Book The Cap

Download or read book The Cap written by John Spann and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2016-09-16 with total page 166 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is really not a book but the cries and screams of millions of American and free world Veterans; crying out from their graves and their PTSD prison cells. Thirty seven million American vets are alive as these screams and cries are being recorded and what a giant sacrifice for a freedom loving world. For millions of American vets who returned from war during the most publicly hated and unpopular war in history; I was one of the lucky few because of an accident. In a hurry running out the back door; I grabbed the TABOO cap, the one which had the taboo words Vietnam vet written on it. While pumping gas a busy lovely brown eyed lady walked up to me and tilted her head reading my cap and said Vietnam correct? I yanked off the cap and said Woops wrong cap, sorry and through it in the truck. With lovely manicured hands she took my dirty farm hands; looked me in the eyes and said, Sir I want to thank you for your service. The lovely lady disappeared in the flood running down my dirty face. I screamed and cried with so much joy and happiness the birds hushed their singing. My old flop eared dog tilted his ugly head and said whats wrong boss, did your head jump time? That was the first time I felt okay after a century; and feeling okay is heaven and I know there are millions of vets who do not yet feel okay and millions have gone to their eternal rest not feeling okay. I was one of the lucky few. Sweet lady you wrote this little book and saved a life and many PTSD lives. This little book talks about trapped emotions which is a big part of PTSD and anyone who suffers with traumas; children and wives, husbands to horses, dogs and cats can suffer with trapped emotions so hug your kid, wife or husband, your horse, your dog or cat and they will feel good and so will you. It also talks about what you and I can do about the vet and teen suicide epidemic; school shootings and bombings, school or public bombings and how an epidemic of caring and hugging may slow it down. The book shows how shootings, bombings and suicides often happen in the actors 90% subconscious mind and the 10 % conscious mind knows nothing about it; so the actor feels no guilt and would pass a lie detectors test. Our favorite news caster asks the expert on suicides why; and she says were the last to know, they dont tell anyone they just do it? The expert forgot to add the actor knows nothing about it either because his subconscious survivor mechanism was at work Many are able to control their rage through a belief system as in prayer or talking about it to a friend or a willing listener. The called have the gift of forgiving so they can go on with their happy caring life.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Please note: This is a companion version & not the original book. Sample Book Insights: #1 Ben was 14 when he attacked and killed a boy who was 11. He called 999 and said he’d killed a boy, but didn’t explain why. He was sentenced to an indefinite term at Her Majesty’s pleasure. In prison, they treated him as if he was worthless. He attempted escapes and tried to starve himself to death. #2 By 2010, Ben had been in prison for thirty years, three times longer than the minimum tariff demanded. He should have been released decades ago. But every time an opportunity for parole came up, he managed to supply the prison service with a new reason to deny it. #3 When you take a human and strip them of all the esteem they desire, how do they save themselves. They build a life for themselves. They become famous for fighting the system, and they are. #4 We rarely say that we do the things we do because of status. We rarely admit to being motivated by improving our rank. We readily recognize it in others and even use it as an insult.

Book excerpt: THE YEARNING OF YAHVEH In terms of man's morality, the Old Testament is an account of tragic failure. Israel strayed repeatedly from the path mapped out by God, and He corrected them repeatedly with tough-love discipline. From the viewpoint of God's love, the Old Testament is a journal of immense compassion. Despite Israel's failures, God kept yearning for their genuine trust and love. He refused to give up on them and called them back by His prophets who relentlessly declared, "Thus says the LORD." The LORD is a translation of the Hebrew name Yahveh, God's personal name He revealed to Moses at the burning bush. The Yearning of Yahveh takes the reader on an exciting one-page-per-day journey through the Old Testament. Join the tour and discover the gospel in the scrolls of Hebrew Scripture.

Book Turning Baseball Upside Down

Download or read book Turning Baseball Upside Down written by Alex Gaynes and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2020-01-13 with total page 145 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a story about life and baseball, or maybe about baseball and life by a confessed baseball coaching lifer whose every attempt to retire has failed. So I decided to write about it. After all, it’s like my wife tells me, just tell stories. So that’s what I have done. The problem is, that every time we talk, we are reminded that there is another story to tell. At lunch today with sons Josh and Carl (who both played for me, though not always willingly) we were reminded of the Legion season that Josh caught a full season of double headers unbeknownst to us with a cracked bone in his ankle. While eating I received a text from son, Rusty (who like Josh, also coached with me) coaches an MSBL team in Phoenix. He is having a terrible season, and has entertained thoughts of retiring. I sent him a draft of this manuscript today, and received this text while eating lunch: “I’ve been ready to quit coaching after this season. After reading chapter 1, I am not ever quitting!” Thanks, Rusty. I hope you like this.

Book excerpt: In 'The Games People Play', Robert Ellis constructs a theology around the global cultural phenomenon of modern sport, paying particular attention to its British and American manifestations. Using historical narrative and social analysis to enter thedebate on sport as religion, Ellis shows that modern sport may be said to have taken on some of the functions previously vested in organized religion. Through biblical and theological reflection, he presents a practical theology of sport's appeal and value, with special attention to the theological concept of transcendence. Throughout, he draws on original empirical work with sports participants and spectators.'The Games People Play' addresses issues often considered problematic in theological discussions of sport such as gender, race, consumerism, and the role of the modern media, as well as problems associated with excessive competition and performance-enhancing substances.

Book excerpt: It is not uncommon for a Christian to want to accomplish great things for God. And so, in our zeal and passion for him, we set out to do just that. While there is certainly nothing wrong with such a mission, many Christians are faulty in the way to go about it. Too many set out with a zeal to accomplish something great for God without first submitting themselves to be the type of vessel through which God can do something great. There is a great difference in wanting to be used and wanting to be usable. One relies on self: talent, title, personal strengths. The other relies on Almighty God. And as talented as a person may be, his or her gifts pale in comparison to the power of God and what he could do through them, if they would only submit to him and his ways. The world needs more people through whom God can pour himself. Churches need men and women who are willing to trust in God and be greatly used of him. Homes need fathers and mothers who rely more heavily on the power of God to sustain them than they do their own muster. Our generation needs people who will wait on God to make them usable before setting out to accomplish greatness in their own strength.
