Book The Unwanted Baby the Sequel

Download or read book The Unwanted Baby the Sequel written by Lone Wolf and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2018-08-16 with total page 326 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This story begins at the eighth week of a young mothers pregnancy. The small life inside the young mother from the time of conception is unwanted and unloved. However, the baby arrives safely into the world. Being unwanted and unloved, another miracle would come; the babys parental grandparents accepts the baby as their own and raised this life in a godly home. As the child grows into its adolescent years, the story takes a turn into an adventurous twist, keeping you on the edge of your seat. The Unwanted Baby the Sequel: A Father with Custody A young alcoholic father is abandoned by the mother, leaving him with four small children to raise. It would seem as if she vanished from earth. It would be fourteen years before she would make an attempt to reconnect with her children. The five of us would be rejected and turned out to the cold winter streets by our own family, leaving the five of us homeless, cold, and hungry. Threats to our lives by neighbors caused us to live in constant fear for our lives. The continued craving for the alcohol of the father would cause lack of food as the father sold food stamps in exchange for alcohol. Things escalate until the state removes the children permanently from the father. Years passed and the baby of the family unexpectedly dies at the age of thirty-two years. After thirty-eight years abusing alcohol, the father has an out-of-body experience that takes his spirit to the depth of hell to have a firsthand look of what this place of eternal damnation will be like. My prayers to the single parent are that there is hope and help. My help came from coming to believe in a higher power, and that higher power for me was Jesus Christ.

Book Of Bears and Ballots

Download or read book Of Bears and Ballots written by Heather Lende and published by Algonquin Books. This book was released on 2021-05-25 with total page 305 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “This book will inspire people to work with and for their neighbors in all kinds of ways!” —Bill McKibben, author of Falter Heather Lende was one of the thousands of women inspired to take an active role in politics during the past few years. Though her entire campaign for assembly member in Haines, Alaska, cost less than $1,000, she won! And tiny, breathtakingly beautiful Haines isn’t the sleepy town it appears to be. Yes, the assembly must stop bears from rifling through garbage on Main Street, but there is also a bitter debate about the fishing boat harbor and a vicious recall campaign that targets three assembly members, including Lende. In Of Bears and Ballots we witness the nitty-gritty of passing legislation, the lofty ideals of our republic, and the way our national politics play out in one small town. With her entertaining cast of offbeat but relatable characters, the writer whom the Los Angeles Times calls “part Annie Dillard, part Anne Lamott” brings us an inspirational tale about what living in a community really means, and what we owe one another.

Book Three Many Cooks

Download or read book Three Many Cooks written by Pam Anderson and published by Ballantine Books. This book was released on 2015-04-14 with total page 277 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When the women behind the popular blog Three Many Cooks gather in the busiest room in the house, there are never too many cooks in the kitchen. Now acclaimed cookbook author Pam Anderson and her daughters, Maggy Keet and Sharon Damelio, blend compelling reflections and well-loved recipes into one funny, candid, and irresistible book. Together, Pam, Maggy, and Sharon reveal the challenging give-and-take between mothers and daughters, the passionate belief that food nourishes both body and soul, and the simple wonder that arises from good meals shared. Pam chronicles her epicurean journey, beginning at the apron hems of her grandmother and mother, and recounts how a cultural exchange to Provence led to twenty-five years of food and friendship. Firstborn Maggy rebelled against the family’s culinary ways but eventually found her inner chef as a newlywed faced with the terrifying reality of cooking dinner every night. Younger daughter Sharon fell in love with food by helping her mother work, lending her searing opinions and elbow grease to the grueling process of testing recipes for Pam’s bestselling cookbooks. Three Many Cooks ladles out the highs and lows, the kitchen disasters and culinary triumphs, the bitter fights and lasting love. Of course, these stories would not be complete without a selection of treasured recipes that nurtured relationships, ended feuds, and expanded repertoires, recipes that evoke forgiveness, memory, passion, and perseverance: Pumpkin-Walnut Scones, baked by dueling sisters; Grilled Lemon Chicken, made legendary by Pam’s father at every backyard cookout; Chicken Vindaloo that Maggy whipped up in a boat galley in the Caribbean; Carrot Cake obsessively perfected by Sharon for the wedding of friends; and many more. Sometimes irreverent, often moving, always honest, this collection illustrates three women’s individual and shared search for a faith that confirms what they know to be true: The divine is often found hovering not over an altar but around the stove and kitchen table. So hop on a bar stool at the kitchen island and join them to commiserate, laugh, and, of course, eat! Praise for Three Many Cooks “This beautiful book is a stirring, candid, powerful celebration of mothers, daughters, and sisters, and of family, food, and faith. The stories are relatable and real, and are woven perfectly with the time-tested, mouthwatering recipes. I loved every page, every word, and am adding this to the very small pile of books in my life that I know I’ll pick up and read again and again.”—Ree Drummond, New York Times bestselling author of The Pioneer Woman Cooks

Book excerpt: When John Lion Deveron meets April McCreagh, a young, beautiful secretary at his newspaper office, a strange fantasy should have warned him that his staid, comfortable (but childless) marriage is endangered. A pleasant summer of luncheons together evolves into only a pattern of family visits, clouded by the disapproval of Lion's wife, Cynthia. But April's determination, if unconscious, is not to be deterred by his marriage--or her own subsequent one. The social and distance barriers to their union seem insurmountable. However, whether or not, as friend Brightwood suggests, some Destiny is involved, their mutual attraction is inexorable--and Mother wants a grandson. Dissolving the barriers to their consummation involves Lion's conversion, by virtue of April's poetic fancy, from a rather conservative newsman into a springtime forest god. The conversion successful-at heavy cost-Lion finds that, alas, to trust a woman is to write one's memoirs in the snow. When their tug of war concludes, he is confronted with the ultimate question: has he won or lost?
