Book excerpt: Izlana, goddess of creation, is on her first journey to the human world. She thinks the god of war wants to accompany her as a friend—but he betrays her, delivering her to human slavers. These cruel men neutralize her powers with a magical collar, leaving her vulnerable and weak in a strange new world. After being bought by a man who is aware of her powers—and who appears to have sinister plans for her—Izlana seeks help from Marric, a servant who treats her with kindness no others show her in this harsh new world. She’s terrified to realize she’s falling for him, since it’s forbidden for a goddess to love a human. With her feelings just as trapped as she is, she’ll have to learn to live without him, regain her powers, and return home… alone. Except her bond with Marric isn't the only obstacle in her way. In order to return home, Izlana will have to fight her way through the growing war between the humans and the gods. If she fails, more than just her heart is at stake…both the heavens and the earth will crumble.

Named as one of the 100 Most Spiritually Influential Living People by Watkins Mind Body Spirit, Zinovia Dushkova, Ph.D., continues to reveal sacred texts that have been immortalized in the secret depositories of Shambhala. This time her new work represents a synthesis from the pages of the Book of Dzyan and the Book of Fiery Destinies, which tell about the creation of our world by Woman - the Goddess Lakshmi, who is known in Gnostic Christianity as Sophia, the bride of Christ. The Ascending Goddess will allow you a glimpse into those distant times when our planet was still in the process of creation. The Divine Man and Woman - Christ and Sophia, inseparably united in the Heavens - turned their gaze to the Earth with the aim of sowing the seed of Love there. So the Woman was the first to descend to the planet - not only to breathe life into it, but also to prepare the soil in human hearts for the Coming of her beloved Man. Elucidating the path of Lakshmi on the Earth, The Ascending Goddess will help you understand in a new way the spiritual path which every woman is destined to traverse, along with the rest of our planet's humanity. This book will fundamentally change your attitude towards so-called wrathful Deities and will also tell you about the structure of the Hierarchy of Light, revealing the secret purpose for the descent of the Supreme Gods from the Heavens and their lives among ordinary people - even today! Book The Galactic Goddess

Download or read book The Galactic Goddess written by Radhaa Nilia and published by Galactic Goddess. This book was released on 2019-03-18 with total page 320 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Galactic Goddess - Ascending Beyond Duality is a heartfelt, intensely honest and intimate memoir: the story of an awakening starseed and her adventures in duality. A 5th generation Shaman, Radhaa lived in the isolated and magical mountains of the Cordilleras as a young girl. Amnesia kicked in at the age of five as she was faced with the ruptures of her east meets west bloodlines. Thrown into unusual life circumstances, her portal to the Divine slowly closed down leading her into the path of duality. The underworld exploration included everything from joining a cult to drug-induced nights at the Playboy mansion, the rape culture of Hollywood, and coming face to face with the False Goddess that seemed inherently part of the American dream. This dark path led her to rock bottom. The abuse, betrayal and the dark night of the soul eventually revealed the realm of sacred as a refuge, into her awakening. This experience opened up the door to otherworldly visits by Starbeings. Radhaa's galactic connection deepened her realization of her Starseed roots. Through these high-frequency interactions, the Divine and dormant memories kicked in, along with the cosmic codes. She allowed in the visceral remembering of her past lives, discovering how to weave timelines from her past, present, and future. This activated the key to her Akashic Records which allowed her to heal lineage, heart, soul and karmic soul wounds through the alchemy of ancient arts interwoven with raw, real, vivid and gritty storytelling. Exquisite, enthralling, and at times earth-shattering, this shameless wisdom keeper calls you to dive into these revealing and authentic stories so that you can find the reflection of your own knowledge as you drink in the marvels, visions, and lessons put forward in the pages of this book. You too can rise to the occasion from the timeless lessons you will learn and ascend beyond your own duality. Are you ready?

Book Cauldron of Changes

Download or read book Cauldron of Changes written by Janice C. Crosby and published by McFarland. This book was released on 2000-01-01 with total page 222 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book examines the spiritual dimensions found in the literature of the fantastic (science fiction, fantasy, and magical realism) by linking such novels to actual currents within the feminist spirituality movement. Fusing popular culture studies, women's studies, and close textual analysis, the author moves beyond earlier studies that fail to address the genre's use of goddess worship, psychic phenomena, and reverence for the earth. She reveals how such attributes betoken a spiritual awakening with profound implications for contemporary feminism. Special emphasis is given to both the struggle to provide an alternative to men-centered experience and to the need to articulate ways in which feminists can achieve personal and social power. The authors studied represent a variety of American voices, and include both firmly established and newer writers such as Marion Zimmer Bradley, Kim Chernin, Alice Walker, Mercedes Lackey, Patricia Kennealy, Gael Baudino, Octavia Butler, Lynn Abbey, Joan Vinge, Toni Morrison, Gloria Naylor, Ntozake Shange, and Starhawk.

It is waiting to welcome you to your fantasy.

Book The Goddess Myth in Contemporary Literature and Popular Culture

Download or read book The Goddess Myth in Contemporary Literature and Popular Culture written by Mary J. Magoulick and published by Univ. Press of Mississippi. This book was released on 2022-02-15 with total page 268 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Goddess characters are revered as feminist heroes in the popular media of many cultures. However, these goddess characters often prove to be less promising and more regressive than most people initially perceive. Goddesses in film, television, and fiction project worldviews and messages that reflect mostly patriarchal culture (included essentialized gender assumptions), in contrast to the feminist, empowering levels many fans and critics observe. Building on critiques of other skeptical scholars, this feminist, folkloristic approach deepens how our remythologizing of the ancient past reflects a contemporary worldview and rhetoric. Structures of contemporary goddess myths often fit typical extremes as either vilified, destructive, dark, and chaotic (typical in film or television); or romanticized, positive, even utopian (typical in women’s speculative fiction). This goddess spectrum persistently essentializes gender, stereotyping women as emotional, intuitive, sexual, motherly beings (good or bad), precluded from complex potential and fuller natures. Within apparent good-over-evil, pop-culture narrative frames, these goddesses all suffer significantly. However, a few recent intersectional writers, like N. K. Jemisin, break through these dark reflections of contemporary power dynamics to offer complex characters who evince “hopepunk.” They resist typical simplified, reductionist absolutes to offer messages that resonate with potential for today’s world. Mythic narratives featuring goddesses often do, but need not, serve merely as ideological mirrors of our culture’s still problematically reductionist approach to women and all humanity.

Download or read book One Last Look written by Susanna Moore and published by Vintage. This book was released on 2012-07-04 with total page 306 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Calcutta in 1836: an uneasy mix of two worlds–the patient, implacably unchangeable India and the tableau vivant of English life created of imperialism’s desperation. This is where Lady Eleanor, her sister Harriet, and her brother, Henry–the newly appointed Governor-General of the colony–arrive after a harrowing sea journey “from Heaven, across the world, to Hell.” But none of them will find India hellish in anticipated ways, and some–including Harriet and, against her better judgment, Eleanor–will find an irresistible and endlessly confounding heaven. In Lady Eleanor–whose story is based on actual diaries–we have a keenly intelligent and observant narrator. Her descriptions of her profoundly unfamiliar world are vivid and sensual. The stultifying heat, the sensuous relief of the monsoon rains, the aromas and colors of the gardens and marketplaces, the mystifying grace and silence of the Indians themselves all come to rich life on the page. When she, Harriet, Henry, and ten thousand soldiers and servants make a three-year trek to the Punjab from Calcutta under Henry’s failing leadership, Eleanor’s impressions of the people and landscape are deepened, charged by her own revulsion and exaltation: “My life,” she says, “once a fastidious nibble, has turned into an endless disorderly feast.” Harriet, whose passivity conceals a dazed openness to the true India, and Henry, with his frightened adherence to the crumbling ideals of empire, become foils to Eleanor’s slow but inexorable seduction. Historically precise, gorgeously evocative, banked with the heat of unbidden desires, One Last Look is a mesmerizing tale of the complex lure of the exotic and the brazen failure of imperialism–both political and personal. It is a powerful confirmation of Susanna Moore’s remarkable gifts.
