Book God S Talking Child Rocks

Download or read book God S Talking Child Rocks written by Lottie Hufford and published by BalboaPress. This book was released on 2012-11-27 with total page 29 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Having lived with these circumstances in my young life has enabled me to write this book. I love helping others. If my life experiences can help any young child, the book has been worth my time and effort. My goal is to reach young children in a way that they may reach out to a professional for help. Writing this book and taking the photographs has been a complete joy. My mother is still living, but my father, two brothers, and sister are all deceased. I have been a resident of Webbers Falls, Oklahoma, since 1998. I assist my husband, Dr. Stan Hufford, in his chiropractic practice. I have two living daughters and a son who is deceased. I am blessed to have two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. I also have four stepchildren and eleven step-grandchildren. I enjoy fishing, painting, singing, and writing.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Are you too busy? Are you always running behind? Is your calendar loaded with more than you can possibly accomplish? Is it driving you crazy? You’re not alone. CrazyBusy–the modern phenomenon of brain overload–is a national epidemic. Without intending it or understanding how it happened, we’ve plunged ourselves into a mad rush of activity, expecting our brains to keep track of more than they comfortably or effectively can. In fact, as Attention Deficit Disorder expert and bestselling author Edward M. Hallowell, M.D., argues in this groundbreaking new book, this brain overload has reached the point where our entire society is suffering from culturally induced ADD. CrazyBusy is not just a by-product of high-speed, globalized modern life–it has become its defining feature. BlackBerries, cell phones, and e-mail 24/7. Longer work days, escalating demands, and higher expectations at home. It all adds up to a state of constant frenzy that is sapping us of creativity, humanity, mental well-being, and the ability to focus on what truly matters. But as Dr. Hallowell argues, being crazybusy can also be an opportunity. Just as ADD can, if properly managed, become a source of ingenuity and inspiration, so the impulse to be busy can be turned to our advantage once we get in touch with our needs and take charge of how we really want to spend our time. Through quick exercises (perfect for busy people), focused advice on everything from lifestyle to time management, and examples chosen from his extensive clinical experience, Hallowell goes step-by-step through the process of unsnarling frantic lives. With CrazyBusy, we can teach ourselves to move from the F-state–frenzied, flailing, fearful, forgetful, furious–to the C-state–cool, calm, clear, consistent, curious, courteous. Dr. Hallowell has helped more than a million readers free themselves of the distractions and compulsions of ADD. Now in CrazyBusy, he offers the same sound, sane, and accessible guidance for anyone suffering from the harried pace of modern life. If you find yourself pulled into a million different directions, here at last is the opportunity to stop being busy, start being happy, and still get things done.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Children are theologians with the ability to recognize and respond to God’s presence in their lives. Listening to the stories of children helps us to understand how children make meaning out of God’s presence and reveals tools that children use as they claim their faith. With this knowledge, adults can then better promote and encourage children’s spiritual growth. Offering a theology of childhood, Holy Work with Children values the child’s role in the Body of Christ and God’s transformative work. Dr. Campen invites readers to consider: •How does listening to children teach us about God and faith formation? •What wisdom and insight do children offer to all of us by how they seek understanding of God and God’s presence in their lives? •How can we guide and support the children in our communities in this work? Drawing on direct research with children as they think theologically, this book extends both theological and educational research. Holy Work with Children offers practical examples for how congregational leaders, parents, and those who journey with children can encourage and guide them as they make theological meaning and discover ways to respond to God’s grace and love making a difference in their communities and the world.
