Book A GRANDFATHER S GIFT

Download or read book A GRANDFATHER S GIFT written by James E. Smith, Sr. and published by Author House. This book was released on 2014-02 with total page 315 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is about my life experiences and also contains the stories I have heard my folks tell while sitting on the front porch after supper. For many years, my maternal grandfather lived with us. He and my dad would swap interesting stories about times when they were growing up and farming with oxen and mules. They talked about the "dummy line" railroads that ran through the forest near our home and told their childhood tales and many other stories I would long for later in life. I wanted to pass this and my life stories down to my descendants. Many interesting stories were told in the serene setting of the front porch deep in the country, with only the interruptions of whippoorwills, hoot owls, screech owls, and such making pleasant noises in the distant woods. ... I hope that this book will inspire future generations in some way to understand the important things in life. It's been said that the best things are free, and I learned that one only has to make necessary efforts to obtain a peaceful, happy, and fulfilling life.

Book The Grandfather Clock Owner s Repair Manual

Download or read book The Grandfather Clock Owner s Repair Manual written by D. Rod Lloyd and published by D. Rod Lloyd. This book was released on 2023-01-02 with total page 232 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The most comprehensive Grandfather Clock Repair Book. Brand New for 2023. Perfect for Grandfather clock owners or professional Clock Repairers. Hundreds of photos and diagrams.

* Do you own a clock that is special to you that has stopped working, perhaps a gift or a family heirloom? This book is for you.
* Do you like to tinker with mechanical things? This book is for you.
* Have you taken a clock apart but can't get it back together? This book is for you.
* Are you fascinated with clocks, have several you have bought but do not work? This book is for you.

Be bold. Take on your project. This book will hold your hand every step of the way and guide you to success. YOU CAN DO IT.

Why does a Grandfather Clock Stop Working? Often, the works are dirty, need oiling, or, most likely, both. When the clock stops, think of it as “the oil light is on”. It’s a “cry for help”. Without oil, the metal parts grind on each other, causing serious wear and damage. Oil also attracts dust which can make the oil “gummy’ and add drag to its operation until it can no longer overcome the friction. If a clock is oiled regularly [every three to five years], chances are you will only ever need to re-oil your clock. If the clock is allowed to run until it stops, the only sure way to service it is to remove the works from its case, dismantle the parts, clean, service, and put the movement back together with fresh oil and correct adjustment.

This book will teach you how to do all this.

Book Deadtime Stories Grandpa s Monster Movies

Download or read book Deadtime Stories Grandpa s Monster Movies written by Annette Cascone and published by Macmillan. This book was released on 2012-11-13 with total page 162 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Another creepy tale for beside the campfire or beneath the covers from "Twisted Sisters" Annette and Gina Cascone's Deadtime Stories—now a hit show on Nickelodeon! C.T. and his cousin Lea are staying at their grandparents' old farmhouse. It's Grandpa's seventieth birthday, and everyone's celebrating with a big family reunion. All the weird relatives are here, and all they seem to want to talk about are "the good old days." C.T. and Lea think "the good old days" are pretty boring—until they find some home movies hidden away in the attic—movies from when their grandfather was just a boy. The home movies give them a piece of family history that the relatives never talked about. It seems that horses, cows, pigs, and chickens aren't the only creatures Grandpa's been taking care of on the farm. C.T. and Lea discover there's a monster among them—and this creature is dying to eat a lot more than the birthday cake! At the Publisher's request, this title is being sold without Digital Rights Management Software (DRM) applied.
