It consists of three sections. The first contains a series of sequences which tell a particular story, each sequence being introduced by a brief account of the context; the majority of the sequences are from prose authors. There are also a few individual passages. The second section consists of harder pieces, both prose and verse, some of which are arranged in sequenses, but a greater proportion of which are isolated pieces intended for use as unseens. The final section is an Appendix, which is intended as a convenient source of Greek practice passages. He was active in implementing U.S. policy, negotiating with the Bolshevik authorities, and supervising American intelligence operations that gathered information about conditions throughout Russia, especially monitoring anti-Bolshevik elements and areas of German influence. Departing Moscow in late 1918 via Petrograd, he was assigned to the port of Archangel, then occupied by Allied and American forces, and left Russia in June 1919. "
