Download or read book Packing Grandma s China written by Lana M. Tatom and published by BalboaPress. This book was released on 2013-09-30 with total page 278 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Somewhere along the way in life, you start to listen to that little voice. We are all on this journey together, growing, learning, and changing. As I stood in the kitchen of my dream home, looking out on the still water of the pond, I cried. Warm, salty tears streamed down my face as I told myself I could do this. Just start with one box; dont get overwhelmed. Pack one box; stay focused. I started packing Grandmas china first. As I packed the china set, a flood of memories came of the countless times I had carefully wrapped up each piece and placed them into the box. It was at that moment that I decided to write about this beautiful set of china, all the experiences and lessons I have learned along my journey. It is through my grandmothers journey that I have found my own strength and freedom. Twenty years and thirteen moves later, the china is the only set of dishes I own. When was the last time you used your china? What are you waiting for? Dont leave it locked up, waiting for a special occasion. Make today the special occasion you have been waiting for. In loving memory of my Grandma, Veronica Billetz (January 13, 1922-December 13, 2009)
Download or read book There Is Wisdom in Grandma s Hands written by Evangelist Karen Tongue and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2020-03-30 with total page 195 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The bible states that it is appointed unto man once to die. Each of us will have to pass by death in order to reach the next stage of life: eternal life in heaven or hell. We have known about the existence of heaven and hell since the beginning of time. It is not the will of God for any to perish. That means though we have to die God does not want us to go to hell. We can have an assurance of life everlasting in heaven with Christ Jesus our Lord. There are many wonderful things prepared in heaven for those of us who overcome this life and receive our great rewards in heaven for living a life unto Christ. Many people have lost loved ones along life's way. Some of these loved ones have been gone for many years and people are still grieving and mourning over them deeply. God wants you to come to him and find health and healing in the safety of his loving arms. To receive this healing we must come to him and accept his plan of salvation. Salvation is the beginning to healing, love, and acceptance. In Christ, we find hope and peace that surpasses all human understanding. We learn who we are and we learn who we are in Christ. I pray this book will give every reader an expected hope and the joy of the Lord for strength.

This book was released on 2017-12-15 with total page 146 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a true-life memoir of defiant endurance through cruelty and traumatic loss, leading to ultimate survival. The author presents his father’s ordeals during five and a half years of Nazi captivity during the Holocaust. Included is a section of his mother’s similar experiences, although limited by her difficulty in discussing this topic. As the title infers, throughout he perceives the aura of his late grandma’s spirit protecting him with her angelic wings, as vowed in an early vision. Besides the brutal forced labor, extreme hunger, and massive life upheaval, there are numerous near-death escapes. He consistently feels luck being steered his way. With this fortune, perseverance, and daring he ends up as the lone survivor of his large family. A similar outcome applies to the author’s mother. Narrated from a first-person viewpoint it depicts forced migrations, Warsaw ghetto internment, and an ever worsening struggle to survive. Finally he must endure a series of Nazi camps for years until Russian liberation brings the war’s end. He becomes aware of the complete loss of family, being alone in the world in his early twenties. Finally free, DP camp life offers renewal, marriage, USA migration, and starting over.

Download or read book Grandma s Baby written by Karen Wise and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2012-07-06 with total page 114 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What would you do if someone gravely injured one of your children or grandchildren, intentionally? Unfortunately I have experienced that scenario first-hand and much like it did me the answer may surprise you. On June 19, 1998, my daughter's boyfriend beat and shook my 14-month old granddaughter nearly to death because she would not stop crying. Immaturity and irresponsibility, coupled with an inability to cope with everyday stressors, had caused a grown man to assault a defenseless baby. Fighting for her life she arrived at a local hospital emergency room by ambulance, her diagnosis – Shaken Baby Syndrome/Abusive Head Trauma (SBS/AHT). Her prognosis awakened a community to a medical term that many had never heard before that evening, and ignited a fire inside of everyone to stop the insanity of Shaken Baby Syndrome. Americans today have been stunned by unprecedented terrorist attacks, escalating wars in the Middle East, and unparalleled financial crisis at home. We are living in a world in which children are no longer safe at school without electronic security and ordinary people are brutally shaking infants when they can no longer cope with the sound of them crying. The time has come for our nation to reassess its priorities and restore basic human values within our communities to protect our most valuable natural resource from senseless and preventable acts of violence. I believe the dividends will be priceless.

Along the way, his path took him on a journey of hurt, happiness, disaster and deliverance. There were times for both tears and smiles-as there are in his book. But as he matured and made some changes, his life was transformed into one of love, contentment and peace. What were the qualities that made up his combination and unlocked for him a path to secure his dream? Walk the path with him.
