and dimensions in geomagnetism.

Download or read book Hydrogeology written by eric Gilli and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2012-09-14 with total page 394 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hydrogeology, the science of groundwater, requires a multidisciplinary approach involving many other sciences: surface hydrology, climatology, geology, geography, physics, chemistry, biology, and more. This book takes a broad view, considers water as a single entity, and presents many examples illustrating the variety of existing hydrogeo

Book Electromagnetic Soundings

    Book Details:
  • Author : Alexander A. Kaufman
  • Publisher : Elsevier Science & Technology
  • Release : 2001
  • ISBN :
  • Pages : 560 pages

Download or read book Electromagnetic Soundings written by Alexander A. Kaufman and published by Elsevier Science & Technology. This book was released on 2001 with total page 560 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Providing the latest developments in the application of electromagnetic methods, this title is a revised edition of the book "Frequency and Transient Soundings" by A.A. Kaufman and G.V. Keller published in 1983.In this volume the physical principles, theory and interpretation of electromagnetic soundings and profiling are developed and explained. The authors systematically derive the relationships between components of electromagnetic fields measured, transmitter-receiver separations and frequency spectrum on the one hand, and parameters of geoelectric sections on the other hand.In addition you will find case histories illustrating the applications of modern instruments for electromagnetic soundings and profiling in agricultural and geotechnical engineering, environmental site assessments and ground water investigations.
