Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Every morning the world wakes up and absolutely nothing happens until someone sells something to somebody was the favorite shibboleth of Rudy Kirsch, successful entrepreneur and owner and founder of Dynograph Security Systems and Amalgamated Development. His uncanny ability to understand sales types as he called salesmen and sales managers and his facility for recognizing talent and cutting through the smoke screen of empty glibness often proffered by mediocre and failed sales types served him well. The first step in becoming a successful salesman is recognizing you have to work your ass off and that gift of gab has very little to do with it, he would say, often in frustration. This ability enabled Kirsch to put together a team of three very talented people and ask that they save what was left of his empire, namely Dynograph Security Systems. Amalgamated was established by Rudy ten years earlier when he became bored with Dynograph and left it in the incompetent hands of Mitch Feldman and his brother in law Bernie Klein. Now Rudy was in big trouble, up to his ears in debt both personal and business mostly as a result of the collapse of Amalgamated Development, one of the largest and most successful Florida home site sales organizations. Changes in the tax codes as well as much tougher administrative rules and regulations adopted by a variety of federal regulatory agencies all but killed the Florida land sale business. Rudy had no choice but to roll up his sleeves and reassume command at Dynograph. He convinced Chet Landers, his dynamic and incredibly successful vice president of sales at Amalgamated to not only join him but to accept the challenge of doubling sales at Dynograph in twelve months or less. Rudy had grown to admire Chet both as a man and as a manager and gave him carte-blanch to straighten out the mess created by Mitch and Bernie, clean house and right the Dynograph ship and do it quickly or all would be lost. Cast of characters: Steve Holiday From washing machine repairman to legendary sales manager at Dynograph. Chet Landers Football star, war hero, actor, TV icon, retirement consultant, incredible motivator, cleaned house and saved the day at Dynograph. Got rid of the vipers. Ted Sternweiss Left his South Bronx upbringing behind him except for a terrific left hook, added a new dimension to sales at Dynograph. Rudy Kirsch Understood sales types. Was a builder, the driving force behind it all. Became Chet Landers father many times. Selma Kirsch Hated it all. Knew about Debra. Debra Remington Rudys loyal executive assistant and lover of ten years. Skippy Leonard Played trumpet for Arturo Toscanini and worked for Rudy Kirsch. Brought Chet Landers to Amalgamated Development to sell home sites in Florida. Claude and Nadine a unit at an Amalgamated Development sales dinner. David Frost Teds protg, sales super star. Friendship jeopardized in confusion of success. Rose Holiday Jersey girl. Shows wisdom and insight near the end. Howie Weinfeld A different kind of salesman. Had secret weapon. Kevin Boyle Treachery was his middle name. Dave Gordon He did it his way. He trusted no one. Abby Sternweiss Of the Montgomery, Alabama Chennaults. Mitch Feldman President of Dynograph. Gave Bernie Klein a free hand. Bernie Klein Created a vipers nest at Dynograph while Rudy was away. He and Mitch loved it. John Sullivan Viper. Irv Norman Viper. Don Vorhees Viper. Book Eat Their Lunch

Download or read book Eat Their Lunch written by Anthony Iannarino and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2018-11-06 with total page 241 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The first ever playbook for B2B salespeople on how to win clients and customers who are already being serviced by your competition, from the author of The Only Sales Guide You'll Ever Need and The Lost Art of Closing. Like it or not, sales is often a zero-sum game: Your win is someone else's loss. Most salespeople work in mature, overcrowded industries, your offerings perceived (often unfairly) as commodities. Growth requires taking market share from your competitors, while they try to do the same to you. How else can you grow 12 percent a year in an industry that's only growing by 3 percent? It's not easy for any salesperson to execute a competitive displacement--or, in other words, "eat their lunch." You might think this requires a bloodthirsty "whatever it takes" attitude, but that's the opposite of what works. If you act like a Mafia don, you only make yourself difficult to trust and impossible to see as a long-term partner. Instead, this book shows you how to find and maintain a long-term competitive advantage by taking steps like: ranking prospective new clients not by their size or convenience to you, but by who stands to gain the most from your solution. understanding the different priorities for everyone in your prospect's organization, from the CEO to the accountants, and addressing their various concerns. developing a systematic contact plan for all those different stakeholders so you can win over the right people at the organization in the optimal sequence. Your competitors may be tough, but with the strategies you'll discover in this book, you'll soon be eating their lunch.

Book excerpt: The author has seven published novels. His enduring interest in Canadian Army history is based on having attended the McGill medical school through the Regular Officer Training Program which required three summers of basic and field training followed by three years of military service as the Regimental Medical Officer with the Second Battalion of the Royal Canadian Regiment. The early historical novels consisted of the Canadian Army Trilogy in which the first had to do with the Verrières Ridge in Normandy; the second with the costly river assault crossing of the Lamone River in Italy; the third novel goes back to the First World War, Lucifer’s Gate, after the Menin Gate through which the Canadian soldiers passed on the way to the Flanders battlefields. The next two novels included The Afternoon of the Women, about therapy in a psychiatrist’s office, and the second, North of the Tai, about a boy growing up in Japanese occupied China. The most recent two novels were about the War of 1812, the first, The Red Dawn, on the battles for Niagara, and the second, Bastion of Empire, was about Fort St Joseph. This brings us to Gone for Doctors, the eighth novel, not an historical account but about doctors. Don MacMillan visits the land lady for the boarding house he shared with the main character, Michael Hogan, when they were students at Western University. Don wanted to know had Michael already left for the McGill medical school. He was told that Michael had “Gone for Doctors.” Four medical students form a study group they call their cabal, which meets after the weekly pathology class. The cabal helps them though the cadaveric stench of the anatomy laboratory, and the ancillary classes in histology and physiology of their first year of medical school. It follows them through their clinical years, their personal lives and medical careers.

Download or read book A King s Daughter written by Audra Lilly Griffeth and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2012-01-24 with total page 650 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Birthmark, A Princess, A Special Destiny in Romantic Novel, A King's Daughter FORT WORTH, Texas- A red birthmark on the face of a newborn baby daughter turns its mother, a Queen into a suspicious, if not superstitious, woman. Queen Charlotte, wife to King Edward, gives birth to her child, but upon knowing that the mark will not go away immediately loses faith in everything and turns away from A King's daughter. Audra Lilly Griffeth's exciting story is potent with the romance attendant on royalty and how its members fare when a twist of fate condemns them or one of their members to a commoner's fate but is destined to come back to the fold. And thus, the story unfolds... Born Princess Eva Kathleen Wellington, Eva is loved by the Queen's servant Lady Margaret, when her mother continues with her passionate denial of her daughter's defect. Although it may have turned out worse, Princess Eva's story is proof of a more romantic, benign fate that is perhaps the antithesis to the Queen's unfounded fears of having a "defective" and cursed infant. In any case, a cosmetic cure could have been eventually found except that there was no hiding the Queen's strange behavior towards her newborn for too long. Sad and concerned for the Princesses' future, Lady Margaret arranged a fake kidnapping in a nearby forest when King and Queen are off on a state to visit another kingdom. When news of "kidnapping" reaches them two days after the fact, the Queen is unaffected while the King is in depair and does not fully recover even after the birth of two sons and another daughter to continue his line. Meanwhile, Eva and Lady Margaret, as Evanlynn and Mary Engleton (mother and daughter), prosper as nest they could in Margaret's grandparent's dairy farm. Fate takes another surprising turn when Sir Daniel, a trusted officer of the King, befriends Margaret and unwittingly influences her to reveal their existence to the King. The King is overjoyed and Evanlynn shows the truth of her genetic make-up by naturally adapting to a set of strange, new circumstances. With a flair for a well-turned out plot which generates its own set of unique circumstances, Griffeth then sets in motion a whirlwind of love, repentance, acceptance and a more special destiny for the entire kingdom that would not have been possible had it not lost a Princess to the vagaries of natural physical form.

He had to kill the time but with something sweet; he closed his eyes and remembered those moments of his life he lived. One by one, pictures flashed in front of the mind’s eyes and all he could do was to witness, silently. He was rescued and his life took a U-turn. Back in his world, questioned his love ones about incidents in their lives those affected them the most. He meant the incidents they wouldn’t stop thinking about come what may. He gave his ears to all of it. In the end, he got a handful of them to hold on to and called it: Life – an ATOM in itself; and thus, the book All Those Ossum moments! The world’s private stories are always the hidden beautiful treasures in one’s life but through the stories he realized those were still as much public as there is something common we all can share in the stories. Not all but often, we remember moments we felt we had experienced the extremes of Love, Hate, Hugs and Kisses. Love is also an emotion that makes you the most vulnerable and melts you exactly the same as does revenge in one’s life.
