Book Cooking Geek Going Raw and Going Paleo

Download or read book Cooking Geek Going Raw and Going Paleo written by Rebecca Reichlin and published by Editorial Imagen LLC. This book was released on 2017-05-15 with total page 155 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Cooking Geek Going Raw and Going Paleo The Cooking Geek book covers two different diets, the Going Raw diet, and the Paleo Diet. Both diets are ones that have been around for years. People go on these two diets for many reasons. First and foremost, the main reason for "dieting" is for weight loss. Over weight and obesity are big (pun intended) problems nowadays especially in the United States. The reason being for weight issues are our lack of discipline and proper nutrition. The Raw Food Diet is an extreme diet that encompasses eating all uncooked foods, mainly focusing on raw vegetables. Raw, uncooked vegetables contain high levels of nutrients that are often lost during the cooking process. The body make take some time to be accustomed to eating a raw food diet, but once the body learns to digest the food in its natural state you will feel better having obtained all the wonderful nutrition that natural food has to offer. The recipes in the raw foods section cover main dishes, side dishes, appetizers, sauces and breads. There is a special section just for breakfast and brunch too. The Paleo Diet is an ancient diet enjoyed by our very distant ancestors from the Stone Age. During this time, people ate a certain way, ate certain foods, and as a result lived healthier and longer lives. In studying their diets, the Paleo Diet came back and gains in popularity today again. Their main foods consisted of vegetables and meats along with fruits. They did not eat grains or legumes; therefore, the Paleo Diet is very similar to the gluten free diet plans. Many choose this diet to become healthier, to reach a more ideal weight and they choose it as a lifestyle change. The Paleo section details a large variety of recipes.

Book excerpt: Raw is the story of one woman’s quest for health and happiness, which dragged her kicking and screaming into spiritual adulthood. Anxiety and a desire to heal it holistically—even before she knew what it was—is at the heart of this story, which reveals Carter’s struggles to face her fears, release perfectionism, surrender things beyond her control, and find validation within for her life and work. The book is divided into three sections—body, mind, and spirit—and it begins with Carter’s efforts to holistically cure chronic stomach problems. Toward that end, she adopted a 100 percent raw, vegan diet, which eased her symptoms and produced impressive, unexpected perks, but didn’t completely heal her. She then looked to her mind for answers and discovered that unconscious negative thoughts combined with a stressful, hectic-paced life sabotaged her well-being. Finally, a few mystical experiences brought her “home” to a visceral understanding of who she really is.

  • Release :
  • ISBN :
  • Pages : 40 pages

Download or read book Raw Diet written by Maria Garrets and published by Dedona Publishing. This book was released on with total page 40 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A raw diet is a type of diet where individuals consume foods that are uncooked and unprocessed. The idea is to eat foods in their natural state to preserve their nutrients and enzymes, which can be lost during cooking. This diet often includes raw fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and sometimes raw animal products like meat and dairy, though the latter is less common due to food safety concerns. Proponents believe it can improve health and vitality, while critics raise concerns about nutritional balance and safety. The raw food movement has a rich history that traces back to the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Its origins can be linked to the vegetarian and natural hygiene movements of the late 1800s. Influential figures like Sylvester Graham, known for creating the Graham cracker, promoted a diet focused on whole grains and fresh, raw foods. The natural hygiene movement, which gained prominence in the early 20th century, further advanced these ideas. Led by proponents such as Herbert Shelton, it advocated for a diet consisting mainly of raw fruits and vegetables, emphasizing the body's natural healing abilities.
