Book excerpt: During and following the 2004 Hurricane Season, some of our members felt led to assemble a collection of poetry, which lifted praises up to our Lord for the mercy He showed to us. It was therapeutic for us and helped rid ourselves of frustrations and anxieties that had kept us in bondage during and after these storms. Many in our area sustained major damage to their businesses and homes. Some of our members were among them. We have assembled these poems into this anthology to the Glory of God our Heavenly Father, His Son our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit our Comforter! FBC Melbourne became a shelter for displaced persons, recovery workers and a staging area for disaster relief work in Florida supported by the Salvation Army, the Red Cross and Southern Baptist Relief Organizations for several months in 2004. All the proceeds received from the sale of this Anthology will be used to support the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief Operations our Church is committed to carrying out wherever and whenever we are called upon. During the 2005 Hurricane Season, we provided several teams for recovery assistance in Hattiesburg and Biloxi, Mississippi and Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Download or read book The Manger written by Becky Reagan and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2009-01-16 with total page 202 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Manger. The most talked about birth throughout the ages... and they laid him in a manger. We imagine they stayed in a stable; or perhaps they stayed in a cave, but there is no mention of a stable or a cave in God's Word, only the manger. Did God forget to make reservations at the Inn? What if God intentionallly planned for his son to be placed in a manger? What if he didn't leave out any important details? What if he was teaching significance - not only during the life of Christ - but for each one of us every single day? Perhaps, just perhaps, God was painting a picture; a graphic visual aid to give us direction and wisdom in our lives. God's people portrayed extreme passion in all they did. The gift of a man and woman passionately uniting as one in marriage fulfilled God's perfect plan. If we fail to understand their passion for one another, we miss the passion God feels for us. Feel the passion - Come to the Manger.

When she finished writing her prayer to God, she read it and realized that it was in the form of a poem (Why Are You So Afraid, My Child)! Since that time the poetry has flowed from her heart in a miraculous way. And she has written a huge collection of poetry! She believes the poetry is a gift from God to help her express what she is feeling deep inside. It flows from her heart in a matter of minutes and falls onto the page in poetry form!
