Book Childless by Marriage

Download or read book Childless by Marriage written by Sue Fagalde Lick and published by . This book was released on 2021-06 with total page 300 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: First you marry a man who does not want children. He cheats and you divorce him. Then you marry the love of your life and find out he does not want to have children with you either. The three he has are more than enough. Although you always wanted to be a mother, you decide he is worth the sacrifice, expecting to have a long happy life together. But that's not what happens. This is the story of how a woman becomes childless by marriage and how it affects every aspect of her life. This is the book of my heart, the one I had to write. Ever since I realized I was not going to have children, I have felt recurring grief and an emptiness in my heart. I am different from most women, but I have found that I am not alone. There are many of us childless women, and I think it's important to share our stories about what it's like when you don't have children in a world where most girls grow up to become mothers. I hope this book offers comfort to those who are childless and understanding to those who are not. If it makes you smile here and there, even better.

Book There Is Wisdom in Grandma s Hands

Download or read book There Is Wisdom in Grandma s Hands written by Evangelist Karen Tongue and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2020-03-30 with total page 198 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The bible states that it is appointed unto man once to die. Each of us will have to pass by death in order to reach the next stage of life: eternal life in heaven or hell. We have known about the existence of heaven and hell since the beginning of time. It is not the will of God for any to perish. That means though we have to die God does not want us to go to hell. We can have an assurance of life everlasting in heaven with Christ Jesus our Lord. There are many wonderful things prepared in heaven for those of us who overcome this life and receive our great rewards in heaven for living a life unto Christ. Many people have lost loved ones along life's way. Some of these loved ones have been gone for many years and people are still grieving and mourning over them deeply. God wants you to come to him and find health and healing in the safety of his loving arms. To receive this healing we must come to him and accept his plan of salvation. Salvation is the beginning to healing, love, and acceptance. In Christ, we find hope and peace that surpasses all human understanding. We learn who we are and we learn who we are in Christ. I pray this book will give every reader an expected hope and the joy of the Lord for strength.

Book Parentless Parents

Download or read book Parentless Parents written by Allison Gilbert and published by Hachette Books. This book was released on 2011-02-15 with total page 251 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Parentless Parents is the first book to show how the absence of grandparents impacts everything about the way mothers and fathers raise their children--from everyday parenting decisions to the relationships they have with their spouses and in-laws. For the first time in U.S. history, as the average age of women giving birth has increased significantly, millions of children are at risk of having fewer years with their grandparents than ever before. How has this substantial shift affected parents and kids? Journalist, award-winning television producer, and parentless parent Allison Gilbert has polled and studied more than 1,300 parentless parents from across the United States and a dozen other countries to find out. Through her pioneering research, Gilbert not only shares her own story and the significant and poignant effect that this trend has had on her and hundreds of other families, but also the myriad ways these mothers and fathers have learned to keep the memory of their parents alive for their children, and to find the support and understanding they need.

Book Telling Stories

Download or read book Telling Stories written by and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2021-11-15 with total page 493 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The present volume is a highly comprehensive assessment of the postcolonial short story since the thirty-six contributions cover most geographical areas concerned. Another important feature is that it deals not only with exclusive practitioners of the genre (Mansfield, Munro), but also with well-known novelists (Achebe, Armah, Atwood, Carey, Rushdie), so that stimulating comparisons are suggested between shorter and longer works by the same authors. In addition, the volume is of interest for the study of aspects of orality (dialect, dance rhythms, circularity and trickster figure for instance) and of the more or less conflictual relationships between the individual (character or implied author) and the community. Furthermore, the marginalized status of women emerges as another major theme, both as regards the past for white women settlers, or the present for urbanized characters, primarily in Africa and India. The reader will also have the rare pleasure of discovering Janice Kulik Keefer's “Fox,” her version of what she calls in her commentary “displaced autobiography’” or “creative non-fiction.” Lastly, an extensive bibliography on the postcolonial short story opens up further possibilities for research.

Book excerpt: You’ve been told a lie, what you know about grandparents is wrong, problematic at its best. Under the duress of traumatic stress, I tried to kill a black cat-crazy-evil on purpose. Yet, it tried to kill me first! Babysitting gigs went everywhere other than smooth. Each day was a “War Zone.” Dracula just showed up on the regular without even a knock on the door before I could invite him in. Neighbors walked around looking like “Zombies” of an unknown planet. Dogs and chickens are humongously gigantic, they tried to eat me/my whole family. My prayers to God is the only thing that saved my life.

Book Grandma and Me

  • Release : 2023-12-07
  • ISBN :
  • Pages : 39 pages

Download or read book Grandma and Me written by Sue Kleinhuizen and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2023-12-07 with total page 39 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Grandma and Me was written by this author in hopes to provide an educational tool for children diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis. The book describes, in an easier-to-understand version for children, what is happening to their bodies and what they might be able to do to make it better. Grandma, the author, was diagnosed with PA after a serious injury with a reaction that triggered her condition. Delilah, the main character of the book, was diagnosed at age seven with PA. Delilah was struggling to understand the importance of managing her condition prompting Grandma to write the book so it could be used to educate children and alleviate some of the concerns that they may have. It describes what psoriatic arthritis is, how it is diagnosed, what common symptoms are, how people get this condition, and what can make it worse. The book describes the types of doctors that may be involved, available treatments, and the importance of getting enough sleep, eating a balanced diet, getting regular exercise, and how to protect your skin. Children with psoriatic arthritis may experience many feelings and emotional concerns. This book addresses many of the challenges that these children face as well as offers helpful suggestions about the importance of educating yourself, your family, peers, and people in your support system about this condition. The book teaches children to be comfortable with who they are as it points out that we are all special in our own ways and that Jesus loves everyone just the way they are. It encourages educating each other in a class setting about each other’s unique differences. This book encourages the concept that when we treat others with kindness, they will treat us with kindness too. By providing more education about each other’s differences and having an improved understanding of each person’s unique needs, perhaps the children can develop a support system for each other. The book is designed to help boost self-esteem for those who are dealing with this particular medical challenge as well as broaden their support systems.
